I'm kinda sad that a lot of the cooler stuff from bioshock 1 and 2 isn't in here. Different endings, gun upgrades that change its appearance, different ammo types...

I thought gun upgrades did change appearance? I thought my hand cannon looked cooler after I upgraded it...
Also did anyone notice [sp]the door combination "0451"? It's more than likely a reference but a part of me likes to think it plays into the "millions of constants and variables" plot thread, like 0451 would always open that one door, just in millions of different cities[/sp]
I fucking love this game.
0451 isnt exclusive to Shock games, its a running gag between a group of devs.
[sp]Did Booker sell Annabelle before or after his baptism?[/sp]
[sp] He doesnt have Annabelle in the baptism timeline since he is sterile in that one[/sp]
Elizabeth's animations are all fucked up. Looks like she's doing the robot while picking locks.
Just picked up my copy today

Art book is pretty neat too
[sp]Did Booker sell Annabelle before or after his baptism?[/sp]
[sp]Before, which is why he was filled with guilt and went through with the baptism in the first place.[/sp]
How long is this game if I were to rush through it? (I won't, but just a conservative estimate)
I'm not sure on other difficulties, but on easy it should take you about 8 hours, I think.
[sp]Did Booker sell Annabelle before or after his baptism?[/sp]
[sp]Trick question. Booker's choice at the baptism creates "Booker" and "Comstock."
Choosing baptism, Booker becomes Comstock, who is rendered sterile by Lutece's machines.
Refusing baptism, Booker stays Booker, has a wife, and has Anna.
She only exists because he ran from baptism. [/sp]
[sp]Before, which is why he was filled with guilt and went through with the baptism in the first place.[/sp]
[sp]He was filled with guilt because of his combat history and time with the Pinkertons.[/sp]
[sp] He doesnt have Annabelle in the baptism timeline since he is sterile in that one[/sp]
[sp]Why is he sterile in that one? Do they say? I'm very sorry for all these probably stupid questions.[/sp]
[sp]Why is he sterile in that one? Do they say? I'm very sorry for all these probably stupid questions.[/sp]
[sp]Letuce's machines render him sterile when he comes to see a demonstration.[/sp]

[sp]His wife died after giving birth,it's impossible for him to have both his wife and Anna.[/sp]
so i'm currently [sp]chasing elizabeth through the docks and shit, i think i'm about to meet a handyman (oh boy)[/sp]. how far in am I? I don't want to play too fast and beat it in one sitting. :<
I have a retail copy and every time I try to install via disk, the installer randomly just starts downloading instead of continuing to install through the disk. I have an ultra-slow connection and I don't want to have a three day download because the installer decides it doesn't want to use the disk at random intervals
Any help?
[sp]His wife died after giving birth,it's impossible for him to have both his wife and Anna.[/sp]
[sp]Yeah, it was unneeded information. He has a wife in each timeline, but whether or not he's sterile is the issue. He did have a wife, she's just dead, which I guess I didn't make explicit.[/sp]

Haha, a Handyman.
GOOD FUCKING LUCK!
so wait
[sp]down to a basic level, it seems to revolve around time channels merging, much like in Donnie Darko if I recall correctly: Elizabeth's/the "Columbia channel" is a constant but Booker's is a variable. And so to end it, before being "reborn" as Comstock through baptism he chooses to die (or rather accepts to die), therefore cutting off the channels in which he is Comstock at the very root, therefore never stealing his daughter, Columbia never existing, never giving his daughter to the twins, etc.
Booker and Liz literally erased all possible channels that result in Columbia existing.[/sp]
...yes?
:tinfoil:

[sp]So all Elizabeths and all Bookers were destroyed in the end?[/sp]
i'm on the console
but i bet it's the same thing
Undertow works great for Handymen, though you get that vigor a little bit later. Just grab that fucker and pull him to you and shoot the shit out of his heart in the short window that he's stunned. Though you better get ready to get the fuck out of dodge once he comes back from the stun.
so what do you guys think the DLC levels will be?
personally i hope they just have fun with it. fuck the story, let me be spiderman

I don't like using undertow.
THE HOLES :tinfoil:
So I'm about 5 hours in, and taking my sweet sweet time with the game. I absolutely love it so far, it's so damn immersive.
However, that immersion has a price - to me, because I'm getting so engrossed in the story and enviroment, it kills me when I notice things like a mirror not reflecting, the water reflecting a man standing a pool but not me because I'm a floating head, or backwards textures.
Yanks me right out of it, because they got so many of the little things down pat, and the ones they forget are so much more obvious.
Elizabeth is actually really useful.
Elizabeth is actually really useful.
I can't count the amount of times she's thrown me ammo when I needed it most.
[sp]So all Elizabeths and all Bookers were destroyed in the end?[/sp]
[sp]Keep watching after the credits.[/sp]
[sp]It is heavily implied that collapsing all of the existences in which Comstock exists only leaves the timelines in which Booker never felt guilty enough to be driven to the baptism. Booker wakes up and runs to the baby's room. You never see the baby, which is more of the two-possibility theme the Luteces talk about throughout the game, but there's music of something being played with. Or maybe it's just ambient music. Either way implies Anna's alive and they get to be together.[/sp]
