BioShock Infinite thread VII: I appreciate a lady, who appreciates value!

I never knew that Levine originally meant to have a flying city in Bioshock 1 but stuck with an underwater city because it met better reception from his associates. Makes it feel less odd for me to play Infinite before trying out the first.
Does anyone know how to get this game to work under Wine? I really wish this game was on Linux, I mean, they are porting it to Mac, and it is unreal 3, so... it really wouldn't be hard.
Look up the history of the song, it fits even better then.

I know, it's great!
I was referencing the review in the OP, however.

You should definitely still play the first one though. It may not be quite as pretty as Infinite, but hot damn dat atmosphere.
The people at Roosterteeth did it (with about 4-5 tries I believe) and I'm pretty sure they used a controller; you just have to be patient, use the handcannon or sniper, and restart if the damage indicator isn't a "critical hit."
Wait, the damage indicator is different for critical hits? I never noticed, how does it look different?
Unrelated note: Does anyone know if this is actually the best place to contact them?
The Gunship defense on 1999 should only exist as a punishment in prisions because this is fucking impossible jesus christ
Wait, the damage indicator is different for critical hits? I never noticed, how does it look different?
I believe there is something in the options that'll just make a big CRITICAL pop up when you do it
I've been using it in 1999 mode because it helps a lot when only using high accuracy weapons.

Using a lot of traps should help, specifically shock jockey if you invested into shock link.

It's a ridiculous pain, but take advantage of Bucking Bronco and Undertow to toss enemies straight off the airship, and also bear in mind that the Patriots will NOT shoot at you, so you're free to just spam their backs while they're facing the other way.

Making insane use of Bucking Bronco and Undertow, as well as abusing the hell out of Skyrails.
This is fucking hard though jesus christ.
The original Bioshock wasn't hard at all, but fuck man
this is some seriously hard shit
One design choice I seriously don't agree with is the inability to take health kits with me
also [sp]FUCKIN' 'ELL DOES SONGBIRD TAKE HIS SWEET ASS TIME[/sp]
Like there's Zeppelins and I need to destroy those but there's like twin patriots and an assload of vox on the deck
and when the blimp dies you go back to the start
fuck man I thought parts of this game were just hard but this shit is straight up dante must die
One design choice I seriously don't agree with is the inability to take health kits with me
Me too, jesus christ do I miss that sometimes.
bioshock never had health kits
you had to eat food and use health kits as you saw them
its more fps than rpg

Uh, you had health kits that you could carry. You could carry like 9 medkits on you maximum.

What, no you could carry health kits in Bioshock one and two.

Anyone else remember frantically driving the B button into the controller when a Rosie got 3 feet infront of your face?
Just finished the game, [sp]I understood most of what was happening around me, though for a while I was expecting it to be some kind of assassin's creed 'present day guy in a digital recreation of [alternate] history' thing, though once I saw new york under attack I kind of accepted the fact it could actually be 1912.[/sp] Also [sp]I've always been a fan of quantum immortality so I came to expect that twist pretty fast. Only thing that confuses me is what exactly caused comstock to become infertile? Exposure to Lutece tech? Just one of those mysteries lost to cut content?[/sp]
random commentary, [sp]I noticed immediately on battleship island that the grinder organ music playing on the boardwalk (just before seeing monument crumbling) was playing a carnival rendition of 'girls just wanna have fun'. This lended to my 'world created by modern people' thing, though that was nicely wrapped up later by the red tear at the memorial town, with the accompanying audiolog.[/sp]
alsoalso I appear to have gotten the well rounded achievement but I never bothered to unlock the 'charge' vigor. hmm

[sp]Apparently over exposure to the Lutece's machine caused it... So yes. Same with his cancer and rapid aging.[/sp]

Actually, that was explained as [sp] Albert Fink using the tears to pull in music from the future so he and Jeremiah could make a profit.[/sp]
I can't not hear Bastila whenever Rosalind speaks.
i can't not hear femshep
but i still enjoy it
Well this was the best free game I ever played
Actually, that was explained as [sp] Albert Fink using the tears to pull in music from the future so he and Jeremiah could make a profit.[/sp]
which is what I was talking about with the other half of the sentence you quoted, regarding the audiolog that explains that
[sp]nicely wrapped up later by the red tear at the memorial town, with the accompanying audiolog[/sp]
loved that little touch though
Well this was the best free game I ever played
You should consider actually buying it, we want to support games like this as much as we can.
How are vigors and salts explained?

Unless both of your weapons are empty
Than its 50/50 (At least in my experience)
How are vigors and salts explained?
[sp]Stolen from Rapture as well as Songbird.[/sp]
Am I the only who one was weirded out that unlike Plasmids, Vigors are almost COMPLETELY ignored by the plot and every character?
Flaws like that bother me a little, the first bioshock made it seem like there was a reason for everything.
vigors didn't seem essential to the plot at all, just there cause it was Bioshock.
