I disagree. I thought it was an extremely fun game that had writing that felt mucky and contrived. The whole game felt like it should have been something else, well the story did anyway.
Seriously? The narrative is the tightest out of any game I've ever played. The way that, through the whole game, you have no idea what's going on but there's subtle clues, then you find out absolutely EVERYTHING is integral to the story... no other game has achieved it. A lot of other games' stories feel padded and unrewarding after finishing Infinite. I'd go as far as to say that Infinite's story brings a new level of dignity to the medium, and is a huge step forward that I hope other games take note of.
[sp]Let the majestic Songbird seduce you with its mellow screeches~[/sp] JOKES BESIDE, I assume your mind is now fucked and you need numerous questions answered.
Not really though, I got everything, which is why my mind has been FUCKING BLOWN, I wasn't expecting [sp]Rapture[/sp] at ALL, I mean, by them saying that [sp]the games were different universes, I didn't think it would be literally :v: [/sp] Also the Lutece brothers are my favorite characters for now. Shit I got shivers through my whole body. [sp]I also got scared the FUCK out when that boy of silence just materialized out of nowhere on Elizabeth's jail[/sp]
[sp]Book is Jack, Comstock is Ryan, and I think Liz is more Sister than Jack.[/sp]
[sp]It's all up for interpretation, but I feel that because Booker is Comstock in an alternate timeline, he can't really parallel anyone but. I agree Comstock is Ryan and Liz is more Sister than Jack, though.[/sp] Also, what kind of music is the Lutece theme? I recognize the instruments from songs like "Heart to Heart" from Meet the Medic, but I can't place the instrument or the song style.

Just rewatched the ending, and I feel like a fucking moron. Major spoilers bla bla bla [sp]Booker says HIMSELF that the Elizabeth(s) at the end that drown him are not the same Elizabeth that he's been with the entire game. I know we've all been going back and forth on that, but the game shows it plain as day.[/sp]
Just finished it. My god. Starting another playthrough, I sincerly hope this isn't Ken Levine's last game.

Honestly, a lot of confusion about the ending is just poor listening.[/sp]
If you think Infinite is incredibly mediocre I am genuinely interested in what you think is a great game because personally it's easily the best game I've played in years, maybe this entire gen.
Lol yeah I agree this is easily the HL2 in this generation IMO Personally I don't think Bioshock 1 and Infinite should be judged as seperate games but as a whole, because they kind of work well off each other as a yin and yang in not only setting but story, level design style, etc. Both do what they do really well with some really exceptional parts in it. In my eyes they are meant to be judged together, not as seperate, and when you do that there's no doubt that "Bioshock" is an instant classic of this generation (I also wish people would stop counting Bioshock 2 as apart of the series because it clearly isn't, Irrational disowns it, and it is pretty much the definition of a "straight-to-DVD" spin off of the first game. Not that it's bad mind you, but it's basically fanfiction endorsed and paid for by the publisher/IP owner of the series).

Downloading the "complete" soundtrack after buying the original ("complete" version is fanmade and adds a few of the background songs that weren't in the official). Gotta say, I'm liking the 1910's style.
The way that, through the whole game, you have no idea what's going on
This is where i've seen a schism in the playerbase of Infinite. A few buddies from my WoW days and I were playing together (playing and talking on Skype), and 3/4 of us figured out nearly all the major plot points about three hours in. It didn't help that we all had followed Infinite's development from the earliest stages, therefor hearing and loving Levine's early description about the game and interactions you would have with Elizabeth. You could see how the game was going to be (during the first hour or two, and the few choices you're offered), and then you can see where the delays came and how the story was tuned to better fit this path they had decided to take the game on. I can't help knock the feeling that Infinite was meant to be something else altogether that, for whatever reason, was changed in a rather hasty manner
I only have one question though, whom sent that telegraph [sp]don't take 77[/sp]?
I only have one question though, whom sent that telegraph [sp]don't take 77[/sp]?
It says Lutece on the telegraph silly.
The[sp]gear that gives you 50% movement speed from food[/sp]is fucking annoying, I hope I get a replacement soon since you can't unequip anything.
Do you know what I wish the game had? An extended [sp]Comstock House[/sp]. It may be just how I play, but I felt it was WAY too short; I met [sp]the boys of silence[/sp] literally about four times, and honestly there was a lot of potential that wasn't used. This with my previous point is why Infinite isn't a perfect game for me; it's an amazing game, yes, but not the best.
pls no
pls no
Anything the matter, mate? Probably something [sp]Comstock house[/sp] related, I bet.
Love it when this hipster shit starts a bit after the release of a popular game
Let's try not to go down this road. I think Infinite is about as close to gaming nirvana as you're going to get, but other people disagreeing with that is not a bad thing, nor does it mean they're wrong or just going against the trend. I would never call Bioshock Infinite flawless, for it certainly isn't; I just feel its successes overpower its flaws by a massive degree, therefore they hold little weight with me. For others, those "trivial" problems can be something greater.

Man, I wanna play it again, but I'm still feeling down from the end of my first playthrough. I'll never be as good as that first time again...
We've been going back and forth on that?
Maybe I missed something, but weren't we all going around looking for evidence to prove that point? I didn't think we'd reached it as a conclusion yet. Nevermind then.
Man, I wanna play it again, but I'm still feeling down from the end of my first playthrough. I'll never be as good as that first time again...
Oddly, it's almost better the second time around. You see a lot of clever stuff you wouldn't have otherwise.
What's the best thing to choose for survivability in a 1999 run? I was thinking max Shields/Salts then Health.

Alright, here's a hot topic; the graphics. I feel they are pleasant enough, but (devil's advocate here) do you guys think they could have been much better?
Alright, here's a hot topic; the graphics. I feel they are pleasant enough, but (devil's advocate here) do you guys think they could have been much better?
Well...yes and no. On a technical level, I think this is by far the best utilization of Unreal Engine 3 to date, and on an artistic level it's pretty much without competition. That said, the faces for the vast majority of NPCs were REALLY disappointing, the animation was sometimes wooden, and I noticed shadows often went missing in areas with a lot of dynamic lighting.
Wow, looking in my screenshots folder, I have so many goddamn pictures of Elizabeth. Every time she looks at me, I feel the urge to hit my screenshot hotkey. Then there's ones like these...
