He means in the gameplay shown after the trailer. It was definitely Big Boss talking and it definitely wasn't David Hayter.
Wonder what's with the metal poking out of Big Boss' head at the end, guess he's an oni now.
Could the decision to name the fake developers Moby Dick Studios be related to the gigantic whale we see in the trailer?

That's what it probably is. They did similar for Hitman Absolution. It would make sense to finish the script before paying Hayter to do the lines.

He's just so SNAKE.
He's friends with one of my dads friends, I've met him before, he's actually a seriously cool guy. I hope to god it's a placeholder.
It could be a trick or a joke. Just relax people, even if he isn't in it the game will be awesome.
Welp, Ocelot actually looks just how I imagined he would look like after all these years, I hope he gets quite a lot of screen time.
It seems the lightning makes him look gray, similarly like BB seemed to be graying once the first teaser came out.
Snake is nothing without Hayter.
I have a hard time seeing myself giving the slightest shit about playing as Big Boss if it's just some random cunt no one's ever heard of doing the voice of the most iconic video game character of all time.

and with richard doyle voicing big boss at the end of MGS4 well there's gotta be a transition to that, right

They'll probably finish the script first and then get him to voice BB. If not then they'll have Doyle. If you're not going to buy a game because it doesn't have a voice actor then you play games for the wrong reasons.

if Kris Zimmerman is still directing the voice work (which she has for the past...well actually every MG game since MGS1) then Hayter is going to come back.

Why not say that happened after he was torn to pieces and put into a coma by the patriots until their AI fell? It made sense when he was this dying father figure in the dramatic ending, but now we have to go through a whole game playing as someone who might as well not even be Big Boss.
Solid Snake didn't lose his entire accent to accelerated aging. It just got raspier.

Yeah, a transition towards his MGS4 voice after the 9 year coma is a smart move imo.

But it seems they already got Robin Atkin Downes for miller, so the casting might already be done.

From what I've pieced together it looks like Chico had a tracking device planted in him so when Snake rescues him from cipher it leads back to mother base. Then once Mother Base has been destroyed he get's helicopter shot down

I'm actually so ruffled about Hayter not being Snake like he's a crazy friendly cool guy and I don't like the idea that he's losing Snake man
and Snake is such a recognizable voice I'd argue Snake's voice is one of the most recognizable voices in vidya
