Things I really, really, really want, even more than blackjacks. LOCKED THINGS THAT ACTUALLY HAVE KEYS TO THEM. HOW THE FUCK DO YOU OPEN THAT CHEST, LADY?! WITH YOUR SKULL? I mean, I understand if it's in a dungeon or something, but otherwise, what the fuck is that?

'' I have no key!!!''
Keys would be a good improvement. For example, if you pickpocket it from them, you can open it while they're away. But if they're sleeping, they probably leave it somewhere. You can find it, open the chest, and get the fuck out.
It's gonna suck if you just finished an extremely HARD quest, and you get back to see that a dragon burned everything to the ground.
Radiant Story will fix that most likely by sending his/her son to give you your reward.
reward is in the dragon's stomach.
Or shit.
* Most NPCs will not have a complete set of dialogue, with only "important" characters having substantial dialogue. This was pretty much a given but it's still lame. Magnetism can be modded out. Hopefully with blocking you can use a duel wield weapon to block, but unarmed is going to be hard.
Unarmed blocking is probably going to involve counters, dodging, and disarming. Sorta like Mirror's Edge mixed with Assassin's Creed II.
I might be late, but you know, I really hope there will be something more to melee combat than "left button - attack, right button - defend". You know, at least the simplest "right hand strike, left hand strike, overhead strike" stuff. This reminds me of the combat system used in Blade of Darkness. Striking in different directions means your sword will swing over this area and reach there in so many splitseconds. If you make a poor choice, either you would just miss (i.e. swing left while the enemy is to the right of you), or the enemy would hit you before you do (cause this particular swing takes just a bit longer), or you would hit their shield/sword and recoil, therefore giving them time to hit you again. Just a few hits is enough to down you and many enemies often attack simultaneously. It's never about "A+A+A+A+B" = 300 damage, and you can't sit behind a shield all the time because, while they do block all the damage, the shield actually absorbs it and substracts it from it's own health, and soon enough it just breaks (which gives you a nasty recoil). In other words, no more "click click click click click click Block click click click click".
The way the hammer and pickaxe work in Penumbra could be a good combat system.
I hope you don't get a map with everything marked in Skyrim. Instead, you have to follow signs, ask around for directions and so on, but when you have discovered a location it will show up in the map. It felt pretty linear in Oblivion that you could just open up the map and 4 seconds later you were teleported.
Well, like any adventurer, you would take note of places you have been, for convenient use later on.
I guess parrying is physically impossible once you enter Skyrim A lot of the new info is... disappointing to say the least
I guess parrying is physically impossible once you enter Skyrim A lot of the new info is... disappointing to say the least
You can parry with two-handed swords, they said that you can't when you just have a single-handed sword and a spell equipped to the other hand, in which you use a spell to defend yourself. And why is everyone freaking out about the magnetism thing? I remember Morrowind fans getting all upset about how Oblivion's combat was going to be. Isn't that a good idea that fixes a major problem of hitting friendlies? Also, if you combine the info from Gameinformer and that article on the previous page, you should realize why it's in there. They said that blocking requires timing, amongst a whole bunch of other realistic features being added.
Exactly, I don't understand why it is impossible to parry with one hand.
I'm guessing you can block with two handed weapons by clicking both left and right click simultaneously, since right click is now assigned to whatever you have equipped to your right hand.
I just hope they add some super-tough, legendary monsters, like in New Vegas, that guard awesome loot. Like a huge, overpowered wolf named Fenrir. Nords are based on Norse culture after all.
I'd love to see the combat system being a somewhat upgraded version of Mount and Blades' system.

"The economy of "Skyrim" will be better developed than the one in previous games. If you destroy a city's means of income (for instance, by razing their crops), its inhabitants will have to purchase crops from a nearby city, thereby raising prices." Hope this turns out cool and not just a gimmick

About the magnetism thing, it's possible to hit friendlies in real life, when I swing something, I don't magically gravitate towards bad people.

I never see NPCs eating/drinking yet somehow it's possible to poison an apple and make one eat it.

Its annoying as hell cos you can't see what their eating, you just hear them munching away.
Exactly, I don't understand why it is impossible to parry with one hand.
I think I read somewhere that you are able to parry if you dual wield.
I was hoping for a defense and offence button for each hand.

I'd like to see TES VI have the possibility to become a pirate and sail the high seas
I'd like to see TES VI have the possibility to become a pirate and sail the high seas
Isn't Hammerfell meant to be a sailor nation sort of thing?
