What I'm trying to say is that it is more effective to take out enemies at longer range, since you loose less health and generally kill everything as fast as melee. If you were to run in and start meleeing, you would suffer a lot more at no advantage, since you risk being surrounded. Guns don't really need good mods to be effective, nor do melee weapons.
You enter a room with 7 grineer waiting behind cover, ship will explode in 20 seconds, extraction is a few rooms away, what do you do?

On defense with Mag, energy is the most important thing, as her ulti is the only thing that will stop a hoard of infested from tearing that cryo-tank to shreds. At full energy and you're about to unleash the Crush in the middle of a crowd, 10 meters away out of your field of vision a single disruptor does his bullshit stretchy-arm-of-fuck and completely drains your shield, energy and stuns you.

Warframe forum posts are progressively getting worse and worse in quality until this update hits and people can have something new to talk about.

It will pick up by Update 8, which has been unofficially dubbed as the 'Clan' update. The creative director has a lot of interest on focusing on clans after Update 7 is out.

Ok, first minutes in the new update:
Starting off, I'd like to say that your multishot fire shotgun is now just a regular shotgun and your frame has their default amount of health and shields. This leads to, as the corpus bosses say, "Tenno death imminent". Now, you need to install your abilities again once you start off, otherwise, you'll run around with no abilities. Did you sell all your mods before this update? I can't blame you, but I'll be the one laughing as I now have super-abilities.
Anyway, as I said, your mods are now your abilities. There are some abilities which can be used by all frames, at least according to the translated Russian files, but I haven't seen them yet because I've only played two rounds before my menus bugged out and I had to quite the game. I've found one new mod called "ammo drum" which is basically just +5% ammo for rifles. Mods can be upgraded using fusion cores, which are those useless things laying around your inventory, looking exactly like all those old mods you didn't sell. You can fuse them in a mod by selecting the mod, hitting the "fusion" button and selecting all those previous loot radars.
I played a game on Europa, which I'm quite sure is one of either Jupiter or Saturn's moons. It was a regular capture mission where you find a corpus guy and suck him into your hand, the hand sucking now has a new 3D prompt, which replaces that text at the bottom of your screen which obstructs your only way of knowing if that orange thing which fell out of a closet was rubedo or not. The game was a clusterfuck of moas and corpus guys (with new fancy guns) who killed most of my team over and over again as I simply ran past everyone. I couldn't use any of my abilities because I did not know I had to activate them. The mission was on a generic ship, so the ending room was the usual fat penis-shape you would expect it to be so naturally I ran in and got on top of the wall separating the extraction things. I then found myself standing, so I thought "I wonder what happens if I jump out into space" and so I did. I had to wait for the rest of my team to arrive and wait for the mission to automatically end as I fell through the skybox. The "ammo drum" appeared as a reward at the end of the mission as any other mod would.
The second mission was a bit more interesting. The new entry animation looks amazing and the levels are large, open and full of angry moas. The mission was a sabotage mission on Neptune I had to do in order to get to the second new planet/moon. The environment eventually lead me through several buildings, which looked a lot like the generic ships with some new tiles and something else to see out the windows. After a while, I got in a room to find my first problem with the new tiles:

I could not open that closet. Anyway, I progressed through it, a few people joined and got horribly murdered just like poor PraPondeus. I got to the end, leaving behind the rest of the team to fight all those massive waves of moas I had ran past while sometimes casting chaos in order to make it somewhat easier for them. Then I waited a full minute on a platform without having to fight off anything because the new tiles are apparently so open and big that I was actually outside the moas detection range.
The new weapons and sentinels look cool. The bow, light pistol and swords all required generic materials which I had a million of, while the wyrm sentinel blueprint I bought (costing 100,000 credits each!) required about 100 alloys and a control module. Good thing I have two of those stuck to my volts head, at least that's what that storm helmet looks like. :v: The weapons and sentinel are still cooking, so I can't use them yet, but apparently there is a special slot in the sentinel menu called "weapon". I guess pets can use guns now...
Excuse any lack of sense in this post, it was written quickly so I can continue playing and get stomped by more moas. I am also a bit tired, so that may also explain why I may sound like a moron. Anyway, I'd currently say the update is great so far and I haven't experienced any major issues other than jumping out of the skybox.
Yeah Sentinels can apparently have guns, as both Shade and the other one comes prepacked with a Laser gun.
Also first mod I found was a Rifle-Multishot
