They used a laundry cart as a placeholder until they modeled the crystal cart.

you never know, once they get all the model work done for black mesa, blue shift will be less work. plus it's shorter
Blue Shift is plausable. It re-used almost everything from Half-Life, very little cutsom content, it's mainly just voice and maps that'll need to be made.
Opposing Force, however, I don't see being redone ever.

It's coming out at the end of this year/early next year.
And as Mr Someguy said, Blue Shift reused pretty much everything from HL. So it wouldn't take as long to make.
