You have to love the awkward NPC to NPC conversations.
In each dungeon there should be a mini boss or harder enemies than you will face in wildlife.
Should go with the Morrowind system for dungeon enemies, with a randomiser, so you really have no clue if the next dungeon you go in will be your last.
Actually Bethesda dungeon system for skyrim doesnt sound too bad... as long as there's a level scaling range leeway of about 5.. so if you walk into a dungeon at level 10, the dungeons creatures could be level 7 or level 12 at it's extremes. Or maybe each creature could be within a 5 level range.. so some could be up to 12, and some could be as low as 7. The idea that a dungeon fixes itself at the level you enter is a fairly decent idea, though.... as long as the loot doesnt level. I hope loot is just randomized all together... with "boss" containers having a much higher chance of awesome stuff. Suppose I or somebody else could always mod that in later, though.
Randomized loot is good for some of the chests and stuff in dungeons, but I want unique equipment planted down there as well. Morrowind had it, Oblivion did not. Oblivion dungeons was more or less just generated as well it seems. But this time they are really hand-crafting all the dungeons, so I hope they place awesome unique weapons and armour around. I also like the class-less system. Wonder how it works though, as they have said you will level up from all skills. So major and minor skills seems to be out.
Major/Minor skills are out. Now it's more "You've used Short Blades enough that it leveled up! Congrats! Oh, hey you've leveled enough skills to hit the next level! Yaaay!" From what I gather.
I want a video that shows things I want to see, and then at the end Todd pledges he isn't making shit up this time around and is actually serious about it.
I want the video to end with Todd resigning from his job
I want the video to end with Todd resigning from his job
He brought you Morrowind. Do you still want him to get out?
Wonder what celebrities they'll bring in to lend their voice.
Wonder what celebrities they'll bring in to lend their voice.
Probably someone who costs them half their voice acting budget
Probably someone who costs them half their voice acting budget
Max is already there!
Ian Mckellen! Any cast member from LOTR really.
"BUT there's one they fear. In their tounge he is Dovahkiin... DRAGONBORN!" *Gurggle* *Cue dramatic music and chanting*
I know it's the Morrowind sounds, but I couldn't be bothered to reinstall Oblivion just for some Mudcrab sounds.
They should just spend all of their voice acting budget on Patrick Stewart to do all the voices, and just use plain text on the rest if they run out of money.
They should just spend all of their voice acting budget on Patrick Stewart to do all the voices, and just use plain text on the rest if they run out of money.
Or maybe spend the money on the construction of a time machine, move to the early Middle Ages and bring some vikings to do the VA?
Or maybe spend the money on the construction of a time machine, move to the early Middle Ages and bring some vikings to do the VA?
patrick stewarts impression of vikings
Or maybe spend the money on the construction of a time machine, move to the early Middle Ages and bring some vikings to do the VA?
"I'VE FOUGHT MUDCRA-...What the hell is a mudcrab? And what is this thing I'm talking into? Who is the beastly fellow over there? Why does he look just like me?" etc. [editline]2nd April 2011[/editline] That'd be hilarious as an easter egg if they joked about trying to do that.
patrick stewarts impression of vikings
Now for whatever reason I'm picturing a group of nice and well-dressed beardy, muscular warriors having a nice conversation near a fireplace, while sipping tea. Then a butler walks in and informs them about the dragon outside the castle's gate, and they rip off their clothes and lunge at the dragon with battle axes, screaming obscenities, and smashing the windows in the process.
And running around, hitting each other, and then turning the whole battle into a massive free for all with a dragon as a stage hazard.
Excuse me, has this been posted? [editline]2nd April 2011[/editline] I mean the viking part.
one thing that I hope skyrim lacks are the horrible repetitive dungeons/ruins that oblivion had, did anyone else think that all of oblivion's aylied ruins were incredibly repetitve? you go into a room with skeletons, clear it out, go into another room with skeletons, clear it out, repeat for the whole ruin when your entire objective is to get one tiny little stone, it was so goddamn boring
I don't mind the repetitiveness, but you should at least walk out with one nice thing. Dungeons have always been reptive in every TES game.. though in Arena. Daggerfall and Morrowind you did have a higher chance of encountered something unexpected.. and that's really the only element missing. Saying you want "orgional dungeons" or something is like saying you want a giant pot of gold in real life. It's just not going to happen because completely original dungeons is just out of the question, its not feasible with the work that needs to be done. Still, it would be cool if they made better use of the assets they do have. I hope they have a few surreal, nightmarish dungeons that daedric princes have taken over or warped... sort of like Arkveds tower in oblivion. That was a rgeat example of genius dungeon design with sterile assets.
I'd be satisfied if all the dungeons looked the same, but there was a nice little story behind them all, as well as some nice mechanics to encounter as you explore each one. Most if not all of the non-quest dungeons in Oblivion were linear fightfests with random loot at the end, I did not like that all.
I hope for some random bar fights in taverns.

Just requires a bit more inspiration on the part of dungeon designers to go the extra mile and make the dungeon experience unique. Still, you always hear absurd requests for completely unique dungeons and it's just retarded... these things use 3d kit pieces (EG: hallway A hallway B hallway C) and you arrange them. Theres a common msiconception that they somehow go through and model each one.. which they don't since thats basically impossible. Theres supposedly 7 dungeon designers or something for skyrim whereas there was only one for Oblivion, so I'm guessing that means there'll be 7 to 14 dungeon types and sets of models for them. Fairly unique, but you'll see a bit of style repetition still if there's to be 70 dungeons or so.
Is Daggerfall worth downloading and getting to grips with DOSbox for? How hard is it to use and how good is Daggerfall?

I thought Fallout 3 did this fairly well.
Is Daggerfall worth downloading and getting to grips with DOSbox for? You will cum so hard (if you can figure out how to get out of the starting dungeon atleast, its hard and complicated as shit) that no RPG can beat it. Except Skyrim.
Is Daggerfall worth downloading and getting to grips with DOSbox for? How hard is it to use and how good is Daggerfall?
Im enjoying it a lot. May want to read this if you're interested in it http://forums.bethsoft.com/index.php?/topic/479044-how-to-get-the-past-games-to-run/page__p__6877868#entry6877868 It sounds hard but once you do it it becomes familiar.
I'm thinking of getting Morrowind on Steam. Is it worth it?
I'll decide after Mock the Week if my headache goes down.
UESP has a already configured version. Just click n play Daggerfall.exe and bam! Fap away! Playing as a female is like playing Whoreblivion!
