I hope that, on March 11, Gabe delivers a speech in which he completely ignores all the speculation and hype and just says some generic stuff about the game industry. Then Valve go silent for a week - no interviews, no updates, nothing. Then they announce Portal 2. Steam Forums would be hilarious in that week. They would be freaking the fuck out.
The calendar in chamber 17 says it's 1986 or something close to that
Chell was in a stasis bed* in the relaxation vault. I don't think there is any direct evidence of when Portal takes place
well the old log on Aperturescience.com said they were working with 20 year old equipment, so that would put it sometime after HL1 during the portal storms, I thought this was established already?.
I'm pretty sure the Aperture Science facilities have been empty for a while. Then again, they could have just evacuated right before you wake up, who knows?
Watch out, there's a spy in there!
Wait, the whole of the TF2 cast is there.
look what i found
Where did you find it? Anwyays, looks like some sort of ground type of thing... idk, just guessing here.
I don't think this is the case, mainly because I think the portal gun is mostly for portal-making, not gravity-gunning. Those three claws seem to relate to anti-gravity manipulation, with only the centre acting as the pulse that flings stuff. In the portal gun the centre seems to be taken up entirely by the portal-firing mechanism. Also, all Mossman says about the gravity gun is that it's "not a toy". That's literally her only line in reference to it. There's nothing in there to suggest that the rebels didn't build it, especially since they managed to build a functioning teleportation system out of scrap metal.
Gordon and Kliener's cat beg to differ.
[img_thumb]http://img717.imageshack.us/img717/4319/drtroll.jpg[/img_thumb] look what i found
Filename: drtroll.jpg
I'll probably be freakin late so don't flame me but why is the Garden Gnome from HL2 in the http://www.aperturescience.com/ vid..
It's a promotional site for The Orange Box made before it was even released. Now don't ever speak of that useless site again.
look what i found
Oh hey it's Dwarf Fortress.
Gordon and Kliener's cat beg to differ.
Uhh, what cat?
With Alyx. DUN DUN DUNH
With Mossman. :smug:
Wait, the whole of the TF2 cast is there.
No wait, it's just Gabe.
So is there a reason why it's 76 steps?
Yes, use some common sense. BBS are old terminals and thus limited to 80 characters in width, and if you had a margin of 2 characters on each side to make the bar look good, that makes 76
I clicked Post and two posts were already underneath mine :geno:
