It now occured to me: with this new "two hand" system, will I be able to wield a shortsword in one hand and use the other one to punch the crap out of my enemies' faces? Slash-PUNCH-slash-slash.
Or just set a lightning spell to a hand, and ANOTHER FUCKING LIGHNTING SPELL to the other one. I want this to be possible. I want to be all like:

Why not? If you can dual-wield two of the same weapon, why shouldn't you be able to use both of your hands to cast a single spell, providing you are an expert archmage with enough mana to do it.
If a roleplay game involves spells and dressing with robes, I want to roleplay as emperor fucking palpatine.

It was confirmed that you can do so, wasn't it?
It was confirmed that you can do so, wasn't it?
I believe it was. If I recall correctly, you can equip both hands with the same spell to make it more powerful. Spell-weaving was not a thing, but they was considering it. Would be cool if they took some ideas from Magicka for that.
I want to dual wield warhammers.
The mayhem
Magicka has the best magic system ever.

if you tried to hold a two handed weapon in one hand, chances are you wouldn't be able to hit very fast or hard. Especially if you had another in the other hand.
I liked the magic control in this game and Morrowind, it made it feel like magic was an alternative to swords 'n' stuff rather than an augmentation.

Yeah, in Oblivion it was nothing more than a little added attack you could use once in a while when you felt like it.

Perhaps. But if he's a badass Nord that stuff doesn't really matter.
I want strength to affect how I handle heavier weapons.

Maybe there could be a perk to allow you to hold a 2 handed weapon in one hand (with x strength as a prerequisite, of course)
edit: but it would start off being slower/weaker until you raise your strength
I hope shock attacks aren't just balls of energy but actual electricity that shoots from your palm.
Same with fire and a flamethrower effect.
A thought: Dual wield hammers, right? Heavy, slow to hit and reduced effectiveness in a pair. HOWEVER. swing the weapons at empty air will build up speed to a point, after which speed will only increase when you hit an enemy. Each consecutive hit you land increases the speed and damage of the next hit.
This means that as you enter into combat, you slowly start spinning the hammers, until you become a deadly whirlwind of hammer, blood and pain.
And then you slow down, loot the two chickens you just killed and walk away.
Just a thought...

I like the way you think

Oh god, I'd jizz all over the place if it used inFamous's style of lightning coming out of your hand. It was like... The lightning was always there, you just let it OUT

Why would speed increase once you killed an enemy? And, why would swinging them increase the speed at which they're swung? You'd still be carrying a ~40/50 pound hammer in one hand each, and trying to swing them through the air.
I think he means swinging them like nunchucks. At least that's how I interpreted it...
I'm... not quite sure how that would work? Like, how/why would you be doing that, and how would it make them faster?
Why would speed increase once you killed an enemy? And, why would swinging them increase the speed at which they're swung? You'd still be carrying a ~40/50 pound hammer in one hand each, and trying to swing them through the air.
Momentum.
Momentum.
Unless you were He-Man, you wouldn't even be able to start swinging them like nunchucks. If you were able to, the momentum you built up would probably cause you to send them flying.
But then again, I'm terrible at physics, so I may be wrong.

Or both. Separate spells for fireballs and fire streams, and for energy globes and proper lightnings.
Imagine the :pcgaming: that would ensue.

The hammers would slow down dramatically after they hit something; it doesn't make sense for them to move faster after they hit.

Yeah that's the best way it would work, if you only had streams it would limit range capability.
Oh god, let us combine spells, please.
Thunder + Ice to make some cool spell and such. I know it was confirmed that they were thinking about it, but weren't sure a good couple of news-posts ago, but I just now thought about how awesome it would be if they actually made it

Magicka?
* "Skyrim" contains exhaustive environmental effects, such as the effects of wind on water and the creation of waves. The game will also contain meteorological effects, with clouds clustering around mountaintops and so forth.
awesome! maybe, just maybe we will have hair physics! imagine your giant beard with the wind effect :smug:
Has there been a game with a realistic weather system?
