The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim "And your beard's beard has beards too"

Yeah man the rain in Minecraft is so beautiful
I think it would be awesome to fling spells rapidly by alternating off each hand.

I would like to have 2 shields and also a spell on each hand.
More of a forearm vs hand thing.

this would be so goddamn badass. we need to collect all of our good Ideas and send it to bethesda :v:
awesome! maybe, just maybe we will have hair physics! imagine your giant beard with the wind effect :smug:

If what they say is true with the environmental effects and how it will look, then I'll play as a mage who wears a white robe and uses nothing but wind and lightning.
I want to look like Zeus when I take out my holy rage onto a town or something. Throw in a few dragon shouts and you've got a god walking around Skyrim.
Don't you think a Norse god would be more fit for that?
Don't you think a Norse god would be more fit for that?
Most Norse male gods are (mostly) melee. Odin has his spear, Thor his hammer, Tyr is the norse god of battle, Demons of muspell carry swords of fire etc.
possibly the only male norse god who delves in magic and trickery is Loki.
Thor isn't mostly melee, is he? He throws his hammer quite a lot. Mjölnir never misses and it always hits the head, causing it to explode into a thousand pieces.
That'd be a nice easter egg, just like the alien blasters in FO3 and FO:NV..

It also flies back into his hands!
An awesome hammer-boomerang combination.

If we get the possibility of throwing the weapon we're carrying, which I do believe someone will mod into the game at least, then switch to a telekinesis spell...
Like say, throw hammer, equip spell, retrieve hammer after it fucked the enemy's face. Should be pretty close.
Oh god I hope this isn't late :ohdear:

I don't expect anything other than a bunch of screenshots for a rather long time.
I'm actually wondering why did they announce this game almost a year before the release.

To HYPE people up.
Everyone will wait for it in cold sweat and buy it fast before realising it's oblivion with blotchily textured beards and county bruma everywhere v:v:v

Good enough

Because it had been in production for four years. Obviously hype, but I'd imagine it is in a state that is showable.
Oblivion got a trailer 7-9 months before release, I imagine skyrim will too.

The trailer in question, I'm guessing skyrim will have a trailer similar in nature.
It's probably because they're already done with the game system (minor adjustments may occur) and they are now working on the quests and name of every character/place/enemy in game.
or vice verse.
One of the more alluring changes to the spellcasting in Skyrim is how you can employ spells in different ways. For instance, you could blast enemies with a flame ball from afar, hold the button down to wield the spell like a flame thrower, place a rune on the ground to create an environmental trap that spontaneously combusts when an enemy steps on it, or equip the spell with both hands to deliver high damage fireball attacks that drain your magicka reserves quickly. The shock and frost spells give players an equal amount of flexibility.
Yes.
YES!
Shouldn't take four years to make a game engine. Its a hard task, but this new game engine sounds pretty conventional. Not taking a shot at the game or anything, with elder scrolls I expect a game based on good world design, not a game thats the most technologically advanced.
I'm going out on a limb an assuming that most cities and landscape has been roughed out, whats probably being finished now is the game UI, gameplay mechanics, and dungeons. Either way, even if they are not finished they'll have enough to show for a trailer.
Hopefully this time they're working harder on it, to avoid another Oblivion/Fallout/overall Gamebryo shit-fest.
Seriously, I dare you to pay a visit to the Fallout wiki, under the Fallout 3 and New Vegas sections, and find a page without a "Bugs" paragraph. This shit should not, and shall no longer happen in modern games, especially now that you can remotely, automatically patch your games through Steam or similars.
A lot of the bugs are caused by issues in quest design and script errors, that's not really avoidable consdering the scope of these games and how many scripts need to get made. It had nothing to do with gamebryo (if that's what you're insinuating).
I predominately play mods on the PC, so I come to expect bugs in every game I play and they rarely bother me unless they are utterly gamebreaking and there's no way around them with the developer console. I'd rather have the game earlier with a few (hundred) bugs.

I know, but they sometimes were a real annoyance. But I expect a lot from Bethesda this time. I mean, the main story, engine and interface seem to be done, or at least close to. Now they have about 9 months to make everything perfect.
I sense they can, I expect no less by such a great company. Oblivion and the two latest Fallouts were buggy and had problems, yes. That did not stop me from playing them for hundreds of hours, because they were fun as hell.
I'm just saying I'd rather have more content, even if it is buggy and a bit unpolished.
More dungeons, more people, more quests, even if some of them don't work so great.
You know what would be awesome? If you could hotkey a really limited number of weapons like say, 4 or 5, depending on their size, because whatever you hotkey is placed on your clothing instead of in your magical invisible backpack. Basically you could roll around looking like this:

Shit, now I hope they implement a New Vegas-ish Hardcore Mode, where you get thirsty, hungry and tired.
It just does not feel right to play as a mutant/cyborg superhuman that does not need to eat or sleep somehow...
Sleeping, definitely. I don't know how eating and drinking would work given that food qualifies as alchemical ingredient.
For instance, I don't think eating nightshade would provide much sustenance. Same thing with with water, the system doesnt quite work in the same way. I suppose anything with a "restore fatigue" effect could qualify as food/water.

It's not hard to toss in the game hunger, thirst and sleep. and didn't they announce cooking as an in-game hobby? Possibly food and drinks will be distinguished by magical potions, with food-making and alchemy being two different things, with different effects. Like say, food and water mainly effect thirst and hunger which lower strenght and stamina when starving, potions affect directly skills, giving temporary boosts or restoring things like health and mana pool.
For that extra icing on the cake, some potions could get you addicted, and alcohol would get you actually drunk, with silly walking and retarded aiming.

And blackouts with waking up inside a cave, next to a dragon.
