People who have the "full Client" as you guys keep saying WON'T KNOW IF IT IS OPTIMIZED BETTER. It isn't like EA went and burned all of their disks after the beta was over, and then shipped them out to retailers. There is going to be a patch of some sort on release day.

If they can have a map pack ready by day one, why not have the some kind of optimization patch too?

Who says the optimization patch isn't ready for day one? It's not day one yet, that's the point.

I think the patch isn't included to prevent piracy. I mean, getting the game before it's out.

they will probably build optimization throughout the patches, not just "one" optimization patch. I think they got really good feedback on the beta/demo and it might take some time to gather information & code. real answer: no one knows there's no point in guessing.

Yes, but there will be at least some form of optimization patch on release, as seen within the beta and the few "tweaks" they talked about besides the original optimization tweaks. Sure throughout it's lifespan and hardware testing better and more optimization will probably be made, one can only hope.

I ran the beta ok, about 25+ fps on medium settings and I plan on upgrading my cpu and gpu eventually but until then I want to be able to play it and have terrible fps when crazy stuff is going on.

I would really like to buy this game, the beta impressed me greatly. I'm low on money though, so I will propably end up not getting it. :frown:

You said that it was lame that the patch isn't included in the game. They don't print thousands of copies of the game in a span of 4 or so days and then ship them out to all of the retailers. Then you said that you think that if they can have a map pack ready by day one "why not have some kind of optimization patch too?" Which tells us that you somehow think that the day one map pack was conceived at the same time as them finding out that the game needs to be optimized.
