• The Elder Scrolls Megathread V. why the fuck hasn't anyone else made this?

You can generally fix that using the console [editline]14th March 2013[/editline] It depends on the voice profile. You can marry anyone who has the same VA as another vanilla marriage candidate. [editline]14th March 2013[/editline] But my answer would be that marriage was implemented with almost no value of any kind outside of giving the player occasional item treats so the decision of whom you marry is supposed to be carried out on equally arbitrary grounds.
I would be a horrible father because I would visit every 3 days.
I would imagine the kid to be real exited if you visited him every 3rd year, like come running up to you and ask if you have slain many mudcrabs and wolves in your adventures. And then you go enchant his toy sword and fill his room with useless crap.
One of them includes spellmaking. [editline]14th March 2013[/editline] I have this big problem right now where I hate the fuck out of this game even though I seem to be playing it every few days.
I don't hate the game by any means, but I certainly disapprove of a lot of the choices they made with it. I agree with the skill system, with skills leveling with use, but I don't agree with them pruning skills. I don't like the limitations implanted with enchanting, both in number of enchantments and the stupid limitations on what you can enchant with what, etc. Spellmaking, though, that's pretty low on the list. Lore wise, it never really made sense, and given the new spell system with the different types and combinations, I'm not sure how it would even work. I also don't like that spells are learned exclusively from tomes, it should be a combination of found tomes and teachers.

Sky rim marriages are pretty depressing if you think about it. Your spouse just sits in your home all day and when you finally do visit, they light up, until you go over to a chest and start rummaging through it, then you leave and don't show up for months.

For instance, when I'm out, I'm earning us money, and when I do come home, I ask her for a meal, and I make a point to stay the night, I sleep in my bed, have another meal in the morning, tell my daughter to do her chores, maybe play a game of tag, then I'm out again. And I visit my house fairly often to unload things and such, so I'm really not gone all the time. Also, you could always marry a follower.
This is exactly what happened to me a while back, except they multiplied and locked me near the door of my home when I entered because there was so many of them. Their constant chants of "Need something?", "Yes?", and "Hmmh?" still haunt me. Turns out it was caused by Wet and Cold, and I made this to get rid of them. Newer versions of W&C supposedly fix it though.
Thanks a lot, saved me a lot of trouble. New version of Wet and Cold fixed it. Managed to replicate and video the bug beforehand though. So apparently ash cures transulentism. Dorava Velothi is now rather not-see through.
TL;DR my game is haunted and Molag Bal is a dick.
Oh that's cool. I have the same bug in my game. I came to the same conclusion in regards to some door marker or something that was glitched. I wonder what companion is stalking me from the beyond. I have had the bug for weeks, never heard a sound from it. I haven't done Molag Bal's quest yet though, so something else must have caused it.

I started playing morrowind, I'm bad at it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n5W6UhTXRS4&list=PLTVUmZlIlQj3WwVn7_dyBEb2-0PMTRjSr&index=1 I'm also playing through it without recording so i can just enjoy it, my proper play through is going marginally better.
I have this big problem where I love the game but I get bored of it after a few hours. Once you start noticing the horrible rockstextures, snowtextures, everybody repeating the same goddamn two lines of text, every one always commenting on everything when you walk past them... it just pisses me off but I can't immerse myself enough
It has nothing to do with texture size for me. I'm a big boy. I can handle complexity. Skyrim has nothing to say. It's just a game. The money that allowed Skyrim to be made came from the success of a TES that defied meaningless, stupid, shallow industry tropes. And years later we're worse off. If Skyrim were the only game in the franchise I wouldn't give two shits. Skyrim still feels like there was something it wanted to say but all we got were the McNuggets and the rest was sacrificed for that audience. It's a lavishly rendered button-reward system because, like everything else developed on big money these days, it's afraid. The mechanical parts of a game are important and that's what Bethesda is focusing on now, but none of that is justified if they don't tell us why we should, especially from a developer that made its success from creating a rough, crashy but incredibly smart game in 2002.
Game creators, like all creators in every field, can play a part in questioning the perceived wants and needs of their audience.
[editline]15th March 2013[/editline] I don't really post anymore because there's been a trend of avoiding this discussion and ad-libbing it with "Todd" for a couple months now but it's not wrong to be serious every once in a while.

My personal favourite part was where you struggled to grasp the fact that health and magicka do not regenerate. :v: Give us a heads up next time you're streaming.
Does anyone know what "sera" and "serjo" mean? The dunmer say it all the time but I haven't the foggiest idea what it means.
Does anyone know what "sera" and "serjo" mean? The dunmer say it all the time but I haven't the foggiest idea what it means.
It has a similar meaning to "dickhead", dunmer are assholes.
It has a similar meaning to "dickhead", dunmer are assholes.
Actually, now that I've done some looking up, it seems "sera" and "serjo" are words the dunmer use to denote relation; like "sera" is used for respect, and "serjo" is used for friend.
Jesus christ Tropical Skyrim is dense.
You like pathways and roads? Fuck you, have trees instead.
Horizontal and non-colliding trees, in fact!
I stopped playing Morrowind because it was too spooky.
Okay, that thing, but in a long dark stairwell with various scratching sounds and slight moans before it rushed out from the dark at you. Scared me shitless, but didn't make me stop playing. I just stopped going into dark places.
Go relax yourself with Thief Gold, the Cathedral is a pretty relaxing place, if you don't mind the zombies and the haunts that suggest you to join them.
I totes would if I owned Thief.
Morrowind did have some really creepy places. The whispers you heard in ancestral tombs creeped me out. Also, corprus guys and lets not forget Dagoth's minions [t]http://filesmelt.com/dl/ashzombie.png[/t][t]http://filesmelt.com/dl/ashghoul.png[/t][t]http://filesmelt.com/dl/ascendedsleeper.png[/t] Creepy goddamn transformation. First you lose your fucking face and your head is made into an empty cavity, then a fucking tentacle grows out of it, and eventually grows to take over your entire upper body. I wish we still had stuff like this in TES.
This is fucking adorable. And before you ask, here: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/31741 She was swinging here legs back and forth, too.
