80 gig fat here working just fine. This really sucks for the people being effected though. At least if it does come back online at midnight you can celebrate by playing some bf:bc2.
All right we got your first post; quit trolling the other threads, I'd expect better from an '05er
Yeah, us 05'ers are a shining beacon of Post Quality.
>.> Myself not included.
Sony's going to be bricking it if this doesn't rectify itself.
Some games publishers are going to have it in for them aswell I would imagine.
So is it save to turn the console on, or should I leave it off?
Leave it off for Safety.
I doubt having it on for a while would hurt, But it never hurts to be safe.
Sony themselves have said leave it off for now.

According to Sony, leave it off, don't power it on, unless you want data corrupted.
Ok, I see.
I have to unplug it now. Incase I accidently touch the power button so the thing starts without me noticing.
I surely hope stand-by (red light) doesn't count as "on".
You're not actively altering and accessing data while it's in Stand-by. So I think that should be sufficient.
Be safe, not sorry though, So if you're not sure, turn the switch off.
I'm in 2000 according to my PS3. I must warn Bush about 911!

Isn't the loud BEEEEEEEPPPPP enough?

Send him a PSN message while you still can.

By the way,
Sony said we should leave it off, because they don't want us to play games and earn trophies, because that may cause another bug, which may not be fixable.(Well, maybe probably by formating the disk) You can still turn on your PS3 and see the magic date and time, because it probably wont affect your PS3 that much by just being in main menu. But it may do something to it, if you're playing games, especially earning trophies. It may become corrupted.
That's just my opinion. So don't be scared to turn it on, it won't brick your PS3. Just don't play any games today and earn trophies, that's what they said.
Am I the only one who feels sorry for them PS3-owners? I own an Xbox, and I can imagine me being angry if Xbox Live would crash down suddenly.

That actually happened for a couple weeks once.
So I can turn on my slim?
I guess it does pay off not having Other OS...
who needs linux on ps3 anyways :v:
Slims are Fine.
Other OS is not to blame.
Internal Clock issue.
I wonder if people read the thread before simply asking if it effects them, because pretty much everything has been covered now.

I wasn't blaming Other OS, I was saying that not having all the extra stuff in there really can help...
And why the fuck is there an internal clock? I thought that was ran by PSN itself like xbox 360...
There are internal clocks in everything...

Happened for a couple weeks. Seriously, it's only 24 hours until they fix it. If you can't wait 24 hours, stop :spergin: about videogames.

Oh god, your avatar is the fucking best. I love you.
On topic, this seems like a simple error. Reminds me of that Zune error a while ago, and Y2K.
I think people who have PS3's dont mind as much purely because PSN is a free service and the community generally is a lot more mature than xbox lives daycare center.

Sums the debate up.

No, I mean like clocks that aren't run by the OS, but by itself...

I tried to log in right now and it did. It's officially working. (For me at least)
And I have a 40GB Console.
Damn, such a relief.
Works again, back to raging in MW2.
Isn't this EXACTLY what Y2K was all about?
Sneaky Mother Waited 10 years is all.
What a bastard!
