No im saying, the other games looked fairly consistent graphically, the fox engine is quite a leap.
Besides, Ocelot is younger than his old appearances and older than his young appearance.
I wouldn't say they're fairly consistent graphically, bar MGS2 + 3. I considered your other point but it would mean his face went from thin to average to thin. It's possible, but it's not like live action where they have to search for suitable actors. KojiPro have so much control with the Fox Engine, I'd find it a little odd if they weren't faithful to his previous looks. Whatever the result, I hope we see Ocelot in MGSV.
If you see a name called "Sean Barker" anywhere, chances are it is David Hayter.
Just putting it out there. I don't have much of a problem with David Hayter not doing Snake.

I meant, they all look consistent in style.
No. I literally don't see myself connecting with Big Boss at all now. I'll probably have as much of an emotional connection to him as I would a character in Medal of Honor: Warfighter.
Solid Snake went through accelerated aging to the point where his hair turned gray and he needed a muscle suit to do much of anything, and he kept his voice. Big Boss goes into a coma for 9 years but comes out of it still mostly young (48) and able and his voice has changed to an utterly different tone that would probably be completely impossible to naturally shift to in real life? How does that make sense?
Sure his voice is different in MGS4, but this is 30 years later after he was nearly incinerated alive, most of his body destroyed, then put in a cryogenic coma for 20 years before waking up at the ripe old age of 79.
How are they going to explain his voice being so different so shortly after peace walker during the ground zeroes prologue?
Well when MGSV comes out, we'll all be enjoying it and you'll be sitting in your corner, crying about how Boss isn't Hayter.

This is IF he isnt played by hayter.
Which is a very very small possibility.
Well there's all this shit to him that signifies ocelot. The attire and everything.
But nooooo, that jaw line. It's someone else, can't be ocelot.
I'm not saying it isn't him, I just have my doubts.

We might have Hayter during GZ and then he goes into a coma and comes out with the voice of Richard Doyle. Solid Snake was speaking regularly while he aged, but Big Boss was comatose for 9 years. If you don't speak for that long your voice is bound to be different. Anyway, we still don't definitely know if Hayter's gone for good so let's keep our hopes up.

I dont think thats how that works.
I'd be okay if Richard Doyle plays Boss. There's gotta be that transition somewhere. He can't stay Hayter forever. MGS4 kinda made it that way.
But I do hope Hideo Kojima returns as the voice of god once again.
So, uh, who's gonna be making the next thread?

I think as long as Snake has brown hair, he should be voiced by Hayter, when it goes grey, get a guy who sounds like an inbetweener, when its fully white, go Doyle.
I dont think thats how that works.
I think it's plausible, especially in a series this wacky.
Also, I realised: Big Boss was comatose when they took his gene samples for Les Enfants Terribles in 1972, and as MGSV is set afterwards this is his second coma. Interesting!

I can if anyones got an idea for a title.

That sounds perfect, but for now, we need to just wait and see.

V has come to?
Also, why in gods name would they keep Akio Otsuka for this game but boot his perfectly fine and able english VA who's done good work for 15 years?
Doesnt add up.
V has come to?
Got it.
V has come to?
That's better than my idea of "Richard Doyle could be alright guys".
Great, he just killed an icon and now i'm going to go through the entire game giving a big hefty sigh every time X generic voice actor says anything.
what about when they "changed" big boss' voice for MGS4? why weren't you complaining about that?
contrary to popular belief, voices change as you grow older

Voices dont change in under a month.
Because thats when the first part of MGS5 takes place compared to MGS PW, and he was voiced by Hayter in that.
And i doubt your voice would change that much over 9 years of non-use.
I'm getting the itch to play PW again. Have some side ops I need to take care of. Might as well work on MG 1 and 2 too.
Kojima in his mask.

Eye holes are creepy.
he made that after the fact based on the person in the interview
he still fuckng with us
[editline]28th March 2013[/editline]
also, as amazing as this looks, david really is the most iconic thing about snake, to me and a lot of people. i'm seriously unhappy if he really isn't going to be in it. it's like watching a batman cartoon without kevin conroy (it sucks)
[editline]28th March 2013[/editline]
but considering his japanese VO is the same i'm gonna say david will be the final voice
Well remember what happened with Hitman: Absolution? No Bateson for ages and he also said they never contacted him then out of nowhere they brought him back.
Same with Quinton Flynn on MGR.
I wonder if the fact he's been in a coma for nine years has to do with his VA change. Just a hunch of mine, but the fact he's become a twig, hasn't been able to smoke for nine years and that he's been taken care of for that amount of time would have an effect on his raspy voice. But I guess we'll have to wait for the interview to find out.
i dont think you can reverse the effects of smoking on your voice box just by not snoking
you don't even hear big boss speak in the trailer
it's def possible they're just screwing with us
i dont think you can reverse the effects of smoking on your voice box just by not snoking
You can as long as you don't have COPD, my dad quit smoking for two years and went from a gravelly voice to a softer tone

We hear him talk in the gameplay demo.
just remember the huge long con they set up to try and say phantom pain wasn't MGS. look what happened there.
