You are weak.

Farm the 4-3 manta's for souls, easiest with total protection then you can just spawn at the final arch stone, and get straight into killing.

Also, was doing 4-1 earlier on my new character as a human. Picked up a blue phantom, and moments later a black phantom joined. He was using a claymore and the adjudicators shield. He was obviously much higher level than the character i'm using and way above my blue phantom friend.
Anyway to cut a long story short he was using his adjudicators shield and musta been using a regen ring because I caught him from behind with my claymore +3 about 4 times doing 2/3rds of his health each time and he'd just run away. His regen gave him the advantage though and he eventualy killed my phantom friend, a new bluebie that I summoned to help and eventually me.
It's just annoying that I got him in the back so many times and his gear saved him from his lack of fighting abilities.
Grrr.

You know what would be fun? Dual wielding two +5 adjudicators' shields while wearing a regen ring while playing as the boss of 3-3 while rolling around and not attacking at all.

I didn't think they gave good souls.

You don't even need to do that. If you're Faith based you should get the Adjudicator's Shield, Blessed Miridian Hammer, and a Regen Ring. If you fully upgrade the Hammer and the Adjudicator's, that's +18hp/sec and a lot of hurting power behind ya.

Those rays are about 500-700 on average I find.

Storm Beasts gave around 1.4k souls on PBWT on my first run through the game.

My suggestion was strictly for the grieving factor, but that's a better idea for when you finally get bored and want to kill your victim after shattering his will to fight.
How many are there? How long does it take to kill them all? Wearing the Ring of Averice I got 6000 from the Reaper, and that was a 30 second run.

I think around thirteen. Time varies as you'll be dodging a lot of bolts from other beasts.
Oh, and do you just dart off the cliff surrounded by storm beast corpses after killing the reaper? Using the suicide method eliminates a loading screen, making runs faster.
The game becomes way too easy once you kill the Storm King. All you have to do is farm his area for souls and you're set.
Anyone know why I can't use Eye Stones? Maybe it could have to do with the fact that I'm too high level. My guy is at level 75 right now and I'm still on my first playthrough.

You need to be in spirit form.
You need to be in spirit form.
I also notice that you can't use them if you have 0 souls.
I played it when I visited my friends in AZ. I died actually trying in 1-1 and decided to just sprint to where I died (after the second guy with a shield) and it was CRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAZY

ive invaded a lot of games with zero souls
ive invaded a lot of games with zero souls
...Huh...
Musta been just a massive coincidence where I was standing and how many souls i've had.
I'm gonna start playing this game, I bought it a few weeks ago, but just now getting around to play for serious. (Last time it was just a test character kind of deal to see how the game worked and such.)
Well.. I've got about an hour and a half of play time, and I have no clue what I am supposed to do.. So far I've seen the red knight guy who rapes the shit out of you when you try and cross that bridge, and I have gone to this one place where there is a fucking dragon if you go one way, and the other way is a bridge that is guarded as fuck.
Where the fuck do I go to reach the first boss? the red knight guy can't be it, cuz fuuuuckkk thaaaaaatt. And the dragon? No. fucking. way. The bridge fucking PACKED with guys? I hope to god that isn't it..

Time it right to get by the dragon. You have to do it.

It's the guarded bridge mate :)
What you do is you run out, get close enough for a few of them to chase you then beat them up at the bottom of the stairs.
The red knight guy is for people to come back later on and beat when they have the key to get through the door he's guarding. And the two dragons guarding all the items on the floor will only leave you alone if you have full white tendancy.

Took down flamelurker on my new character on my 4th try going pure melee and not glitching him at all.
1st try : got boned within a few seconds.
2nd try : tried a different weapon got boned slower.
3rd try : changed tactic, did less attacks and blocked more, got him down to 1/3rd.
4th try : blocked nearly all the time, hit him only once every opening I got and back pedelled like shit. I didn't go below half health.
Did it with the purple flame shield and blessed mace +1 at level 35 :D

I have no clue what you are talking about. Where do I go? Turn left and there is a field full of dead things and a dragon overlooking it, or go straight and there is the bridge full of dudes.

Oh. Alright. Full white tendancy? Dunno what that means. I never went near the dragons anyway lol.

If you go on to the bridge of dudes a little bit, one of the dragons will fly overhead and breathe fire all over the bridge in an attempt to kill you, but it will kill some of the dudes instead. As soon as you hear the dragon approaching, run back to safety, and once the dragon passes, run to the other side of the bridge.
I just beat the storm king on my first try. It was much easier than the old hero.

He's talking about the bridge, you'll find out what he means soon enough.

Definatly. Did you pick up the sword from the zone?
Just started a new Temple Knight, female. Wanted the easier gear. XD I'm going for Faith build and heavy armor, but I killed Miralda and am wearing the Binded set for now. I cheesed her pretty good. If you're dead and wearing the Thief's Ring, you can drag her out of hiding, and as soon as you run back to the top of the hill start running to the gate, she should lose track of you and turn around and start walking back to her starting point. When she does this, run up behind her, backstab her, run away. Repeat until dead.
Found this out on accident.
+5 blessed mirdan? will dupe you one if you're around SL 75 or so I got lazy with my faith char. Unless of course you already have.

Don't even worry about World Tend. right now. For your first run, you'll just want to get to know the game.

Since I started that character I haven't played DS at all, and I'd rather not use dupes.
Well.. I went to the bridge and the dragon came yeah, so it killed the guys, but I ran to the place where it was guarding or whatever and snatched some items while it was gone.. I got a bit carried away, and the other dragon that was there killed me when it wasn't even awake.. :( I don't see how a swooping tail can kill you, but okay. Knock you around I could understand, but kill you in one hit, not much sense there. Oh well, guess I've learned not to go next to the dragons tail. But at least I got the item that was under it's tail.. :P (Although I was picking shit up so fast I didn't get to see what item was where.)

Nice. I just found out that trick the other day. The only really good loot there is the Purple Flame Shield. Also, imagine a truck hitting you at 60 mph. That's probably what getting hit by that tail feels like.

I suppose you are right. I got the shield you speak of, I can't actually use it effectively though. I am a thief. Only 9 strength at the moment.
If you raise your Str to 22 that is as high as you'll ever need it, which is also the minimum needed to wield the shield.
I still haven't beaten the first boss actually. Haven't even gotten to it yet because I haven't played since the tail killed me. Simply because I was tired when it happened and went to bed. Then today someone else has been playing the PS3.
