I found a Dragons Long Sword and have been using that for a while now, but seriously, the whole level of 2-2 is terrible, only in terms of it's ridiculous as I have no access to any real degree of magic yet. Only a healing miracle.
Aren't the Bearbug's vulnerable to slashing?
Is it possible to do a melee only run in this? :D
Yes, but hard as shit.
Aren't the Bearbug's vulnerable to slashing? Yes, but hard as shit.
Littles ones, yea, but the big ones and flamelurker himself don't suffer too much from any physical attack.
Every time I play 2-2 I just go to Patches, go back to the start, and then head to the boss via the mine shaft. So much easier.
I can't even get past 2-1. Damn armor spider and her resistance to Flame Toss and Soul Ray! Those are the only attack spells I have right now.
Thief's Ring, a bow, 100 arrows. It won't event notice you when you walk into the fog, so you can plink away.
I went up to the spider and literally just sliced the shit out of it, I beat it on my first try but I got LUCKY since it was charging it's Flame Breath. Also, if you want to learn spells just play through 3-1 for a bit up until you get the "Special Key" and then try to find Sage Freke's cell. It WILL take a long ass time to find him, but it is worth it. If you are going to play through the rest of the level, I'll just warn you NOT to try putting up your shield and walking down the arrow path. It does not work. And the boss isn't that hard if you can remember where these stun plates that she sets are. Although she does create clones, I know the easy way of identifying the REAL one. Look at what her clones a shooting, Soul Arrow it seems, right? The REAL one seems to shoot something like Soul Light and Soul Arrow combined, so you can stand behind the pillars and watch what they shoot, another tell-tale is that the clones have the standard enemy healthbar and NOT the boss healthbar. So if one has a healthbar above it's head when you target it, it's a clone.
ng++++++ or some shit now I'm losing track. 3 weapon upgrades short :crying: marrowstone, bladestone and cloudstone. Time to get world 4 black n farm :suicide: [editline]04:08PM[/editline]
I went up to the spider and literally just sliced the shit out of it, I beat it on my first try but I got LUCKY since it was charging it's Flame Breath. Went through 2-1 as a human earlier in NG+. I was in the zone for barely 20 seconds before I was invaded. I scrabbled around and found 2 blue stone marks on the floor and brought some pals in to help. Couldn't find the BP anywhere at the entrance of the zone and he only showed up when we got to just past the dogs. We beat his shit down quite hard. Just after that in the tunnels and the lesser of the two phantoms got put to rest by a sneak attack from a random goblin so then it was just me and this random guy pointlessly dual wielding broadswords. Less than 2 minutes after the killing the 1st black phantom there was another invasion, we went back to meet him and caved his head in too. The third one came within 10 seconds of that one dying. It seems that you can't be invaded any more than 3 times in one sitting? Is this true? Anyway, we went and killed Armor Spider and it was all dandy. Netted about 50k from the invaders alone and I found out how good my blueblood sword + light weapon is. On the last phantom it was hitting for 380 on a standard R1 hit, about 450 on an R2. So thats two hit kills in pvp :D, its ludicrous!
I was invaded seven times in 2-1 within an hour. Killed all those mother fuckers by myself.
Ah thanks, thats good and bad to know :) It's nice that a game developer has discovered a way to make us actually hate the enemies we're fighting.
Holy shit I want this game right now
3-1 Guards remind me of C'Thulu.
I'm gonna buy this in a few days for sure.
I'm gonna buy this in a few days for sure.
Yeah me too... ...if i would have a PS3 :saddowns:
Is there a trick to get past the damned dragon in 1-2? I got past it once, and got slaughtered by the enemies right after.
Is there a trick to get past the damned dragon in 1-2? I got past it once, and got slaughtered by the enemies right after.
You have to time your runs. And let it fly by once to kill all the enemies on the bridges. You can kill it too. Grab the bow at the top of the second tower (short compound long bow) and go back to the Nexus. Buy 100 arrows and run back to the first tower. Shoot it every time it flies by and you should kill it easy.
the 1-4 boss sucks he keeps draining my soul level
the 1-4 boss sucks he keeps draining my soul level
Don't go combo crazy on old man Allant. Just whack him once or twice then back off. Also, try to smack him when he charges his area of effect attacks. You'll disrupt his attack and deal greater damage. Lastly, supposedly if he drains one of your soul levels and you die later on in the battle, you can retrieve your lost souls plus the souls he supposedly drained from you off of your bloodstain.

You can also cheese him with the Thief's Ring and Poison Cloud. Hide behind one of the walls and wait until he walks to the edge of the stairs and turns around, not facing you. WALK up the stairs to the top step, target him, cast poison cloud, walk back down behind the wall. He won't sense you and you can kill him in about 6 casts. Takes a while tho, but it is the easiest way possible.
How long does sticky white stuff last generally?
60 seconds.
Damn.
I'm always seeing messages in front of the female NPCs reading 'sticky white stuff.' What the devs were thinking when they named that item is beyond me.
They were thinking "Man, this is going to be hilarious."
I kind of love seeing "poor guy" on the dead hero's and soldiers I find laying around. Especially in 3-1. I finally beat Flamelurker, I'm going to have to find/make a blessed weapon to help deal magic damage later though, according to that wiki it's Blessed that is strengthened by faith, not moon. Though, there are a lot of mistranslations on there.
I'm assuming you're playing a Temple Knight. Take your Halberd and upgrade it to +3 then make it into a Dragon Halberd. Why? Because World 5 is where you pick up all your major weapons in a Faith build (LSoM, Meridian Hammer, that spear in 1-1) and everything there is weak to fire, so it's almost OP on a first run, maybe even a second. And I think I mentioned earlier that Moon is Magic and Blessed is Faith.

God-fucking-damnit I want this but I don't have enough money and can't import :<
You have to time your runs. [editline]12:23PM[/editline] I've noticed NG+ really highlights the flaws in your character build also.
