I have to admit that I'm a tad bit curious to see what kind of "singleplayer" content will be available in the ESO. But I'll be smart enough to wait until the game crashes and burns and goes F2P before indulging myself.
I want to say it's all spin but you never know. Except we sort of know.
I want to say it's all spin but you never know. Except we sort of know.
I wanna see if they can make worse quests than Bethesda.
I'm too lazy to watch that entire video. What are the four classes? [editline]19th March 2013[/editline] If they were specified, of course.
it took me a year
Oh yeah, well it took me a... tw... uhm, forever. Yeah, I still don't even know that you can sprint. Top that.

Do anyone know why the fuck the cyclone spell is not accessible without mod? This is the best fucking thing ever!
Do anyone know why the fuck the cyclone spell is not accessible without mod? This is the best fucking thing ever!
Because it's a shout added by Dragonborn.

So, after starting a new playthrough of Oblivion, I think I finally found which quest is my favorite. It's Lifting the Vale, the one where you need to find the Draconian Madstone for the Countess of Bruma's collection of Akaviri Artifacts. Just the thought of entering a Fort that's over 1,000 years old and laying the containing spirits to rest is pretty heartwarming.
Because it's a shout added by Dragonborn.
Well fuck... That cyclone is pretty cool tho.
is dragonborn any good?
Skyrim DLC has been quite similar to old expansions and plugins, so quite neat all in all. Try to get them on a Steam sale tho.
Dragonborn is better than dawnguard. Still not quite worth the 20 dollars I think, considering it certainly doesn't have 33% of skyrims content by comparison (to justify being 33% the price of skyrim) nor does it add any new major game features. I haven't really got around to playing through it, the morrowind atmosphere of dragonborn had the adverse effect of making me start playing morrowind instead of skyrim :suicide: Would be worth buying when on sale. [editline]20th March 2013[/editline] Surprisingly though Dragonborn's OST is better than skyrims, odd considering it's just a dlc. My only issue with Dragonborn is that it's another railroad into the main quest if you really want to get the most out of it.
The whole thing is a railroad I just wanted to explore and every time I slept the game was literally dragging me into the storyline. It's like that scene from the mountain climbing episode of the Simpsons where when homer sleeps the Sherpas drag him up the mountain before he wakes up. I mean fuck, why not just play the game for me? "Oh hey you seem to be doing stuff that's not centered around the storyline, here, let me correct that for you."
I'd complain more with you but I'm getting the feeling that I've hit that note so hard the thread is collectively willing to send me a letter bomb. [editline]20th March 2013[/editline] [SUB][sp]It's also a reminder that Bethesda has to literally copy their past to produce decent material[/sp][/SUB]
Oh yeah, well it took me a... tw... uhm, forever. Yeah, I still don't even know that you can sprint. Top that.
How can you know what you don't know?
Some new TESO Ingame footage spliced in an interview. Thanks to Dustinm16 for posting this in the news thread. [editline]19th March 2013[/editline] So, there are 4 classes, and each class has 3 core skill trees. But you don't have to use the skill trees at all. Think of classes as more of a template, you can follow it, but you don't have to. Roll a Magic class, but just use Swords.
It looked like complete shit, but now i've seen this... My opinion has changed.
I'm actually really pumped for TESO, see it that way: People can use TESO to help them create Tamriel rebuilt, or create Hammerfell from scratch, And this is awesome.
I'm convinced it's far from ideal - I'd rather have BethSoft take a few years off and craft it around a more in-depth SP experience, or have modders with all the time in the world to spare work out Morrowind in far more detail than the TESO team could. (And they probably have, given (a) the sweet time they took to release Telvannis, and (b) the fact that they're able to simultaneously tease the quasi-SHoTN portions *and* Amalexia.)
It looked like complete shit, but now I've seen this... My opinion has changed.
Actually the combat looks really stale. It looks like Skyrim's combat with a hotbar, which is an improvement in terms of a MMO, but not much as a RPG. You can even see the animations suddenly switching to a casting animation instantly, which indicates hotkey combat. It may be a good MMO, but a horrible elder scrolls game. I wonder if the fanboys will be able to fuel this game longer than that Star Wars game.
I only just realized Skyrim's price has been permanently lowered to $40. How long's it been this way?
http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2013/03/20/zenimax-on-tesos-first-person-mode-mudcrab-armies/ Mudcrabs and Cliff Racers confirmed for ESO.
Oh yeah, well it took me a... tw... uhm, forever. Yeah, I still don't even know that you can sprint. Top that.
It's perfectly excusable since the default sprint key is alt, a binding which is in pretty much no other game. I'm not sure if it's in any of the tutorial prompts, but the only reason I knew about it was because it was shown off in the E3 videos so I hunted around the keyboard until I found it. [editline]20th March 2013[/editline] suck my dick bethesda the radiant AI shit you showed off in these videos was obviously fake, but the shadows? why didn't you keep in the shadows?! you could've just put them as an option in the PC version, they would have made it age much more gracefully and this shit: as I said before, the radiant AI stuff I don't care about because it was obviously fake, but they must have got someone to do the throat cancer dark elf voice for this video but not in the full game! why? fucking hell [editline]20th March 2013[/editline]
So, after starting a new playthrough of Oblivion, I think I finally found which quest is my favorite. Just the thought of entering a Fort that's over 1,000 years old and laying the containing spirits to rest is pretty heartwarming.
most of the oblivion quests are amazeballs - tracking down a 'vampire hunter' in bruma, finding a vampire living under castle skingrad that keeps kidnapping and eating prisoners, having a mental guy tell you to tail people then kill them (which you can resolve in multiple ways), being locked in a house with other people who you had to kill covertly, them getting more and more panicked as their numbers dwindled, also every time you had to sneak through a castle to steal something using secret passages etc [editline]20th March 2013[/editline] also, how much does a new CPU improve your skyrim performance? I'm going from a Q9550 to an i5 3570K that I'm probably going to overclock, I'm guessing that since skyrim (and oblivion) is such a script heavy game with so much going on I'd get a lot more performance?
Happily swimming around underwater, turn around and see this... [t]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/540703713371609564/13B169F2CF22D64BF7C8FE484AFC06A24C080745/[/t]
Well, playing as a Dunmer if I buy that game.
The devs for TESO are actually listening to some of the feedback they get it appears. I'm not 100% set on it being a great game, but its certainly shaping up more and more. I just want to see some first person gameplay now.
I got good news. Remember a few days ago, I was complaining that Skyrim was broken thanks to the 1.9 patch? You probably don't, but I found out, it wasn't Skyrim that was broken, it was all my current saves! New saves are entirely fixed, though. It's kinda okay that only all my current saves were broken, considering that my only REAL characters were a Dunmer Spellsword who is a reverent worshipper of Azura, Boethiah, and Mephala, and a Nord Paladin who is the descendant of Tiber Septim due to my likely very faulty logic. Might do a Redguard Pirate Captain who uses light-armor and dual-wields, and this has nothing to do with the Deathbrand armor which satisfies those exact needs...
Since the Emperor has to have Dragonblood to rule, and Dragonblood is only passed down in the Royal Family, doesn't that mean that the player character in Skyrim is the rightful heir to the throne?
And Orsimer: [t]http://i47.tinypic.com/2r20ugz.jpg[/t]
Thank fuck they changed it from If anything you have to hand it to them, it looks like they're cleaning up some of the really shitty bits and listening to complaints to some degree.
