Well I think the bloominess is supposed to signify that the light is going through clouds, because there's clouds all around you

Games shouldn't have to make me check to see if I'm having a stroke. It practically hurts to see the game in Original post-processing.

It's a style choice, like anything else. It gives the whole image a nice, soft appearance while still allowing for the detail. I prefer the other method because it's crisper, slightly higher contrast, and it tightens the bloom up a lot. Doesn't necessarily make it better; just gives a different look.

Let's agree to disagree. The Normal post-processing aesthetic is painful for me to look at.
[sp]Part of me wishes the ending was happier, but that's because I'm a sap and I just want to see Elizabeth make it to Paris. That's not really a complaint though, because the ending as-is is amazing.[/sp]
[sp] It's even sadder to think that in not a single universe that happens either, I could be wrong but I think it's implied that booker is always meant to become comstock and die. OR something to that extent.[/sp]
is it just me or do 99% of games feel unprofessional and forced after finishing infinite?

I got Hitman absolution at the same time, but haven't been able to play it because I was occupied with BO:I. I'm scared to even start it up now that I've beaten BO:I

No, not at all lol, thats a terrible attitude to have.
Thats like thinking every game after HL1 just felt unprofessional.
A really good game doesnt lessen others.

[sp]Going by the post-credits scene, it's open-ended enough for the player to assume that Booker can now lead a life where he doesn't have to sell Anna. It also, oddly, implies that the "final" Booker has the memories of what happened at Columbia, even though those timelines no longer exist...I'm still figuring this out, to be honest.[/sp]

[sp] I missed the post credits scene! Shit I'll need to check it out.[/sp]

no you just need to stop making out that this game is perfect
it's far from it
[sp]In the end all of it truly amounts to that old joke that the protagonist wakes up at the beginning and finds out that it was all just a bad dream pretty much. Not that it's a bad thing though. You did essentially close a loop and finally fix the universe that got fucked up by Anna being taken to Columbia. It's not completely like the old joke where no matter what it all basically just amounts to the same conclusion.[/sp]
I'm slightly annoyed with myself, I twigged onto the ending a few seconds before it actually happened and I didn't really get a "wow" moment, even though I know it was a great ending and a great game.

it's perfect to me :(
it's perfect to me :(
It's a great game but you have to admit it has some flaws. No game is perfect.
Also, is it just me, or is Infinite extraordinarily linear compared to the original?
I think I found around 76 of the voxophones. Those last 4 must have been really hidden, because I explored everywhere I could find.
Also, is it just me, or is Infinite extraordinarily linear compared to the original?
It is linear, but are you implying it's a bad thing or a good thing?
[sp]I just want to make sure I've got this right, Booker is Comstock, that is obvious enough. But the booker you play as is the booker who chose not to get baptized and take on a new name. So the luteces' brought our booker into this universe with a tear (thus making him create his own memories?) so that he could get anna back and close the loop?[/sp]
Also, is it just me, or is Infinite extraordinarily linear compared to the original?
If you're referring to the original trailers and teasers, yeah. I was kind of disappointed that there wasn't alot of the "epic scenarios" that showed up in earlier vids, like the bell tower destruction.

Yes.

absolution probably has just about as much polish as infinite.
though it has horrible replay value due to the insanely cramped levels... it's one of those games you just play through every once in a while. it's not like blood money where you can start up a mission and it just places you in a sandbox for you to fuck around in.
[sp]Is there any sense of morality in the game? I'm watching a playthrough and it seems like a typical 'shoot everybody' sort of setup[/sp]

[sp]You'd be correct.[/sp]

Well you can choose to not kills civs and also to [sp]spare Slate[/sp] but it doesn't affect anything

[sp]If you steal from people they wont be too pleased.[/sp]
There's no measurement system for it, but the options are there.
[sp]Also what is the significance of rapture? She says that all the time lines were similar with a man and a light house. Does that mean that the Bioshock or Rapture story is just a different timeline of the same story somehow?[/sp]
While I thought it was a really good game, some of the rabid worshipping going on in this thread is beginning to go a step too far.

I guess I'm so used to recent games like Dishonoured and FC3 where you can sneak through and not engage with enemies. This game seems to just be 'go to a new place and everybody is automatically shooting at you'

TBF it was the same way with the other two Bioshocks.
