What is with all this beard talk?
IMHO, the quest that took the cake for the dark brother hood was the one where you had to wait until the guy was sitting in his chair to kill him.
The one where you infiltrate the party and pit everyone against eatchother is hands-down my favorite quest in the entire game

Hopefully part of the new radiant AI for skyrim will be some basic deduction skills "Hey, there's dead guy right there next to you that wasn't dead a few seconds ago, did you have anything to do with that?" :v:

Imagine making Emperor Martin into a VILLAGE IDIOT! MUAHAHAHAHAHA
it would be cool if they put in some quests involving the falmer.
I understand that, but tell me how you are going to fight with a staff using only one hand? It's usually pretty long.
Use it as a shield or some counter weapon I guess. You don't actually hit with it, you just deviate attacks and use your other weapon to strike the enemy.
So, uh... How about them beards, eh?
Have beards been clearly announced yet ?
Yeah, that was announced pretty early IIRC, but I don't remember what article that was in.
Have beards been clearly announced yet ?
well it was included in the concept art for male Elven armor. Scratch that. Pretty much every single male concept art has a beard.
between the time from the release of oblivion and the release of skyrim i have developed the ability to grow a beard. coincedence, i think not
Fuck yes.
If all that Dwemer shit doesn't weigh 20+ pounds like it did in Morrowind I'll be pissed. Lugging that shit around for quests sucked because you had to carry about 80 pounds of some shitty scrap metal halfway across Morrowind to some asshole who gives you 250 gold [editline]31st January 2011[/editline]
On that subject, ALONG WITH BLACKJACKS?!, what I want is for the weight of stuff you're carrying to affect how well you swim. In Oblivion/Morrowind, it didn't seem to have any effect at all. You could be wearing armor and 250 lbs, and still manage to swim perfectly fine, as well as resurface after going under.
Daggerfall had that. Needless to say, you fucking sank like a rock and couldn't get back up if you had any amount of armor on.
I can't wait to get the real full version of skyrim's theme. The one that takes Morrowind's call of magic and replaces the flute by voices.
You see a dragon fly around the cliffside going in your direction. You get ready for battle. Then all the sudden you see chasing that dragon is thousands of cliffracers. SKREEEEEE!
You see a dragon fly around the cliffside going in your direction. You get ready for battle. Then all the sudden you see chasing that dragon is thousands of cliffracers. SKREEEEEE!
And then they all get stuck in a small hilltop and flap their wings to no avail.

SKREEEEEE!
Hey, do you remember that guy you met. You know, that first face you ever see when you start Morrowind. Well he killed all the cliff racers and was made a saint. Not so bad for a face you see only one time.
Holy shit. That dark elf you mean ?
Yep. then the Daedra killed him. :frown:
Have beards been clearly announced yet ?
Yeah, I have wondered about that too, because in the screenshots apperantly nobody has a beard :raise: But they would be CRAZY if there wouldnt be any beards. I was very suprised to see that there were no beards in Oblivion, not even the Nords had them, What kind of Nords are these guys?!

Another WONDERFUL day in Bethesda studios.
beards...
beards...
I'm serious, if final release has no beards it would decrease my chances of buying. By a lot. It's really something that absolutely has to exist for it to be a convincingly Nordish/viking area. Just imagine a grizzled old viking on a throne adorned with various bones and furs. Now imagine him without a beard. See? Not as awesome a sight.
So i asked Bethesda in twitter about beards :v:
I'd like the difficulty to be a bit like Demon's Souls (except more forgiving..)
Oh god this is incredible
Dear god that is what i call a near-masterpiece.
I'd like the difficulty to be a bit like Demon's Souls (except more forgiving..)
No. DS difficulty, but not more forgiving. You gotta earn that beard, you know.
No. DS difficulty, but not more forgiving. You gotta earn that beard, you know.
* Walks out of sewers* * Gets killed by lvl 1 Mudcrab*
* Walks out of sewers* * Gets killed by lvl 1 Mudcrab*
*revived as spirit* *Same goddamn mudcrab is camping your body* *Later find merchant Mudcrab, He has your stuff from earlier*
I'm probably gonna have to buy a new computer (laptop, no room for desktops) for skyrim, since this comp can barely handle Oblivion even on Low quality. Edit: Heck it can't handle Morrowind all that well.
Oh man, I finally got my GI issue in the mail today. Article is amazing.
