Oh god bioshock infinite has so many plot holes ._.
The ending just feels cheap
How about you try and list some then? I'm interested in hearing what you think goes for a plot hole.

I don't recall seeing ANY plot holes. The ending wrapped everything up nicely.
People don't know what plot holes are anymore. They just feel the need to label any point they missed as a plot hole so they look like educated reviewers. Go to any film centered message board and it's all you see.
You're not looking into it. It feels cheap if you're not thinking about it.

Not my video but it helped explain some stuff.
That's a really unfortunate thumbnail for that video. I'd link it, just to be on the safe side.
I just finished the game.
First off I am SOOOOO damn happy I stayed clear of any info about the game beforehand.
Second: What is Songbird? [sp]At one point I thought it was Anna's "mother" lady comstock somehow transformed, especially after the first Lady Comstock fight[/sp]
Why [sp]do we kill it? [/sp]
[sp]What about the very timeline we are playing? If the "regular" timelines have endless alternatives but a culminating point in the baptism, why does this one not? Sure there gotta be a point where Comstock, for example, didn't kill the Luteces so they could never get their "power". Ok, the point is that this only needed to happen in ONE universe but still.
Or one where Anna grows up to be the "old Anna" we see her as, but has absolute power over her powers because in one universe the statue syphon stopped wrking for some odd reason. Hit by a meteorite, whatever.
Wouldn't, in THAT universe, the old Anna see our "played" universe ?
[/sp]
The word pretentious gets thrown about willy nilly these days as well.
Just beat the game. The ending was awesome... [sp]But pretty sad... Poor Dewitt...[/sp]

[sp]Technically it's only a few Dewitts dying.[/sp]
[editline]2nd April 2013[/editline]
Also [sp]How does Comstock know that Booker is coming? After all, that was done by the Lutece twins. [/sp]
Since it seems to need saying again
Elizabeth's powers:
[sp]Anna has her powers because she is from another timeline, and the universe is trying to pull her through to the original; this effect grows as she gets older due to buildup. Lucete says as much in an audio tape in her tower.[/sp]
About the end:
[sp]One booker goes to the baptism, the other doesn't, that is a fork in the timeline. The one who does becomes comstock. All of the events in that comstock timeline also branch out into more timelines, making the baptism scene the root of all comstock timelines. At the end of the game, elizabeth takes you to the point in time of the baptism. You don't see another booker there because people travelling through timelines meld into eachother, as seen multiple times throughout the game. This lets booker remember the baptism that he both did and did not go to, and so he accepts that he is comstock, and lets the elizabeths drown him. This death destroys all comstock timelines, since the baptism was utterly rejected.
After the credits, you are seeing the timeline where booker did not go to the baptism, where comstock does not offer to pay booker's gambling debt, since he no longer exists.[/sp]

[Sp] Comstock knew booker had incarved "AD" in his hand, so he said to his people that one day, there would be a false shepard arriving to colombia with "AD" incarved in their hand, and his people let him know.[/SP]
Also [sp]How does Comstock know that Booker is coming? After all, that was done by the Lutece twins. [/sp]
[sp]Comstock due to all the timeline play has memories of events of columbia within all columbia timelines. The lucetes say that timeline jumping has the effect of creating false memory on those jumping. For the lucetes, they become so alike they can finish eachothers sentences. For the guards, they remember death instead of blocking out the memory, and go insane. For booker, he remembers a false reason for trying to get elizabeth.
For comstock, he thinks he is a prophet, and practically is, since he gets all memories of transpired timelines.[/sp]
[sp]You should really make that say Elizabeth's power[/sp]

That doesn't explain any questions.
What about a timeline[sp]where Booker doesn't go to the Baptism but has a different event that makes him become Comestock. As there are endless possibilities, it sure has one universe where it happened. Or maybe he becomes Andrew Ryan.
The weak point is the Baptism since it is only one single root. What we are playing and knowing as players is only the group of timelines where he gets Comestock by Baptism.[/sp]
[sp]killuah you need to edit the quote to reflect the non-spoilery post edit[/sp]

How. [sp]The Lutece twins say that he carved the AD after he sold Anna. How did Comestock know of this?[/sp]
[sp]I just explained how[/sp]
[sp]
For comstock, he thinks he is a prophet, and practically is, since he gets all memories of transpired timelines.[/sp]
The game spent a lot of time telling us that [sp]he is using Anna to get info from other dimensions. Comstock himself never traveled[/sp]
How. [sp]The Lutece twins say that he carved the AD after he sold Anna. How did Comestock know of this?[/sp]
[sp] Comstock had/has a machine that can generate rifts to other timelines, it is through that he knew about Booker having a child whilst he was unable to and I'd imagine he used the same method to see what Booker was upto after he took Anna.[/sp]

[sp]How did he know the Booker who carved the AD would come? Sure there exist endless timelines where a Booker without the AD would come to Columbia. Maybe the neighbours knocked when Booker was about to do it. Maybe the telephone rang. Same child-selling Booker, no AD.
Ok sure you can say "but the Lutece twins bring the one with the AD, but that means Comstock didn't know about the Booker before coming to Columbia, he only knew about the Booker in Columbia, and that one has the AD.
But then again since there are countless universes, there sure is a group of timelines where the twins grabbed a Booker without the AD.
What happens to those? What happens to the New Yorks of those Bookers?[/sp]
The game spent a lot of time telling us that [sp]he is using Anna to get info from other dimensions. Comstock himself never traveled[/sp]
[sp]Yet Comstock taking Anna from DeWitt's timeline into his own is blatantly shown[/sp]

[sp]Uhm it shows him on booker's side of the tear so actually yes he did.[/sp]

What the fuck, what are you even talking about [sp]Andrew Ryan and Booker don't even exist in the same universe. Also it is clearly stated that in EVERY timeline the baptism is hwere he either becomes Comstock or does not.[/sp]

Dude what the fuck are you even on about?
I'm playing through Bioshock for the first time, I never got round to playing it but I was sat up til 5am at my mate's on his 360. Installed it on my PC, playing on hardest, hadn't died til the 1st big daddy and I didn't realise Vitachambers wouldn't work which kicked me back about 30 mins. I've only died 3 times since then but one was to a big daddy when I was pressing the wrong key for health kit. I don't know why I never played it because I think it's sick, yeah it's a bit dumbed down if we're calling it a successor to SS2, but the environments are really awesome and the story/gameplay has a lot of similar elements (Player is an outsider/has been in cryostasis, there's been a lot of crazy shit going on, factions fighting for control of the city/ship, audio logs, weapon upgrades, psi/plasmids, wrench best weapon etc. Speaking of the wrench it's well funny watching their heads bounce when you smash them) to SS2 (More brackets naah kidding) I can't even be arsed writing the rest of this post so I'm off to go play it now
[sp]You're looking into it too far; we are being shown one universe where comstock is aware of the AD, what he would do if he didn't know is not of concern.
Additionally you're wrong, Comstock was in your universe when he retrieved Anna.
You still didn't remove the spoiler from your quote a few posts back.[/sp]
Now that I've beaten the game, it's screenshot adventure time. There seems to be no real way to make this game look bad.
Few of the better ones.
Those are great wallpapers, thanks!
[sp]Yet Comstock taking Anna from DeWitt's timeline into his own is blatantly shown[/sp]
[sp]That is done by the Lutece twins. The audiologs say that he made them do it/paid them to do it.
But you are right, he travels there. I just don't see how that gives him his Prophet delusions. Especially since he already IS the prophet when the whole child-stealing happens.[/sp]

[sp] He gets his prophecies by looking at tears through the Lutece's machine that generates them, they don't just randomly happen[/sp]

[sp]He's still traveled between timelines though, so I don't get what your point is at all. Travelling around doesn't give him the delusions, being a religious zealot gives him them.[/sp]

Cheers! Got more on the way; wish I had a higher resolution monitor though, or that 'tiledshot' worked. Ah well, maybe someday.
