With this knowledge, I now have proof!
[sp]WE are all the Bookers from the ending. All of us playing created the alternate realities. It's a comment on the nature of the way we all slightly change the narrative just by how we play. You walk around in circles for five minutes scavenging? Other players just kept going. Playing. Played. Will play.[/sp]
My mind is more blown than ever before.
since i mentioned it and haven't seen it posted
this is one of the best video game reviews i've ever seen. honestly.

This made the two hour wait for the game literally hurt
At first I was super ridiculously hyped because Sessler usually has good opinions and the praised the game to no end. Then there was a moment of doubt and I wondered if the game actually could be that good.
Then I played the game and found out that yes, the game really could be and IS that good :v:

Heh, I love this about [sp]alternate universe[/sp] type of stories.
This topic is starting to look more and more like a declassified CIA document.
[sp] Thats actually extremely important to the story, an audio log explains they steal music through tears[/sp]
[sp]It's not a really major part of the story, but it's still really interesting to hear stuff like "The Beach Boys - God Only Knows" sung by a 1920's barbershop quartet on a flying airship.[/sp]

Good thing you hid that. Really would have devastated a first time player.
Did anyone check if [sp] Comstock had the branding on his hand as-well? [/sp]

Or an SCP page. :v:
I liked it, I feel like the pacing in the combat ruined it for me because I always felt like I was in a rush, so I missed out a lot on a lot of details.
So how did [sp] Comstock know Booker was coming and did Comstock know that Booker was himself from another reality? That was confusing me a bit.[/sp]
[sp]The Lutece 'siblings' were the 'Archangel' that helped Comstock become the Prophet for Columbia, telling him in advance what would happen to a certain degree. It was via them that he knew of the A.D. that Booker eventually branded on himself and thus marked Booker as the False Prophet. Something tells me the Luteces didn't detail anything past a certain point, though. That, or the 'bad future' of Elizabeth going postal on the world was what he was told of, but without the context.
Makes me wonder what the fuck the Luteces were doing over the course of the story, though, since they seemed to be playing around while helping you simultaneously rather than treating anything seriously. Maybe all of Booker's/Comstock's work, life and trials were just a game to them or something.[/sp]

Spoiler: [sp]The game starts on a boat[/sp]

[sp] I'm pretty sure the Luteces are there just to see if you'd succeed in truly ending the Comstock cycle.[/sp]
ok, the part where [sp] you destroy the siphon and then get teleported to Rapture metro and see a big daddy and little sister in the tunnell and then go up to the light house from the very beginning of Bioshock 1 [/sp] is the only time ever that a video game has made my jaw drop in astoundment.
One thing that I still don't quite understand despite having a pretty solid knowledge of game and ending is [sp]how does Liz even have her powers in the first place? unless I missed something important the only conclusion I can come to is that her interaction with the Lutece's portal/timewarp/tear as a infant gave her those powers[/sp]

[sp]I think they engineered the whole thing to make sure Booker collapsed the Columbia timelines. That way they never meet, and so they never get killed and lose their personalities via their endless traveling through realities. Robert gets his wish to set everything the way it's supposed to be and return everything to their own timelines, and Rosalind complies because she's a loving sister.
There's an audiolog where she says that she'll try to put Elizabeth back in her rightful timeline for Robert, and that no matter what, it will "end in tears." She'll lose her brother, but everything will be the way they both know it should be.[/sp]

[sp]I thought it was a cool parallel between Elizabeth/Songbird and the Little Sister/Big Daddy.[/sp]

[sp]He shouldn't have it since he never gave away Annabelle. Actually, he never even had Annabelle.[/sp]

(spoiler warning for above image)
This made me giggle more than it probably should have.
Amazing game. It rivals the original in story and writing, in my opinion. And beats it in gameplay by far.
I just wish weapons' appearance would be modified by your upgrades.
Spoiler: [sp]The game starts on a boat[/sp]
Another spoiler: [sp]The protagonist's name is Booker DeWitt.[/sp]

It's hard for me to say which one has better gameplay, because they both are very different. I feel like I was more immersed and emotionally attached to Rapture, but then the characters in Infinite were pretty awesome.
I think the score for the original BioShock was outstanding and really added to the feeling of hopelessness.

[sp]Her finger getting caught causes her to exist outside of time, basically.[/sp]

[sp] Followed by the infinite amount of Bioshock 1 lighthouses just made my jaw come off[/sp]
Finishing this game late at night is a terrible idea. I won't be able to sleep because I'm still trying to wrap my head around the mindfucktacular ending.
Speaking of which, was anyone else severely creeped out by the ending sequence? [sp]All of those Elizabeth's showing up, staring at me, getting ready to drown me was the stuff of nightmares.[/sp]
Just finished the game with my jaw on the floor. That was probably the single greatest ending to a game I've played in a very long time.
[sp]Her finger getting caught causes her to exist outside of time, basically.[/sp]
[sp]But Comstock was wondering around between dimensions, surely he must have shed some piece of organic matter. Is the amount of power you receive proportional to the amount of your body you left behind?
Another question, what will happen to the Luteces after the the disappearance of Columbia and why?[/sp]
[sp]Her finger getting caught causes her to exist outside of time, basically.[/sp]
[sp]This is completely guessing. It's not explained.[/sp]

[sp]This is the point where you're looking way to much into things.[/sp]

Holy fuck. Coolest ending to a video game I have ever played.
Like seriously, this is what happens to you during it.

So the only reason [sp] there were choices in the game was to show that there really were infinite doors, variables, and constants but they all lead to the same conclusion, like what Elizabeth said? So choices in this game didn't really matter as much as in bioshock 1 did.[/sp]
I just want to say I appreciate all the spoiler tags in here. I was actually afraid to enter the thread before I finished the game, but now that I'm done I'm glad to see my fears were incorrect.
I'm terrified to play wow or lol or anything because I just know some jerk will spoil it
