Am i the only one that thinks that a remake of HL1 is one of the best HL2 mods is kinda weird ?

Unfortunately, the mod should be in near-finished state by now
I admire your optimism.
Hahahaha!
People on the forums thought today would be the release date.
Where?
Am i the only one that thinks that a remake of HL1 is one of the best HL2 mods is kinda weird ?
well HL1 was said to be one of the best games of all time so to some people its a big deal and not that strange.
I can't wait for it. Will give me something sorta new to play. Been bored out of my mind resently.
They'll obviously release it the same day HL1 was originally released.
Am i the only one that thinks that a remake of HL1 is one of the best HL2 mods is kinda weird ?
Well alot of people think HL1 is an amazing game. I mean it did win those 50(or was it 90?) awards.
They'll obviously release it the same day HL1 was originally released.
Wait, like 8 years ago :raise: ?
Same day, not same year, dumbass.
Same day, not same year, dumbass.
i think he was kidding...
Get the timemachine :P
They'll obviously release it the same day HL1 was originally released.
:( November 18.
I feel BM(s) has lost the half-life feel.
See, This is what angers me the most about the mod and i wish more people would see past the flashy graphics. The dev team of this is not doing a proper remake, They are making a tech-demo slapped pointlessly and carelessly over Half-Life. Throwing away the results of years of research by Valve making gameplay an exacting science for the sake of showing off some shiny tech and fancy models is downright criminal. Does the team realize or care about the error of their ways? No. They choose to keep things in no matter how retarded they are just because "Ohhh we spent too much effort in making this and i'm too proud to not cut this out and i expect everyone to like it and if they don't i'm gonna ban all who don't and CRY! :crying:" The smart thing to do would be to cut them out of the game. Which is exactly what Valve did for Half-Life 2. But no, Not with this team. They are willing and purposely tossing everything the made Half-Life the game it is for the sake of their own visual features.

The BMS team should remove all detail from every corridor, worsen the sound quality and voice acting, and go back to the gldsrc engine. That'll give it the Half-Life feel.
:words:
'the hell are you on about? How would you remake HL then? Besides, some of the features they talk about adding seems to be more advanced than VALVe themselves. The random face generator, for example.
its suposed to be a complete remake of the first with all the same map layouts and characters just with the source engne graphics and physics, right?
its suposed to be a complete remake of the first with all the same map layouts and characters just with the source engne graphics and physics, right?
It's like half-life 1 on steroids
So you've played it? :downs:
I was about to ask the same thing. Wait until it's come out before you start trying to judge the game, people. You can only tell so much from trailers and promotional videos. :downs:
Wait, like 8 years ago :raise: ?
11 :crossarms:
Is it out yet? :downs:
How about now?
Half-Life Feel? What is this bullshit, I don't care about some "feel" Half life had If the game is just a carbon copy clone it would suck ass.
its suposed to be a complete remake of the first with all the same map layouts and characters just with the source engne graphics and physics, right?
It's to make up for all of the disappointment the people had after they saw that HL: Source was just that: a simple conversion. Black Mesa (hold the 'source'. Legal issues in the way!) is essentially a completely new game that has the same plot. Just go on the website and check the media. That's no simple texture enhancement!
Get the timemachine :P
Going back in time, and releasing the mod as a standalone game as a competitor to the game it's based on? Congratulations! You've successfully put Valve out of business and torn a hole in the fabric of the universe! :v:
If the Black Mesa team did HL2, this is what the AR2 would look like.

Holy Flying Jesus, look at the detail.
:( November 18.
Fuck that, I'll be playing L4D2.
Holy Flying Jesus, look at the detail.
But its cartoony
Doesn't look a bit cartoonish.
