People were saying the same thing for Mercenaries 2.
You're right, I should just ignore every sequel to a buggy game because the sequel will clearly be the same and nothing ever changes.
People were saying the same thing for Mercenaries 2.
Then again, EA was behind Mercs 2. Pandemic and LucasArts had no problems with Mercs 1.
Then again, EA was behind Mercs 2. Pandemic and LucasArts had no problems with Mercs 1.
Pandemic made Mercs 2.
God damnit, looking at those specs worries me that it will be a bugger to run.
Money.. :Dawkins102: [editline]12:02AM[/editline] Maybe dad finally gets me Windows 7, he usually buy me something random for my computer every year.
Hopefully this'll be worth it. If it is, I'm glad that we're finally moving on from a 9 year old OS at last.
Lucky for me that my C# teacher gave everyone in the class a free copy of Win 7 :buddy:
Lucky ass
Well the first can't run (or barely runs) on Vista, I guess it's kind of fair for this one to be only for Vista & 7, even though they could at least supported DX9 in some way, but whatever, I'll be enjoying this game on my 7 with delicious graphics.
You have 13371 posts
Hmm I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit but I just can't get around to getting rid of XP. I love it. I don't like the UI of Vista OR 7, I have computers with either of them. And I lose all my data when I upgrade it? I have a portable hard drive but transferring over 400 gigs of files to the right spot seems difficult, not to mention I don't have enough room. I'd lose so many games in the upgrade process, so I'll wait as long as possible before upgrading.
You're 18, get a job
I'm so lazy, and it doesn't fit well with my school at the moment. But I'm considering a summer job.
did you get my pm?
did you get my pm?
Yep, although I'm not sure yet.
well it is a legitimate offer, so go ahead if you'd like. if not then oh wellz. (User was banned for this post ("Report abuse" - TH89))
beefy requirements. I really need to upgrade my computer someday.
Pandemic made Mercs 2.
Then they got fired for putting Sarah Palin in the DLC that they were GOING to release, I would've been all over that. God knows everyone would've.
It's not always about new features. Felexibility and user/coder/hardware-producer friendlyness is always a big pro. For example the default functions a DX card has to do and lots of changes that people at the consumer side don't notice. Of course I didn't find this ou myself. Wiki and interviews with developers show that DX10 was a necessary step.
OpenGL is much more flexible and has technology for years that dx 10 had just gotten. DX10 was a huge joke, I'm not sure if you were around back then but back in the day a DX upgrade meant something. Something big. With DX10 it was a laughable joke and I hope it won't be the same with DX11 (Haven't looked into DX11 yet.)
I just got Win7 last week and dear god it's amazing. love it to death always thought I'd stick with xp for another ten years but goddamn [editline]12:38AM[/editline]
OpenGL is much more flexible and has technology for years that dx 10 had just gotten. So I did some checking... The 'easiest' way to 'upgrade' from XP to Win7 is to first upgrade to Vista, then upgrade THAT to Win7, so as to maintain all your program installations, settings, registry etc. Well fuck that. I need more incentive than Just Cause 2 to force me to deal with that shit, because I sure as hell am not doing a clean install and starting from scratch! The other way to do it is to backup all your shit to an external drive which is just mind numbingly time consuming and ass-backwards.
Does anyone know if this is going to have limited activations? If it is, I may get the steam one. If it doesn't, then I will pre-order it at gamestop or something similar.
...but if you buy it over Steam doesn't the advanced launch console allow you to run it in as low as DX7?
...but if you buy it over Steam doesn't the advanced launch console allow you to run it in as low as DX7?
That only works for Source engine games, and DX 6 technically works.
Bah, I'll never upgrade my current PC, it's too old.

I think what people don't understand is that this means it's going to be better. Oh boo fucking hoo, developers concentrating their efforts on using new technology to make the game run faster and look better. Please god help us. Never stop using D3D9!
You know it's time to upgrade when your OS is about as old as some of the kids on YouTube [editline]12:45AM[/editline]
So I did some checking... Also, you will only need to redownload your drivers from the manufacturer's site. lrn2research
People need to upgrade to vista or Windows 7. XP is already/becoming outdated. Windows 7 is better in almost every way.
Windows 7 is incompatible with my network card. Fuck you.

Also, you will only need to redownload your drivers from the manufacturer's site. lrn2research
From what I was reading, while it backs up your physical files, the registry settings and such that allow them to actually WORK are effectively wiped clean. Like a 'custom' XP reinstall where you tell it to delete the existing OS install but leave your files intact (so it wipes the registry & windows directory but your actual data stays as it always was).
People need to upgrade to vista or Windows 7. XP is already/becoming outdated. Windows 7 is better in almost every way.
Windows XP is still fantastic, and it could go another 10 years easily if Microsoft wanted it to. Windows 7 Is nice, but XP didn't use slightly more than a gig of Ram just to run
