Note how the weed has grown into the portal, and started a tiny forest in the old GLaDOS room. This probably means that or 1. we will indeed have timetravel, OR there's been so many time between the games that the weed took his time to grow. It's a pretty big possibility that Portal 2 will be playing during the HL2 storyline.
