Thanks. I clarified the one day thing. If it is in stock, you should receive it the day after shipping
Here's the chat log:
Me:When I preorder and item, will it come sooner if I do Release-Date Delivery or One-Day Delivery? This item is Portal 2 for PC. Arpna :Yes of course if you do release date delivery you will receive it sooner Me:How much sooner than one day? Arpna :In one day you will receive it overnight but in release date you will receive it the same day it is released Me:Now that I check, it seems that Release Date Delivery isn't available for Portal 2 for PC. It says so on the page, but it doesn't give the option during check out. And this isn't for me, this is for a few friends who want to get the game on release. Can you check to see why this is? Arpna :Sure I will check it. Is the item in your cart? Me:No. Would you like me to link it? Arpna :Please do so Me:http://www.amazon.com/Portal-2-Pc/dp/B002I0JIQW/ Arpna :Thank you Arpna :Thanks so much for waiting. Me:You're very welcome Arpna :I have checked it and depends on the inventory status May be the address that you are selecting there are no inventories left in those areas Me:The must not be that much stock then, because my friends live in quite a few different states. But thanks so much for your time. Arpna :You are welcome Is there anything else I can assist you with today? Me:Nope. Thanks again! Arpna :Thanks for visiting Amazon.com. We hope to see you again soon! Bye!
I hope this clears up some things. Release date shipping is the fastest shipping available, and one day shipping will ship the night after. And, if release date shipping doesn't show, it probably means that the warehouses have little or no inventory left.
You are now connected to Zainab from Amazon.com. Me:I am looking at the Portal 2 for PC info page and it says that it is eligible for Release Date shipping. However, when I go to check out, the option isn't listed. I tried this for the PS3 and Xbox versions of the game, and Release Date shipping is an option during checkout. What is the problem?3:53:49 PM Zainab:Hello, my name is Zainab. I'll be happy to help you today.3:53:56 PM Zainab:Orders must be placed at least 5 days before the published release date for this shipping option to be available, Shoe Phone.3:55:15 PM Zainab:I'm sorry for the inconvenience caused, Shoe Phone.3:55:59 PM Me:That makes sense but my friend was offered free one day shipping from another rep earlier today.3:56:39 PM Zainab:Can you hold for a minute or two while I look in to this for you?3:58:41 PM Me:Sure3:58:58 PM Zainab:Under the circumstances, as a one-time exception I'll upgrade the shipping method to one - day shipping, Shoe Phone.4:00:33 PM Zainab:I'll issue refund of shipping once item ships, Shoe Phone.4:00:47 PM Zainab:Is this find, Shoe Phone?4:00:56 PM Zainab:I'll issue refund of shipping charges, after item ships, Shoe Phone.4:01:12 PM Me:Alright4:01:18 PM Me:thank you.4:01:21 PM Zainab:Is this fine, Shoe Phone?4:01:22 PM Zainab:New Ship Charges are $9.98, Shoe Phone.4:01:54 PM Zainab:I'll issue refund of $9.98 once your order ships on April 20, 2011, Shoe Phone.4:02:41 PM Me:Alright4:02:56 PM Me:thnaks for the help, Zainab4:03:02 PM Zainab:You’re welcome. Have a great day.4:03:33 PM Zainab from Amazon.com has left the conversation.
I meant to post this earlier but was unsure if I should. Hopefully this helps some of you.
I'm fine with waiting an extra day if it saves me $15 dollars.
I meant to post this earlier but was unsure if I should. Hopefully this helps some of you.
I wonder why if release day shipping is available for Xbox 360 and PS3, then why it isn't available for PC.
I wish Amazon would give you the code to preload it on Steam when you order it; then I'd certainly get it from them.
I wish Amazon would give you the code to preload it on Steam when you order it; then I'd certainly get it from them.
Well the disc that comes with the PC version obviously has Portal 2 on it, so there is no need to preload. Steam preload is for impatient people. I'd rather save $10 than get the game at the exact time it is released, even if it is released early. [editline]16th April 2011[/editline] And it's nice to have a disc so you don't have to download it again if you uninstall it.
Nevermind, I have Prime and these are the shipping options I got (AKA the usual Prime options): [img_thumb]http://img535.imageshack.us/img535/8609/portal2shipping.png[/img_thumb] If anyone without Prime wants free two-day shipping, I could do it for you, but you'd have to trust me with your credit card info and address. :fuckyou:
I get Amazon Prime for free because I'm a student. It gets me all the Prime features except the new video/movie service. :saddowns:

I just started the prime free trial and it gives me the option for free release date shipping with the PS3 version.
