I admit, I wish I could still have a console next to my computer to play, but I'll wait a while before trying any of that
After seeing [sp]New York under attack in 1984[/sp] I really want [sp]a 1980s Bioshock[/sp]

Well, lo and behold, I have TWO console next to my PC.
Anyway, I wonder what a possibly setting for another Bioshock would be. A cavern system doesn't seem like the greatest idea IMO, unless the locals planned on living with a diet of fungi. A sci-fi space/moon environment doesn't fit the aesthetic very well. 1980s gets a touch bit too close to the modern era.
Say, what about 1970s in trans-dimensional space. Eh, I don't know even how that would work. Rapture and Columbia did have some form of logic to them at least.
underground caverns won't work? dude lava is kicking rad

Considering the whole "Half Life Carbon Armor Horses" thing I could see Hollywood fucking up that bad.

Anyway, decided to whip out the PSmove again, and I must say Infinite plays surprisingly well with it compared to some games (some of which are exclusives) where Move support was tacked on because Sony/their publishers wanted them to put it in.
Definitely switching out for the XIM once an ST profile comes out for Infinite, unless it's marked Unsupported like the ST for the first game is, in which case I'd ironically be better off using analog sticks.

I kinda wish the guy would quit talking between them :|
But it makes sense, I mean you'll be playing Xbox on speakers typically.
Whereas on PC you'll be using headphones.
I've never regretted being a PC gamer.
i can't remember who was suggesting it earlier, but i liked the idea of a big fucking underground bunker city, steeped with cold war paranoia
Huh, I think I'd like to, at some point (not necessarily the next game) Rapture partially surfaced, and Columbia docked with it. A blend of the two, parts of rapture suspended mid-air by the giant machines, parts submerged. Crashed areas of Columbia within the depths of Rapture, long since sealed in and purged of overwhelming water and pressure.
I'm unsure how well it'd play out as the setting for an entire game, but I'd definitely like to see more of Elizabeth, possibly/hopefully Booker. Not as some retarded antihero, either. There's a lot of potential she holds (and is a great character.)

A giant city built in to a mountain. Oh yes.
The ending really reminds me of [sp]Looper's ending in how young joe kills himself to stop old joe from doing all the bad shit.[/sp]
But I play on consoles using headphones all the time. Typically only touch my PS3 though, and with Blu-Ray's storage capacity, well...
Anyway, I just realized. Is it just me, or is the whole "BIO" part in "BIOSHOCK INFINITE" a bit of a redundancy? The first Bioshock as I've gathered so far seems to be dealing with consequences of BIOlogical modification in humans, but there's pretty much none of that in Infinite.
Wouldn't a better title have been something like Skyshock, or Tearshock?
The Walking Dead Season 2 is coming out as well, but is likely not going to top the first season. And yeah GTA games tend to be top-notch.
But damn I really like Bioshock Infinite, it really was something. My personal surprise of the year since I bought it because of the hype, never played Bioshock 1 or 2.
Go play Bioshock 1 right now.
You can really skip 2 tbh, dont think Irrational Games even considers canon since it wasnt even them who made it.
Also, what the shit, Bioshock 1 only uses Unreal Engine 2? I must say, it looks quite impressive for using an engine that was already long-obsolete when it released.

The quality of the art style means the game will always look good.

Upgraded engine.
But keep in mind, an engine does not define graphics. You can do a LOT of stuff when you improve older stuff. I mean, every single fork of source is a fork in the quake engine in and of itself. You cant really say that a game will play and look good or bad just based on the engine. There's a lot of stuff that can be done. Hell, whole genres have been spawned by blizzard worldbuilder and that's just a map creator in an RTS engine.
i wanna know, how does everyone feel about the "saved" respawning system?
at first it's just you exiting your office but when you meet up with liz it seems like she drags your half corpse to safety and shoots you full of life juice.
i think it's a really awesome and organic mechanic. i have to say "well done" to a series that otherwise had a pretty terrible continue system.
also it seems like it's impossible to jump off columbia and die. whenever you jump off into an abyss you shortly spawn where you were when you jumped like 3 seconds into falling.

handymen? fireman? vigors?
handymen? fireman? vigors?
Well, it's there, but it never really talked about it at all, whereas the first game is constantly talking about it (So far, at least. This is my first playthrough of the first). If anything, what I gathered was more towards mechanical modification of Humans (Especially with the Handymen).
I mentioned this earlier, but here's a comparison between the two postprocessing modes.

Alternate
[t]http://img689.imageshack.us/img689/5818/screenshot10148.jpg[/t]
I like how the Alternate one tightens up the bloom and adds a soft DOF, though the difference in quality is mostly down to preference.
The quality of the art style means the game will always look good.
games like TF2 run on most computers EASY but still look AMAZING
when it all comes down to it, this is because... art style dominates.
Wait has anyone given speculation to [sp]Where songbird comes from. I think Fink discovers his design through a tear, correct? What kind of universe did he see him, some crazy awesome steampunk world?[/sp]
Yeah, to be honest, Original just looks obnoxious. I can't even read that neon sign at all.
Alternate gives you the gist of it without obfuscating everything behind bloom and filters.
The one thing I dislike about Infinite? No manual saves. That was a feature of the other two games, right? Why get rid of it?

I think pretty much everyone has said [sp]a tear into the Rapture world let him see Big Daddies[/sp]
Wow, I just realized that they even referenced the ending somewhat in a trailer - 0:30.

Just beat the game and I can honestly say I was left speechless, everything about the ending was amazing to me and left me feeling completely overwhelmed (in a good way). I doubt everyone like the end but I fucking loved it.

I think a slight insult to injury is that when Levine first talked about 1999 mode he basically implied manual saves would be in the game.

[sp]Part of me wishes the ending was happier, but that's because I'm a sap and I just want to see Elizabeth make it to Paris. That's not really a complaint though, because the ending as-is is amazing.[/sp]

[sp]Songbird was inspired by the Big Daddy, he looked into the Rapture universe.[/sp]
