[sp]ideology taken to the extreme by a man who believes himself to be almighty and separates from the rest of the world by creating a massive fortress. you, the player, is sent to said fortress by a method of transportation hidden inside a lighthouse. plasmids = vigors, eve = salts. sure doesn't sound like alternate counterparts to me.[/sp]
[sp]Yeah, there's no reason both couldn't have existed in the same universe[/sp]
[sp]only the city is a parallel to rapture. There's always a man, a lighthouse, and a city. those are the only constants. everything else is a variable.[/sp]
[sp]and plasmids and eves?[/sp]
[sp]and plasmids and eves?[/sp]
[sp]stolen from rapture by Fink through tears. Along with the technology for Handymen and Songbird, which were taken from a dead Bigdaddy they found. It's the same for all of Columbia's music which were also stolen from a tear.[/sp]
[editline]30th March 2013[/editline]
[sp]it's revealed through several audiologs by Fink and his brother.[/sp]
[sp] Figured out more proof that Booker=Ryan and other shit.
They both created a utopia(Booker as Comstock, Ryan as Ryan)
they we both killed by their child(Ryan by Jack, Booker by Elizabeth, meaning Elizabeth is Jacks parallel)
they both "lost" their child(Jack was purchaser by Tennabaum/Fontain as an embryo, Anna was taken by Luteces) who were the parallel to Tenebaum, Tenebaum created ADAM/Plasmids/Little Sisters the entire basis of Rapture, Luteces created the floating tech, Quatum physic shit, and Tears the basis of Columbia
they both fought a civil war(Rapture Civil War, and Columbia Civil War with Vox Populi)
Both Ryan and Comstock had a "Final straw" or life changing event, Ryan with the Hiroshima bombing and Booker with wounded knee, which completely changed everything and eventually got Booker to create Columbia as Comstock after the baptize, and Ryan went to build Rapture.
Also these 2 images.
This one first http://i.imgur.com/cxlQTwC.png to give an idea.
Then THIS one is the picture being drawn by the police at the start of the game in the womens house, she is trying to describe booker, she doesnt really know what he looks like, thinks he has red curly hair and shit, but the drawing looks awfully like Andrew Ryan and nothing like Booker which was suspicious http://i.imgur.com/2wE4Gef.jpg
Same little mustache, in a suit.[/sp]
about the parallels to the first game [sp]i do think that booker is probably a paralell to jack, BUT elizabeth is comstock's daughter, in the same regard that in bioshock 1 you are andrew's son. so i think there might be something to elibabeth being infinite's jack, the only difference being you don't play as her. and in a way, you are both atlas, as you help her on her journey, and ryan.[/sp]

[sp]as nicer as that is the constant is the player character. the player character for bioshock was jack. thus booker = jack.[/sp] :v:
Personally, I don't really want them to go onto another Bioshock game.
What I really wish they would do is make a System Shock 3[sp]and start it at a space lighthouse[/sp]

[sp] That doesnt really mean anything, it doesnt change the fact that the parallels are spot on, they just decided for you as the player to play as the Ryan, and your child is what Jack was, is now Elizabeth.
Its just role reversal[/sp]

[sp]Space Lighthouse[/sp] is a bit oddkward. Wouldn't a Navigation Buoy make more sense?

There will never be another system shock 3 game by Irrational games, it sucks but its reality, laws are retarded sometimes.
I think some random ass indie company bought the rights when they ran out recently for company that owned it before.
[sp] Can't really do another Bioshock anyway. Everything else is going to seem pretty insignificant now that it's just tiny blip in the multiverse. It's like when Yahtzee was talking about Mario Galaxy: "Once you've gone to space, where else is there to go?"[/sp]

[sp]could be possible. I just saw it in a more meta fashion. as in the constant man being you as the player, the constant lighthouse as the entry, and the constant city being the setting. the variables are the gameplay.[/sp]

We don't need SHODAN [sp]gaining control over the multiverse.[/sp]

[sp] I figured Fink was the Atlas, well the Fontain, both owned extremely large manufacturing company's that Rapture and Columbia depended on and Comstock/Ryan resented them[/sp]
[sp]daisy fitzroy is fontaine/atlas in infinite. working class citizen that leads a civil war between the rich and the working class that eventually leads to the downfall of rapture/columbia.[/sp]
that's my take anyways
I get why they call it[sp]Bioshock Infinite now. I thought it was just a cool title, but no.[/sp]
[SP]Lady Comstock[/SP]battle in 1999 mode.

[sp]It's really neat how almost everything in this game foreshadows the premise and the ending. From things characters say, to the Lutece twins and all the other little tid bits planted along the game. When you replay it, it becomes really shockingly obvious.[/sp]

For some fucking reason I can't kill them, i'm just there shooting at it for several minutes.
It's worse than the handyman.

[sp]Still two more where that came from[/sp]
May god have mercy on your keyboard.
TBH
This game officially makes Bioshock the new Half-Life in terms of the bar it sets for FPS games and how its basically a cornerstone of the medium.
Half-life was that game duo last gen and bioshock is that game duo this gen
Okay so who's gonna make Bioshock's version of garry's mod and facepunch [sp]lol multiverse[/sp]
[sp]actually if you think about it half life is bioshock, but just from a different universe, but in our universe someone brought both into the same timeline
fucking hell i'm up way to late don't listen to me lol[/sp]
This game was a breath of fresh air.

You're tens of thousands of feet in the sky, of course it be a breath of fresh air :v
Okay so I finally booted up the game and updated my drivers. Despite not upgrading my PC in forever, this thing runs about 50 FPS on Ultra, a nice surprise.
Anyway, I just got to the part where you get to [sp]pick #77 at the raffle and have to fight people (this is so early on idk if I even need spoiler tags but better safe than sorry[/sp] and it's 4Am so it's bedtime but...
Wow. This is fantastic. The atmosphere, the setup, the gameplay. I'm like 30 minutes in and this is already taking my breath away.
[sp]Booker actually notices this. it's hard to hear, but if you have subtitles on at the end he actually says something along the lines of "Why are we here? Wait.. you're not.. who are you?" to Elizabeth when she's confronting him at his baptism.[/sp]
[sp]Srsly, I'm really lost now. It's really not Elizabeth from game's timeline. What happened to OUR Elizabeth when we've crossed the door?[/sp]
You're tens of thousands of feet in the sky, of course it be a breath of fresh air :v
Actually its kind of funny if you think about it
Most people living in columbia would probably be gasping for oxygen every time they do something as simple as walk up a small slope with how high they are in the sky
Alright, here's a quesiton:
[sp]Remember moment in game where we open a tear to Columbia with Vox Uprising? When we get there we discover that Booker died for Vox cause and he experience slight nosebleed (due to remembering being dead or something like that), and yet we know nothing of this's Columbia Elizabeth! What happened to her before/when/after Booker died there? She is obviously alive cause Elizabeth did not experience any memory shlock. If she remained in columbia how could we never run in her, or if she escaped why Comstock ain't suprised at her return or Booker being alive all sudden? [/sp]
Kinda bothers me.

[sp]Speculation: the moment you did that, she disappears and/or becomes anna again [as alluded to in the post-credits scene], because at that moment that is all you needed to do to garuntee the loop being closed.[/sp]
I just had the most random theory involving Booker, pointless but a possibility..
[sp]So, the first dream sequence involves Booker opening the door to see Columbia attacking New York from the bad future that future!Elizabeth shows him near the end of the game. He talks about this dream to Elizabeth too, who definitely seems troubled by it and sees it herself I think. Not sure on that.
What if Booker was gaining the very basics of the same timeline/tear-seeing capabilities that Elizabeth gained over the years, by existing in a dimension as an alternate self paradoxically compared to Elizabeth merely existing as a paradox in a world where she was never born in the first place?
This would require the Lutece explanation for the universe not liking its 'peas mixed with its porridge' referring to Elizabeth existing in one world as a person from another rather than referring to her pinky being left behind and thus existing across two worlds at once. But other than Booker somehow gaining memories from another alt-self or the Luteces implanting that one manually, it's the only explanation for him seeing that dream.[/sp]
