That doesn't mean that it's actually Liquid's arm.
Well, it might be Liquids arm, the point is it's not possessing him.
correct me if im wrong but isn't there an actual ghost in mgs3
you can chalk up the battle with the sorrow to just be drowning hallucinations, but what about every other time you see him hanging around boss
I never got why in MGS2 when the arm "took over" somehow ocelot's vocal cords changed to liquid's.

I think that was just a game thing.

regular hallucinations?
Not to say they are, but they could be.
There is a dude that controls Hornets. A dude who sends flaming skulls at you, the Boss's scar comes off, A DUDE MADE OF MOSS. A man who controls electricity, a man who can control the ghosts of people you even indirectly killed.
No they're not hallucinations. They just fucked up MGS4 by attempting to explain any of it.

The flaming skull was an artistic representation of The Fury's lifeless corpse flipping the fuck out and exploding.
Pretty sure The Sorrow is a legit ghost. It doesn't give you a prompt but if you hold down R1 after you defeat The Boss, you can see The Sorrow and The Boss together from the horse's POV

I have an intense urge to play through MGS2 again even though I hated having to run back to the storehouse every damn time I found out I needed a new weapon
Also, the ghost of Psycho mantis returns in MGS4, who is then exorcised by the Sorrow.
Why the fuck did they screw over the supernatural stuff only for that to happen at the end?
In MGS2 Ocelot had Liquid's arm. Whenever snake was around Liquid would take over Ocelot. Ocelot wanted to fool the patroits and saw that Liquid taking over was great at that but he couldn't control it and it was too unpredictable. Between MGS2 and MGS4 he replaces Liquid's arm with a robotic one and goes through therapy to believe he is liquid. He was never being controlled by Liquid in MGS4

If you radio the techie guy when wearing sorrow's camo snake tells him he got it from a ghost and he's like woah spooky

[sp]nanomachines[/sp]
edit: everything before mgs 4 was never explained and it was literally just magic but everything was retconned into nanomachines in mgs 4

The only thing that was explained with Nanomachines was how Vamp was still alive and how the Patriots control everyone.
The first rule of Gear Club is we don't talk about ghosts
I think the funniest thing in MGS3 is the fucked up shit nightmare. Shit tanks.

Nuclear Turd Missiles.
Poor old man John.

I did love liquids voice/character so I can live with that
Jesus Christ, I just got to the fight with the RAYs in MGS2.
How the hell am I supposed to take down SEVEN Metal Gears?

use ninja run to block their bullets then when they swing their sword at you hit parry and
oh wait, too early for that.

if you are fast enough you can get a ton of free damage while they are powering up in the beginning if you shoot them in the knee and in the mouth
but dont worry it took me ages to do it youll figure it out eventually and it feels good once you do
Just finished MGS 2 for the first ever time in 11 hours 42 minutes on normal. Now onto MGS 3 for the first ever time!
Also despite the 5 or so metal gear RAYs I didn't take any damage, feel quite proud of that.
Edit: Is there a reason why Portable Ops wasn't released with the HD pack? Doesnt it contain important/interesting/helpful plot stuff? I dont actually know seeing as I've never played it.
because portable ops is poop
To be honest, Portable Ops and Peace Walker don't really add anything to the Metal Gear universe, they're just filler to flesh out Big Boss' character.

Dunno about Portable Ops, but I think Peace Walker did some cool stuff. It showed off how [sp]Big Boss attains a following of mercs and later gets to Outer Heaven, though that will be continued in GZ[/sp]. Gameplay wise it does a nice change to the formula, base management, development, all sortsa things.
How did PW ruin Big Boss?
I just don't like Peace Walker because I think the action/stealth parts of it are absolute ass.
The base managing and such is fine, but when you actually get into the field it just sucks absolute balls.
Then again I played the PSP version, i'd imagine the other versions control better.
Kojima probably originally meant for it to be real, but he later decided that it was fucking dumb and changed that in MGS4.
It's pretty fucking dumb either way. But honestly, I think it would be better if he had just stuck with the whole possession thing. That way, you actually get to feel like you're fighting Liquid.
As it stands, you're not really battling Liquid, and you're not really battling Ocelot.
I think it nicely brought liquids [sp]memes[/sp] to the fight and memes are a large party of every MGS game.
A DUDE MADE OF MOSS
for some reason that made me laugh. you're talking about The End right? he's just wearing a ghillie suit.

No, hes capable of photosynthesis, which is why hes lived so long.
