Perk system like fallout sounds cool, but why would they take out the class system? I love being able to choose out of all of those classes.
None of those classes were any good, though. It was always better to just make your own.
None of those classes were any good, though. It was always better to just make your own.
Thats what I always did.
Yeah, and can you honestly say you just used the skills for that class? This way you have a dynamic skillsystem, where what you are good at changes what class you are. I like it. The more I hear the more hype I get. Not good.
I hope they have Oblivion's level-up system. I do not want to choose what skill to level up. I want to actually have to practice/use the skill for it to level up.
Oh man, I finally got my GI issue in the mail today. Article is amazing.
Could you give us a run down on any new info?

But in Oblivion you could choose Archer as a class, then run around blasting things with fireballs and smash in brains with hammers. And be good at it. This time you choose your skills, and you get better as you use them as before. If you use bow a lot I guess you'll be called Archer or Ranger, axes and light armor will probably cause you to be named barbarian etc. So your skills dictate what class you are. Which makes a lot more sense.

Not good.
I like the new system as well considering the first time I played Oblivion, I went crazy with Alchemy which wasn't in my major skills so it did absolutely nothing for my overall level. An all this hype can't be good for my health considering it's still 9 months away.
Well, Skyrim is going to be a manly game It needs manly music I nominate obviously for a dragon hunt in a beautiful cave, you know when you see the dragon
Manly. Pure manly.
Except he has no beard. :v:
I'm not sure if this is late or not, but M'aiq the Liar references to dragons.
"I have seen dragons. Perhaps you will see a dragon. I won't say where I saw one. Perhaps I did not."
Read all his funny little dialogue here He was made mostly for easter eggs and to talk about features not found in oblivion.

Info from german game mag (quoted the only "new" bits):
- Questgivers are not marked, so you learn about quests by listening to them talking with another NPC or by talking to them. - All the environment (trees, gras, snow, wind) looks extremly detailed and handmade, not generated like in Oblivion, same with the dungeons. "8 Leveldisigners created all of the environment, handmade." - Some new Pics in there (sry, no link) In one picture you can see the player in a fight, just finishing of the enemy (bandit). And you can clearly see the blood spread all over the place. Well, at least in germany, that points to a 16, more likely 18+ rating.
Other info from french mag that was left out:
"les dragons survolent les temples qui leur sont dédiés" ---> Dragons fly around temples dedicated to them (though they do other things too, but I didn't want to write the whole paragraph) "les coups critiques se voient désormais affublés d'actions contextuelles. Planter sa hache dans le cou ou une dague en pleine poitrine vient parfois clore le combat" ---> critical hits now have different animations, and sometimes an axe in the throat or a dagger in the tummy will finish the fight "Il y a par exemple, ce géant que nous avons croisé près de riverwood. Tant que vous ne l'attaquez pas, il continuera sa route" --> As an example, there's this giant we saw near riverwood. as long as you don't attack it, it'll keep minding its own business "...qui se focalisent sur les 120 dongeons de Skyrim, TOUS DIFFÉRENTS" ---> ...who focus on the 120 dungeons in Skyrim, ALL DIFFERENT "...ou de lancer..." ---> Couldn't really CLEARLY make this out, and the actual sentence is LONG, but it seems like throwing weapons are back. Unless they consider bosw as throwing weapons, but I think they would have said it otherwise
An axe to the throat? Brutal I'm implying Skyrim will have gore, like fallout 3, only better.
Seeing the new faces gives me hope <3 Also, hopefully this time vampires would look scary instead of just fucking ugly and old.
Don't worry bro, if I can make an educated guess from modern vampires, you won't burn in sunlight, only sparkle.
Oh god, I hope they aren't the modern vampires either. They need to look dead. Like a moving (non-rotting) corpse. Not wrinkled, not white-makeup plastered, just dead. Just a dead version of your character.

You'd probably grab them by the wrist, and tear their throat out or something.
That doesn't look cool in my head.
Apparently, the Norwegian Gameractor is to be released tomorrow, although Swedes have to wait till next week.
Being a vampire is totally not worth it in Oblivion. I only hope it doesn't suck as much in Skyrim. oh hey a vampire pun [editline]3rd February 2011[/editline]
Apparently, the Norwegian Gameractor is to be released tomorrow, although Swedes have to wait till next week.
Sweet.
Apparently, the Norwegian Gameractor is to be released tomorrow, although Swedes have to wait till next week.
What about the Danish one?
Nice. I got a Spaceworld on my way to work. Gonna pick it up tomorrow then.
Oh hey there, just gonna announce that since the new face gen will feature SUCH a big design possibility, it will be too hard to implent beards. Beards are not included, sorry.
They better give vampires actual quests this time. Morrowind had actual quests for vampires but Oblivion had only 1 and that was for a cure if you wanted it.
They better give vampires actual quests this time. I'm playing through oblivion at the moment, got vampified as i explored a cave and now i'm hunting grand soul gems during the night and waiting in caves all day. It SUCKS.
