Demon's Souls - "I'm in trouble — please recommend this thread!" - Games

I can't find this at any of the stores near me. Not even Walmart nor Best Buy have it. WTF.

Is there any way to play this with a friend? Like can you just tell your friend to meet you at a certain area and then you'll be able to summon them or would you just have to be lucky enough to be on the same server or what?

Eh, that would take away from the game I think. Something about playing this game by yourself almost 100% of the time makes you feel truly alone and desperate and it adds to the games atmosphere.

I don't like facing phantoms alone, it's scary and breaks my heart.

I took the jumping route to get to the boss quickly and he followed me. I refused to do down further and he would not come to me and we stood off until he was not looking and fell to his death.

I've done it on many occasions. You can also trade loot with others. For those of you having trouble with black phantoms, learn to use a great sword or the Dragon Bone Smasher. If you're adequately skilled with one or the other, you can keep a guy pinned down on the ground indefinitely. It becomes even easier if the weight of their gear slows them down. Hell, you could also use it to smack the bitch off a ledge. I absolutely love my fully blessed great sword. Outstanding physical & magical damage and it regenerates health to boot. My current character is around level 258. Equipment is that sword and either a sticky compound long bow or quality winged spear in his right hands and the phosphorescent pole & talisman of beasts in his left. Wears Sage Freke's outfit but I replaced the hood with the ancient king's helmet.

I'm getting all excited. I sent Skate 2 back yesterday and so I'm waiting for Gamefly to recieve notice from USPS and tell me what game I'm getting next. (Last time they sent me Lego Batman instead of Demon's Souls)

Dying so much at the palace, dragon fire bridge, god damn :P This game is so addictive and fucking awesome though!

I think I'm gonna have to stop reading this thread. I get too excited to play and I'm stuck at work. (Freaking overtime.)

This game rocks so much! Soul level 28 at the moment, magician, and loving every minute of it (despite alot of deaths initially). I just did my first black phantom invasion on 4-2 (good farming level by the way), and invaded someone called Cortina. She was a wanderer I believe, using the Abjudicaters Shield and a Scimitar, and some magic. I cast my water veil spell to block some of her fireballs, she was getting alot of hp down on me at the start, so I ran downstairs. I threw some soul arrows at her and a few fire blasts, she used some herbs and regenerated real quick. Ran in for some quick blows with my Crested Falchion, got her to half hp with that flurry, then stood back and blasted her with fire. She died, but then it said 'Cortina Left, This session has ended' does that mean I won? Or did she disconnect to cheat me out of it? Was fun anyway.

You won, but she pulled the plug like a [B]bitch[/B] so she would not lose a soul level. If you invade and lose, you lose a level from a random stat of your three highest. Beat World 4. Final boss of that is easy but pretty epic. It's made easy by a special weapon sitting in the same area. Picked up Firestorm and Homing Soul Arrow between worlds and took on 5-1. Firestorm makes that boss your bitch, so pick it up before you go.

You won't been invaded [I]all[/I] the time but it will happen occasionally, you'll always find messages around and new bloodstains so you know people are playing. You'll find Soul Sigil's outside some common areas like Flamelurker and other bosses or near the start of some levels, but not usually outside of that. Also, server maintenance on Dec 16, from 22:00-24:00 (PST).

I haven't seen any ghost people or messages all morning. WTF. I love reading those.

Onward to NG+ at a later time. Also, two "Wow." moments. Beating Maiden Astraea. That is some awesome music in that area. It's also another encounter that makes me want to know more about the world and the characters. and You really gotta respect people sometimes when they invade your game. I just got invaded twice in a row. First time I was with a Blue and the Black one shot him with Firestorm. o.o I managed to run him down enough and kill him because he was lacking mana. Second time was a guy in full Gloom with a Dragon sword and this guy had me fucking working to kill him. This was all in 1-4, but the second time happened on the opposed side of the Blue Dragon. We fought in that little room with the stairs and after a while I was thinking of how I would knock this guy down. I tried something dumb and tried to get him to run into the dragon's fire after me but I died. I sent him a good game message and he sent be one back giving me all kinds of respect for the fight.

Well, that happens anyway if you have full White Tend.
