It's sad the clouds don't have beards
clouds are like fluffy white beards already, only the main character can have beards on his beard
Clouds are beards, but white and in the sky.
Dynamic Beard growing. You get to make your beard look like whatever you want, you can shave it, then wait for it to slowly grow out. And at the end of the game, once you beaten it, you get the option of everyone else growing beards, including the women and children. My beard should grow for every life I take

Dragons: Now with more Cliff Racers, with beards!
Newly released concept art. Looks gorgeous. [editline]12th February 2011[/editline] It's late? According to Flickr and the Bethesda Blog these were released yesterday, and I went back to page 16 (two days ago) without seeing anything.
Nah there have been scans from magazines for days/weeks.
I'm glad everything finally casts shadows. Hopefully you can increase the resolution of them on pc though.
And if you can't mods will find a way to shoehorn it in.
High resolution shadows never make much sense. Look at any given shadow in your household, it'll be fuzzy and blobby. On that note, trees barely make distinguishable shadows like most games propagate.
Look at any given shadow in your household, it'll be fuzzy and blobby. On that note, trees barely make distinguishable shadows like most games propagate.
That depends on the light source's size and distance.
What I can't stand are shadows that are completely solid in the middle and edges drawn with the "spraypaint" tool in mspaint [editline]12th February 2011[/editline] and floating objects [editline]asdf[/editline] now that I think about it I hated a lot of things about oblivion [editline]12th February 2011[/editline] on EVERY FUCKING TABLE
And then Nexus fucking rapes the entire game with 5 seconds furry/japanese addons.
High resolution shadows never make much sense. Look at any given shadow in your household, it'll be fuzzy and blobby.
I'm glad everything finally casts shadows. Hopefully you can increase the resolution of them on pc though.
And humans finally look like humans, not like some mutated potatoes from outer space.
And humans finally look like humans, not like some mutated potatoes from outer space.
And I really hope that the new engine can support more complex facial expressions, so that Bethesda wouldn't do this When they need a special face. Speaking of which The Guard who patrols there seems to have gotten into a loop where he always attacks him, and I always have to kill the guard to keep him away, is there a way to prevent that?
That depends on the light source's size and distance.
Then why do all games have crystal clear shadows? Are the light sources pressed up against them? :v: [editline]12th February 2011[/editline]
Except these shadows aren't blurry, they're jagged and low quality. theres a difference
I'm not seeing it. They look fine to me, better than most games in fact.
Look at the shadows of the stool on the left and the baskets on the shelf, they're noticeably aliased I'm assuming its because they're console screenshots, but still I really hope its better on pc.
Somethings weird about her eyes. They seem unaligned or something
[img_thumb]http://pcmedia.ign.com/pc/image/article/114/1149185/elder-scrolls-v-skyrim-20110211094552237.jpg[/img_thumb] Look at the shadows of the stool on the left and the baskets on the shelf, they're noticeably aliased I'm assuming its because they're console screenshots, but still I really hope its better on pc.
' Those kinds of shadows have never really bothered me. Here's hoping they do something for your sake, though. Also... Clothing actually looks to be fairly high-poly. Look at it.
Then why do all games have crystal clear shadows? Are the light sources pressed up against them? :v:
Because it's not that simple.
If arrows are so scarce and powerful, why is he using them for ELK HUNTING? [img_thumb]http://pcmedia.ign.com/pc/image/article/114/1149185/elder-scrolls-v-skyrim-20110211094601315.jpg[/img_thumb]

They just won't have bandits and such have 20 arrows on them. And they probably will cost a lot more. Also, for the woman's eyes, its odd due to the reflection of light in each pupil. Other then that, they are fine.
How are they going to explain arrows being scarce? It just seems a little silly when they're so easy to make and the world has no shortage of wood.
How are they going to explain arrows being scarce? It just seems a little silly when they're so easy to make and the world has no shortage of wood.
Arrows are never scarce. I really wouldn't be worried about it.
They never said it was going to be scarce. Just not as much in supply as before. In Morrowind, I found maybe 200 arrows in a single crate. In Oblivion, I get 20 from a single bandit and maybe 30 from random crates. I could make a living off selling the abundance of arrows in both games. I never ran out and only had too many. It even got to a point where I stopped myself to carry about 40 max.
To keep players from coasting through the world plucking enemies from afar, Bethesda has significantly altered the arrow economy to make them a valuable but limited option. You won't be rolling into combat stacked with 50 Daedric arrows anymore.
Gah, IMHO, Dragons are the least original and shittiest fantasy creature/plot device. the thing is, you either fight the dragons, or you fight for them, in every single one ofthese thing there's a 'elder dragon' you listen to or a super evil dragon you end up slaying. not to mention the certain apprearance of dragonscale armour. now, give me some originality, replace dragons with ancient magical insects, created by gods, inset with gold, steel and jewels in their shells, sure it may sound a bit retarded, but it doesn't lead you to a GENERIC_FANTASY_PLOT#33 oh yeah, you bastards finally brought me out of lurking, hello Facepunch.

Dragons have existed in the Elder Scrolls lore since the first game. But none of the games had a dragon yet since they were banished. It only becomes a generic plot when used badly. But Bethesda can make it work really well.
