You can climb under it, in a dungeon.

And the weapon mechanics of Chivalry.
We can all dream once in a while, but no matter how much we improve in an open world game, there will always be something bad. Improve mechanics, the story sucks. Improve the story, gameplay is reduced. Make gameplay exceptional, ai doesn't cope with it and ends up seeming dumb. Improve AI, the game becomes "too hard" and some stuff may end up getting hard coded. No developer team is able to make a perfect open world game. They could make a brilliant linear game, but once you start expanding it, problems tend to grow just like the size of the game.

What do you mean by that?
What do you mean by that?
I think he's talking about how you can stab through visor slits and weak points in armor. If you had the satisfying combat in Dark Messiah with those mechanics...oh god, that would be fucking incredible.
So... A Medieval/Magic simulator on Tamriel?

Dark Messiah combat was fun until endgame where it took like 15-20 hits to kill a single enemy with a decent sword.
Kicking dudes off cliffs and stuff would be way more satisfying than using unrelenting force.
i think chivalry: medieval warfare's combat is better
adds uses to shields and parrying

also this isnt chivalry this is War of the Roses
Chivalry's combat mechanics are great, but like most games it does dick-all to represent armor, though I guess TES is not much better in that regard..
I'd love a combat system that relies on both player skill and character stats, where you actually need to exploit proper weapon technique to pierce armor. Not necessarily in TES, but just in a singleplayer RPG at some point. Would make for really intense and tactical combat.
Oh god what.
Every time I talk to him, that's all I see. First time I saw him, I thought his nostrils were his eyes.
Wow, it looks a lot like an orc if you imagine the nostrils as eyes like that.

that doesn't happen in Chivalry. In chivalry there are different attacks, like overhead, stab etc. that have different speed/damage.
Every time I talk to him, that's all I see. First time I saw him, I thought his nostrils were his eyes.
Funniest part to me was the fact on how much he bent his neck trying to talk to me like that.
i think chivalry: medieval warfare's combat is better

Huh, Parry and shields in Dark Messiah are Vital... Also there is Clashing (and Shield bash but that is almost all games), so Chivalry in my opinion is not better combat wise.

I'm pretty sure there is all of that, but Dark Messiah lack of some heavy weapon like Hammers or stuff.
[sp]I like Dark Messiah, if you haven't guessed[/sp]

dark messiah is very spammy
sure, its satisfying choppin an orcs head off or kicking them off a cliff, but chivalry's is much more realistic and skill-based
messiah's is just "wait for them to attack, run in, spam weapon, run out"
imagine, chivalry's game mechanics, tied with messiah's kicking, tied with War of the Roses hit detections
damn that would be so sweet
killing groups of bandits would actually be fun/harder
So I totally have two Dawnbreakers now.
One of the corrupted shades in Meridia's temple was using it. I took it off him after I killed him, then I picked up the one from the pedestal. Not sure why there's two, but whatever :v:
What if Skyrim had Dark Souls fighting mechanics?
The fact that the pauldron is on the wrong side annoys me to no end.

I think the avatar item for the Xbox Live Marketplace has this problem too
Made a mod to replace the dumbass "Imperial Luck" ability, that greater power pisses me off even more since imperials don't even get bonus to the speech skilll (yet nords do...) talk about lore breaking.
Anyways, this changes the Imperial ability into a permanent Persuasion bonus.

VATS for Skyrim????
Anyone know how to get the [sp]Rieklings to follow me? They just stand there, and sometimes appear to fight stuff, but I can't recruit them.[/sp]
Also, I have trouble getting Words of Power. I stand in front of the Word, but my vision doesn't get all blury and stuff, which is how I know it's working.

Would I have to make a new character for that to be used? I'm playing an Imperial at the moment.
[sp]gotta do all the quests for the chieftain in Thirsk, breh[/sp]
no, if they appear, then he finished the quest
as for El Fonz0, i dont think you can directly summon or recruit them
if i'd known that i could reclaim thirsk for the nord guys, i so would have

After completing all the quests as I said, you can indeed recruit them, but I believe only the ones found in Thirsk, other than that they just appear randomly to help out. So, go box ya' self jerkwad.
