Valve's quality becoming worse? - Games

Valve did it right with Portal, I [i]still[/i] play it, (even though I know what's going to happen) and enjoy it's gameplay. that's normal right

i agree OP, i hate the way L4D2 was so rushed, wished they'd fix origins and body awareness too. And for TF2? i don't have a fucking clue what to do anymore. i came back after this whole WAR shinanigan and it's like suddently like runescape with flamethrowers. I am not certain what is the status of the company at the moment either. L4D series are a bunch of cliche gimmicky bullshit in my opinion, i am genuinely sorry to have wasted any money of them whatsoever. They deserve 10$ each at best, especially considering the fact that i have one game in my Steam list that managed to entertain me for almost 3 years now which costs exactly that, called Gmod. Both of the games feel "plasticy", square, casual, and lacking. I would not even be that disappointed normally, but L4D was cooked up by the same people that created a game series that revolutionized FPS gaming twice. I am concerned, Valve is one of the only "pillars" of genuinely original gaming left out there, and unfortunately it appears to me that even such a precious pillar is starting to become infected with a disease that has consumed most of the gaming world by this time, or at least a noticeable part of it. The only thing that calms me down is the apparent fact that L4D was created by Turtle Rock that was purchased by Valve. In that case i could safely blame Turtle Rock for being idiots, and not the actual genuine Valve. And in a way blame Valve for being idiots for purchasing Turtle Rock in the first place. I may be misunderstanding something, but so far Valve owning Turtle Rock is comparable to Hercules starting to smoke and do drugs, or breaking one of his legs. If you do not like Greek mythology then you can use Chuck Norris if you want. Tf2 has a bunch of problems as well, but there is no need in making this wall of text any larger, i actually quite like it in the end.

L4D1 was perfect, and was made by Turtle Rock. L4D2 wasn't so perfect, and was made by Valve. Hmm..

But in the first game, Turtle Rock still had most control over what is added and removed from the game. Valve had all control over L4D2 and they let their imaginations go wild with the game to the point where they forgot quanity doesn't surpase quality.

I am getting so sick and tired of the damn Counter Strike weapon sounds being used over and over again.

No offense OP but just because you got bored of playing some of Valve's game doesn't mean the company is hitting rock bottom. It's your negative [i]opinion[/i] vs the millions of positive opinions (myself included). I have yet to see what exactly defines Valve as "worse" in any of the arguments in this thread.

It's just you and 6 years of lack of half-life. For all we know, they can release an awesome trailer, with a new awesome engine and ground-breaking graphics at E3, they've done this before. While they are at it, mixing baked and dynamic lighting provides the best results.

Both L4D and L4D2 were steaming piles of shit and I regret buying them

I was extremely disappointed with L4D2. I feel like it was a waste of money. Bought it for Christmas and played only about 7 hours since then. Confusing, either too large or too narrow and small maps with no ideas. Hunters nearly useless, even worse with the smokers. Good ol' night times with Zoey, Louis.. hell even Francis and Bill.
