More like I shit on them and they killed themselves.
Fast travel is only good if you're in the middle of nowhere and it takes you back to the last city you came from.
City to city is retarded, and nowhere to nearest city can be exploited.
A good way to put it is make it like the move "Teleport" from pokemon.
If they didn't have fast travel the game would sell less because people would always bitch about it. Just disable it in the console and enjoy the wilderness yourself, screw other people.
I'd much prefer caravans and travel routes to fast travel. Fast travel kind of ruins the game ("but you don't have to use it!!!1", no I don't have to but the presence of fast travel usually means no travel routes, and the game usually is designed around it).
Also magics or scrolls that allow you to fast travel (or nearly).
GET ME THIS FLOWER ON THE OTHER SIDE OF CYRODIIL FOR 5 GOLD GOOD DEAL YEs
This. In Oblivion and Fallout.
You are given the mission to walk to the other side of, for example skyrim. you must go and pick up a beard of a dragon.
Its expected that the road is long and dangerous. but "Nah, ill just fast travel to a town right next to it and go take it."

As said previously, when they have fast travel in their game, they probably wont make the wilderness as interesting, also no major road-side quests.
This Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim preview article by PC Gamer summarizes some of the information of Skyrim that we have recieved. It's a good read, you should check it out.
Anyone here have an account on the Bethesdah Softworks forum? Is it worth it?
I just really hope they fix the fast travelling with hostile npcs,I had numourous occasions where I would fast-travel to a place which I thought was safe, too end up between 4-5 hostile bandits in the middle of their fucking camp.
Then it autosaves and youre in a death trap, happens in both the Fallouts too.
I mean the game should drop you off like a 100 meters instead of spawning you between hostiles.
It's been a month since I last shaved...
This is going to get hairy.
Why complain about fast travel? Explain why it's a bad thing to me.
If you don't want to use it, then don't use it. Always seemed like a trivial thing to argue or complain about in my opinion.
Yeah then place a "level up character" button there, i mean if you don't want use it then don't use it.

uh wrong thread?
beards are always related to skyrim
for some reason
He said Morrowind.... He's not talking about Oblivion.
In morrowind there's boats and silt strider services, but you never see them moving.. he's saying that if there's travel services like wagons, strider, boats, etc, then it'd be nice if you'd see other people using them from time to time.
Then why does he say "Imagine that" when we have no need to imagine?
uh wrong thread?
Is this the Skyrim thread?

Again that's the stupidest thing i've ever heard, it doesn't contribute to the argument at all...

snip since fixed.
Fast Travel should be an Optional function at the beginning. I guess everybody would be satisfied then.
My bad, the box was small and the edit was not visable.

When fast-traveling, the autosave saves you position BEFORE the traveling. So if you fast traveled from, say, Anvil to a bandit camp, and got killed by the bandits, loading the autosave would bring you back to Anvil.

If you lack the self control to not use fast travel then get a mod that disables it.
If you're playing on a console and can't get mods to disable it, get a shock collar and have a friend zap you every time you try to use it.
I've drafted some phrase that M'aiq can say in this game (or if I have to put him in myself)and some topics he can address:
"M'aiq does not understand all the fuss about hairy faces, M'aiq has had a hairy face since he was a cub."
"M'aiq thinks people are too soft nowadays, M'aiq once had 5 arrows in his chest and I kept walking."
"At first I was a rouge, then I became a savant, now I don't know what I am anymore."
Something about the alterations of conversation.
Something about the reintroduction of polearms.
Something about the new combat system.
Something about dragons.
Something about multiplayer.

good one :v:
mai'q would be funny, I always laughed when he said about how people who like furries are creepy :v:

Did he ever say anything about furries? I think he was just talking about people who wanted nudity... Though the furry comment still works in that context.
Mai'q went from a compulsive liar in Morrowind to a snarky commentator in Oblivion. I wonder of he'll take on a new role in Skyrim, if he exists in the game at all? (it's been 200 years...)

Silly Spuzz. Don't you know that wisecracking Khajiits are always immortal? In fact, that's a viable way they could have him in the game.

It'd be pretty sad if we'd find a decayed Khajit skeleton in a cave/dungeon with something pointing to it being Mai'q.

With a note of all his new snarky comments on it.
Or a Colovian Fur Helm.
