This happened to me with Just Cause 2, I watched too much videos and played the demo for so many hours. Then when I played the actual game I felt like I have experied everything. Portal 2 has done this well, we don't know much about the story, we only know alot about the gameplay. Hopefully Episode 3 will do this perfectly, they won't likely let us know almost anything.
Same thing happened with Half-Life 2: Episode Two.
There were only 2 types of outside environments (forest and snowy forest) and only 3 type of dungeons (cave, underground fort/castle, and Ayleid ruins) Forests didn't really look nor feel like forests, and most of the dungeons are forgettable copy pastes
At The shivering isles had better enviroments.
Instant FUS ROH DAH (hopefully no one has posted this yet) http://instantbutton.me/buttons/fus_roh_daaaa_20110225173413.html Edit: aaaaaand I was late. I blame Todd Howard.
beardamancy would be an awesome skill it'd give you the most powerful magic in the game, but every spell reduces your beard so you'd have to grow it back which takes time

Give me pictures of your Morrowind Characters. For a splash pack.

[editline]26th February 2011[/editline]
Give me pictures of your Morrowind Characters. For a splash pack.
You wouldn't like my Morrowind character.
My eyes watered and I tingled all over for the entire last 3/4ths of the trailer.
Fortify Beard (-45) Requires Beardcraft Level 25
Beard-acle branch: Follicocal soul absorbtion (Requires 3 day beard)

I think they should make the people more interactive. Like, you can talk to people, but that's about it. It would be cool if you could go on adventures with people, make friendships, do errands for them, have a romantic interest. I didn't really feel attached to the world because I couldn't get attached to the people. I guess there were companion mods, but it's not the same.
Dwarf fortress has all that and more :buddy: Only in dwarf mode though so you can only follow the dwarves transgressions from a strategy perspective :saddowns: Edit: Still it's worth it to see a noble be uncontent with a craftsdwarfs work and have his legs broken by the guards.

I mean, how can a text based rpg have such things?
I mean, how can a text based rpg have such things?
Via text.
I never really got what dwarf fortress was all about. The first reincarnation is obviously Theodore Roosevelt.

I've always wanted to try it, it just looks tedius to get into....
this game makes me moist [editline]26th February 2011[/editline] i popped like 8 chubbies watching this trailer on repeat
Meh I'll have another go at it, but I need to know how to play first.
It's a good idea to spend your first hour or so of gameplay following a tutorial step by step. That's what I did at least and after that I had a good enough idea of what to do to stop watching.
Meh I'll have another go at it, but I need to know how to play first.
By the way, it's not text based. Think of fortress mode being a (macro/mini)-management/RTS/Dwarf life simulator. And adventure is your rogue-like with incredible depth, not Nethack "Woah! They thought of everything!" deep but game mechanics deep.
I didn't see a single anthropomorphic creature (argonians and stuff) in the entire trailer. Or a single redguard for that matter.
I didn't see a single anthropomorphic creature (argonians and stuff) in the entire trailer. Or a single redguard for that matter.
pro "Nord master-race" trailer.
I didn't see a single anthropomorphic creature (argonians and stuff) in the entire trailer. Or a single redguard for that matter.
How racist. You did notice the elf though right? When the guy is getting his throat slit.
pro "Nord master-race" trailer.
Makes sense, but one of each would have settled me down. Now I'm just wondering if they are keeping the new race models or if they will go back the the lore oriented depictions in Elder Scrolls 3.
I love TES. [editline]26th February 2011[/editline] And I think they might be holding off on showing off the other race models until later. I mean the game is still 8 1/2 months away. Shit. 8 1/2 months..
