Seriously, they showed a lot of mapping progress, enemies and the unique events from the original Half-Life. They have all the knowledge, tech and skill in house. Why would they quit?

Then why are you saying it's dead, but you saw fully updated twitter and forums?
When they released the trailer year ago I think they said there won't be any media release until official release of the mod. That's why the news page wasn't updated, now they have twitter and youtube profiles to give few comments or show some features.

Not really, for all the time and effort the Black Mesa team put into this they deserve some money.

If that meant the BM: S team would remake Opposing Forces and Blue Shift, I wouldn't mind paying. Even then, I paid $10 for Gmod, I wouldn't mind paying for BM: S anyways.
