It's magnetized.
How does that work?
This(EXTREME SPOILER) just makes me extremely sad: [sp] "Due to the fact Booker (and therefore Comstock) is dead, the cycle has ended. Because of this, the events of Bioshock, Bioshock 2, and Bioshock Infinite are now cancelled out completely, due to the fact the time loop never existed." [/sp]
why would [sp] Bioshock + Bioshock 2 be cancelled from their own universe though? Did the story of Rapture play a part in any of it? Or did the loop's destruction destroy all universes except the one original one?[/sp]
That isn't a fact, just pure speculation by the guy who leaked the ending, [sp] the only thing "cancelled" is your campaign through columbia and the existence of columbia as a whole.[/sp]
As it stands, I am liking infinite the most out of the series. I'm gonna see if I feel the same after my post-completion hype dies off, but I feel I will.
Alright so that was bullshit, [sp]the Lady Comstock boss fight was literally impossible, I have no idea what the game expected me to do there. I had no ammo at all, I kept dying over and over the second I started shooting at her and she found me, I was just dead in seconds from a combination of the soldiers reviving over and over and her taking my health down to a speck in an instant. My guns that I was good with were the ones that you had to aim with and because she just flies around really damn fast I could never hit her with them until she stopped to revive more soldiers and then I would be barraged with bullets and her hitting me from trying to unload on her. I guess the game has a timer or something for that boss fight because I'm assuming the only reason I won is because I was there for so long the game just kind of made her die[/sp]
As a note I'm playing on hard mode because well, that's what it seemed like everyone was recommending to do, but that was just annoying.
if his skyhook/freight hooks were that powerfully magnetised it would be pulling metal sheets off of fucking rooftops

How does that work?
I can't name the fictional science by how it works, that's just what Booker says the first time you jump to a hook, "must be magnetized". Maybe only a specific field? Tuned magnetic hooks make just as much sense as floating cities.

[sp]Which explains why Booker says he hadn't heard of it despite the fact that a flying city that broke away from America would have been huge news[/sp]. Don't mind me, still picking up pieces of my brain after that ending.
Semi-related: [sp]System Shock reboot set on the moon?[/sp]

Sorry, I'm tired and that was my sleep-deprived attempt at an ICP reference. :v:

I agree and it feels weird because I think Bioshock will be a more memorable game but as far as mechanics and story/writing/characters go Infinite was just superior.
Are we seriously talking about the feasibility of magnetized hooks in a game about flying cities
Wait a minute.
[sp]Who was bound and shot in the lighthouse? Did the Letuce twins do it?[/sp]
Love the game, 9.5/10
But it just wasnt as good as Bioshock 1.
I had better gameplay but it didnt have as strong moments as Bioshock 1.
Like going into arcadia, or the whole sander cohen segment.
Fuck I need to replay it right now.
Perhaps not in the middle of the game, but I thought the ending was amazing.

I will always remember the first as having a setting so amazingly outlandish, but I think Infinite did a better job of showing that setting to the player. Its far more detailed, and it really helps that you're not one of the 3 people in the city who aren't drug-crazed mutants.
Seeing the place alive with other people really sold the world to me.
Not to mention they did a great job with Elizabeth being a companion character.
Wait a minute.
[sp]Who was bound and shot in the lighthouse? Did the Letuce twins do it?[/sp]
Some dude. Probably.
Wow that ending. Clearly the people I saw complaining about it when was leaked didn't play the fucking game themselves.
Kind of short, combat got a bit same-y, but still a fucking amazing game.

Writing/story is not better than Bioshocks, thats just flat out wrong.
Infinite was good but Bioshock 1 was amazing, all the insane dialog from splicers, the ghosts, the extremely fucked up audio logs.
Sander Cohen and Andrew Ryan.
Infinite just had better gameplay/visuals

[sp]Booker never heard about it because he's from a different world, a world where he hasn't baptised himself yet.[/sp]

rip some dude.
Also I'm sad that the tainted love cover wasn't done by Max Raabe

Also I didn't guess that [sp]Rapture would show up at the end[/sp]
Also I didn't guess that [sp]Rapture would show up at the end[/sp]
[sp]Honestly, given we knew that alternate realities would play a major role, I was expecting it all along. That said, they way to they brought you there was really well done[/sp]
[sp]I felt pretty bad for Songbird :c[/sp]
anyone else get an Alice in Wonderland feeling with the [sp]Letuce Twins?[/sp]
I expected a little more songbird. Didn't really get much info about it either unless I missed any logs related to it.
I expected a little more songbird. Didn't really get much info about it either
You werent supposed to get more info on him.
Its like big daddys, they are supposed to be a mystery.
anyone else get an Alice in Wonderland feeling with the [sp]Letuce Twins?[/sp]
Yeah, definitely.
[sp]The fact that their personalities have been removed or streamlined to the point of nonexistence due to their free-running through the universes certainly added to the creepy/comic paradox.[/sp]
I expected a little more songbird. Didn't really get much info about it either unless I missed any logs related to it.
I did too. The trailers painted Songbird to be a constant threat or somewhat constant but in game it seems like [sp]he only appears to move the plot forward.[/sp]

Bioshock had a few characters with great writing, Bioshock Infinite has several characters with great writing. Audio logs were comparable. I guess the shit splicers said was more memorable because they were crazy, and I'd say the audio logs are comparable.
They did such a good job pretty much any game with companion or party characters before seems like a blind stumbling facsimile of what Bioshock Infinite did with Elizabeth.
why do i get a consistantly smooth framerate but sometimes get these 5 or 6 second freezes, its making the game nearly unplayable for me. does anyone else have this and if so have you found a fix?
Also why were [sp]Liz and the twins able to manipulate space time at will? So the female twin created all this stuff, then got her brother from another universe, then they used machines to get Liz... so why did she have powers to manipulate this stuff? Was it because her pinkie was cut off? The twins don't really need explaining though, just wondering if I missed it[/sp]
i've only met elizabeth for about ten minutes now
i expect rule 34 to be EVERYWHERE

I literally just camped a vendor until it was done.

I don't know about that. I love Bioshock 1 too but I think Infinite is definitely above it. While Bioshock 1 had the "everyone's psycho down here oh man" appeal Infinite is more like "Everyone WAS sane here but then I came and just turned everything into a huge mess what have I done" kind of effect, instead of witnessing the aftermath of a catastrophe you're responsible for the catastrophe in Infinite, and I just think that's got some more appeal to it.

There'll only be few, you'll see why after you finish the game
Anyway guys, do you think there'll be another Bioshock game? Or is Irrational gonna move on?
