• Why is beta always better than original?
Imagine 21 days of constant war. The thing is, you're not prepared for it, you're outnumbered and all enemies use melee. Your clothes would be dirty within the first day.
The first infection. As far as I know, it's not INSTANT WAR and infection after the first outbreak. It's an infection so let's say we give it 15 days before it's actual "war". You still have 6 days to change clothes (You will in the first days because it's an INFECTION so you need to be clean and not a carrier).
I'm pretty sure they removed the realistic loading animations from L4D1 to dumb down the game for newer players. In the beta you could not just shove and reload at the same time. You still had to use the cocking mechanism which made you rely on your teammates even more. Newer players would just use up all the magazine and get raped since nobody would have any ammo. :v: It also had realistically dark environments which made it really hard to spot zombies. Newer players would have thrown the game away due to the difficulty. Remember, the game is still a bitch to newer players. Just imagine what it would be like if it had the beta's difficulty where only 1/4 survivor teams survived a campaign on Normal mode and that doesn't mean all players survived... The game went from a hardcore tactical co-op zombie survival shooter to a co-op zombie shooter.

Valve is bullshitting everyone when they say the Hydra wouldn't be fun to fight. Think about it, why not have the player fight it like they did with the tentacle monsters in Half-Life 1? Have to avoid it while activating switches in order to activate a trap that kills it instantly.

Then Valve should just give those people the finger and move on.

Are you? Then, just add "In the future" to the beginning of that sentence.
The L4D beta had some cool weapon animations. They should have kept them for the full game.
Some of these are still in the game, actually. I recall that if you hold right click after you throw a grenade, then pull out a rifle, it would do an animation more commonly seen in the beta.
Yeah, the BC2 beta was awesome. No lags

I guess I was wrong. :v:

I guess I was wrong. :v:
Well, you'd be right, if you said something that wasn't what you said, many guns don't need to be cocked, even when you're effectively out of bullets there'll be one either chamered, the act of firing cocks it, I'm not an expert though.
If the release edition were the beta, and the beta was the one that was released, you'd still be saying the beta was better.
I know what you mean, for example I preferred the call of duty 4 beta to final game, but that is my opinion- personally I had nothing against the final cut, I just liked the other one a little more.
What was different in that?
I liked the lightwrap in the beta of TF2 some of the skins looked nice too ,but everything else is fine if not better.
just so that some gun nerd can get his jollies via "realistic reloading animations".
Come on man, don't go there. I just thought they would be an interesting addition to gameplay.
Day of Defeat beta was leaps and bounds better than retail and Source.
Half-Life 2 had a pretty interesting story at first. If I remember correctly, you would visit some kind of sky base and that's where you would also meet Eli or something.
I liked the lightwrap in the beta of TF2 some of the skins looked nice too ,but everything else is fine if not better.
Yeah, I liked it when they actually had that nice cartoony feel to it, now its hats galore and no lightwrap which really kinda ruined it in my opinion.
Beta looks like a different game, which is usually why you like it.
Most alarms you find in the real world are loud and annoying.
I think that's to make you pay attention. :v: [editline]10:21PM[/editline] Beta Bill looks pretty badass.
