aaaaa damn you garry why does this thread keep getting unsubscribed?!
Looking into compatibumbum now.
[editline]3rd November 2012[/editline]
It's that time of the year again. I wonder if WorldGuard supports 1.3 yet?
Current v1.4 compatibility:
Required before update:
Bukkit (Stable build): Updated
Essentials: OUT OF DATE (Dev build available maybe?)
Multiverse: OUT OF DATE (Dev build available)
WorldEdit: OUT OF DATE (Dev build available)
WorldGuard: OUT OF DATE (Dev build available)
LogBlock: Updated
Would prefer to have but don't actually need:
Dynmap: Updated
Can happily live without:
Bookworm: OUT OF DATE (hah like this will ever update)

I think we should just forget bookworm. We have a much better vanilla alternative now.
How is it "much better"?
You can only have one copy of each book and you can't store them in bookshelves.

You can stick them in chests though, and it's not really that immersion-breaking to have a chest in the library with books rather than clicking on bookcases to find a book.
Plus, since it's vanilla we don't have to wait on it to update.

I think the "only one copy of each book" is a bigger issue anyway
There is a reason bookworm is in the "Can happily live without" category. We've not had it on the server since 1.2
I'm still tracking it though, since we still have 200+ books written in it and I would quite like to be able to restore our libraries at some point.
The "one copy of each book" thing is a serious problem though, since I like to think of our server as a museum of sorts.
People come in, they browse around the various things people have created and so forth. They used to be able to wander around our various libraries and read what people had written with a single right click. If they have to go to chests and pick up the only copy of people's books, click through them and then reliably put them back in the chests, we're going to start losing volumes (and immersion)

Is bukkit already on 1.4?
Is bukkit already on 1.4?
Yeah. Surprisingly enough, they actually updated within a week of the update coming out.
That's impressively speedy for the Bukkit team.

You have a point there, I guess. The vanilla books are really susceptible to loss. It would be nice if each one took up a damage value or was copyable, both in the same manner as the maps. If a map gets lost, you can just say /give [data value for maps] 1 [# of map you lost] and you'll get it back; it would be nice if that worked the same for books.

Maybe not many things were broken for a change.
Any update on those server mods?

With the 1.4.5 update, is everything once again broken?
With the 1.4.5 update, is everything once again broken?
1.4.5 is compatible with 1.4.4
I think multiverse has updated
Yeaaah, I'm out. Sorry guys. There is no way I can keep up with my job and run a server at the same time.
I'll upload all the server files somewhere soon, so if someone else wants to deal with everything they can.
So can anyone host the server, or is this thing dead now?
fuck
*sadface* If not for the fact i've been unable to host ANY MC servers lately, i would do it.
Here I am just discovering this awesome thing and it's dead :saddowns:

Yeah, I have been looking for a new Minecraft server to go on and this seemed just like the perfect one. It is a shame that it is dead.
I miss playing here for the brief time that I did. Hopefully that chance will come again.
I cannot join :(.... - SCP-[DATA EXPUNGED]
IMPORTANT NEWS
I might be able to run a server! If I can get the maps and the right plugins. I can get it up and running again
I miiight have to install Adcraft on the server to pay for hosting, but if I can get donations, I wouldnt have to

Until then, I know I'm capable of hosting (a smaller) server just on my computer though I'm not sure the other people in the building would appreciate it. I'll look into that.
fun fact: before lexic took over that's how the server was up anyway!
