Never played an Elder Scrolls game, but I watched the trailer and it looks fun. I played through Dark Messiah's singleplayer, and Fallout 3/New Vegas, and loved all of them, would I like this? (I only included Dark Messiah in that because it seems to be the same type of game, except free-roam like Fallout) [editline]28th February 2011[/editline] What the hell is up with this game and the references to beards
because oblivion didn't have beards, men weren't manly enough. beard is the symbol of manliness. oh, and yes you'll like it.
Okay. I'll probably wind up buying it then
Coop in Skyrim would be awesome though.
I would love a good RPG game with a great story such as Mass Effect, Dragon Age, The Elder Scrolls or something like that with co-op. It'd be freaking awesome to play through the whole adventures with a friend/friends you know.
Bethesda said in a magazine interview that they will never do any kind of multiplayer mode for an Elder Scrolls game.
damn it
It's better that way.
because oblivion didn't have beards, men weren't manly enough. beard is the symbol of manliness. oh, and yes you'll like it.
In oblivion you had facial hair, it only made your jaw and mouth area darker tho lol.
In oblivion you had facial hair, it only made your jaw and mouth area darker tho lol.
Yeah, that doesn't really deserve to be defined as a beard.
This is also the best news i've heard about the game flat out.
Oh yes, Dark Messiahs combat was absolutely epic. Mix it with free open world and hellooo manslaughter. I'm probably going to make some kind of Assasin/Mage hybrid, always liked classes like that.
In oblivion you had facial hair, it only made your jaw and mouth area darker tho lol.
It also made your body purple
we can only pray the NPCs are as intelligent as they were in oblivion.
It also made your body purple
Yeah, I remember putting the "beard" slider at max and realizing my dude looked like a zombie. I somehow got a bit more attractive when I became a vampire. Which is sad, because Oblivion vampires looked like ass. [editline]28th February 2011[/editline]
we can only pray the NPCs are as intelligent as they were in oblivion.
Or clever like in New Vegas. goddamn, just look at that runs in circles argonian going around and doing that mimimimi noise hhhnggghhh
Bethesda bought Arkane Studios, they're making combat for Skyrim, so go figure.
Dark Messiah: M&M Is pretty old too. THINK ABOUT THE AWESOME COMBAT NOW. :droll:
Why i haven't heard that Bethesda had bought Arkane studios before than just now?
I wonder if I'll be able to make a fist fighting oompa loompa wood elf again. Loved the fact you could make your players skin orange and hair green in oblivion. He was faster than that one Kahjiit. (sp?)
Why i haven't heard that Bethesda had bought Arkane studios before than just now?
You live under a rock...on mars?
It's GDC time and I hope Bethesda, since they are exhibiting, pulls out a demo walkthrough of this showing off all of the technical improvements much like they did with Oblivion back in 2005 at E3. I'm being mighty optimistic about this.
It also made your body purple
This is why I shave every day
I wonder what kind of spells we'll have access to. EDIT: FUSH ROH DAH
I wonder if I'll be able to make a fist fighting oompa loompa wood elf again. Loved the fact you could make your players skin orange and hair green in oblivion. I named him HURPA-DURG-DURG and spent the rest of the day jumping on peoples heads.

Are you able to play a female in this game? Are you able to give your character a name?
Are you able to play a female in this game? Are you able to give your character a name?
Yes and Yes. but the name doesn't change much the story. so I went to akinator see if he could guess anything about skyrim and dovahkiin, but he wasn't good enough, heh, finally outsmarted that son of a bitch :v: http://en.akinator.com/
Are you able to play a female in this game? Are you able to give your character a name?
Yes. "Dovahkiin" is a title, not a name.
I may be late with this but isn't the dovahkiin supposed to be nord? I though I read somewhere that the dragonslayers came from a dying nord clan.
I may be late with this but isn't the dovahkiin supposed to be nord? I though I read somewhere that the dragonslayers came from a dying nord clan.
Dovakhiin is just a title, and it means Dragon Born. You don't need to be a nord. It's a title, just as "The Champion of Cyrodil" was a title in Oblivion and "Nerevarine" was a title in morrowind, it doesn't mean that's your characters name. (though, people may refer to you by the title)
If you haven't seen the Freelance Astronauts' Let's Play of Oblivion, it shows one of the funniest abuses of the character creator in exactly the way you mentioned. [img_thumb]http://lparchive.org/Oblivion/Images/2-.png[/img_thumb] An artist's interpretation of Dongs "REO" Speedwagon.
I can vouch for him. The let's play was absolutely hilarious, and a great showcase of awful and great mods alike (like the "Michael Jackson" mod, the Pegasus mod, the Slaughterfish Weapon mod and many more wonderful things). Here's a video playlist that autoplays all of the videos in order, in case you want to waste some time watching them fart about while Ferr makes snarky remarks and Evek acts as a laugh track Back on the subject of Skyrim, I really hope Bethesda (Namely Todd Howard, of course) is a bit more subtle with their build-up of hype. Oblivion was hyped to hell and back with unrealistic expectations on the level of a frigging Lionhead title, and spewing the word "Radiant" everywhere will probably just hurt sales rather than increase them.
You live under a rock...on mars?
Under Mars?
Under Mars?
No, I'm sure that Mars also constitutes the ground that the rock is lying on..
Woahoa, you had colourable beards in Oblivion? Wut?
