:psyduck:
It's not hard to be more powerful than stuff that is half a decade old. You could build a PC at the same power as a 360 for like £300... if that.
Jesus, I thought they were just going to 720p-ify the Wii... but making it more powerful than the 360 and PS3, that's awesome.
Until the Wii gets more then two or three good games I refuse to buy the console.
You're ignorant and I want you to know it. [editline]14th April 2011[/editline] WiiHD is actually Virtual Boy 2 [editline]14th April 2011[/editline] Holy shit I just realized the 3DS is like Virtual Boy 2
We're not going to get any where else with controls if people keep doing this.
I see the advantages of motion-based controls, but right now it's in its infancy. Why should i waste money on it
I hope that's seriously not the title. An extra 2 second stress on the last vowel of a word should not refer to a new product. :colbert:
This would be nice, considering the fact that my Nintendo stocks have been essentially punched in the kidneys :v:
The new Wii will also get an NMH sequel.
oh cool a reason to buy one
There are a ton of games on the wii right now that would be better if it weren't for the god damn motion controls.
You shouldn't really be calling this Wii 2, it sounds like an entirely new console that doesn't rely on "gimmicks" and hopefully that means it doesn't even use motion controls [editline]14th April 2011[/editline]
There are a ton of games on the wii right now that would be better if it weren't for the god damn motion controls.
Brawl is a perfect example of this. Tried out the Wii controls for a second and instantly went back to using a GC controller.
You shouldn't really be calling this Wii 2, it sounds like an entirely new console that doesn't rely on "gimmicks" and hopefully that means it doesn't even use motion controls
The only reason we are calling it the Wii 2 is lack of better name. Nintendo makes up different names for every console they make, so it isn't as easy as adding 360 to the end.
Cod3 was a fucking disaster on wii I guess wii sports and mario galaxy were decent but I ended up selling my wii to join the pc master race
Cod3 was a fucking disaster on wii I guess wii sports and mario galaxy were decent but I ended up selling my wii to join the pc master race
That game was far more than decent. GOTY for me.
can't wait for WiiIII
Say hello to the PNES
I don't really know to be honest, it's going to be out next year if anything, probably going to be delayed. All I use my Wii for is virtual console and some normal platformers like New Super Mario Bros. Wii. Also I had to get Monster Hunter Tri, pretty amazing game. But besides that, all I use it is to play the classics, mostly Ocarina of Time. If the second version of the Wii gets a new Zelda game, hell yeah I'll get it. Probably my favorite series on any console. Always been a major fan of the Zelda series.
I rather enjoy my Wii. Play a shit ton of monster hunter on it. Looking forward to Wiiii.
Weren't the SNES, N64 an Gcube all pretty damn powerful for their times?
Not really. The SNES and and Genesis were pretty much equal but then Sega started releasing addons like the Sega CD and 32X which blew the SNES out of the water in terms of graphical ability, but the games sucked and the peripherals were too expensive so nobody bought them. The N64 was was less powerful then the PSX, the only real thing it had over the PSX was better load times because it still used cartridges. The GameCube was about as powerful as the Xbox and way better than the PS2, I think it only slightly edged out the Xbox but don't quote me on that.
The GameCube was about as powerful as the Xbox and way better than the PS2, I think it only slightly edged out the Xbox but don't quote me on that.
No, the Xbox was by far the most powerful console of that generation. Gamecube might have been more powerful than the Ps2, though.

WarioWare Smooth Moves is the best game on the Wii and is really the only game that makes any true good come out of the motion control
Yeah GameCube wasn't really that powerful.
WarioWare Smooth Moves is the best game on the Wii and is really the only game that makes any true good come out of the motion control
I agree, it made motion control actually fun.
The leak wasn't mentioned here because it's not worth mentioning here.
The leak wasn't mentioned here because it's not worth mentioning here.
Nintendo making a new console isn't worth mentioning? If that isn't then what is?
Hopefully the name isn't completely retarded this time around. [editline]14th April 2011[/editline]
Yeah GameCube wasn't really that powerful.
You're right, the GameCube shone because of the games themselves. Battallion wars, Mario Sunshine, Mario Kart Double Dash, LUIGI'S MANSION, Geist, SMASH BROS MELEE, VIEWTIFUL JOE, METROID PRIME, F-Zero GX.... Do I need to go on? [editline]14th April 2011[/editline] I honestly never liked the Wii. Fuck motion, fuck 3D, fuck photorealism-- I miss FUN games :frown:

Fun games are all around you. Don't confuse nostalgic value with actual game value. I look forward to the revival of Nintendo in age circles higher than 12. But if they don't get with the program soon, when is it going to happen? Its like they're resisting change on purpose, change that could only serve to benefit.
Hopefully the name isn't completely retarded this time around.
They called it the Wii because it was easy for everyone to pronounce...and some other symbolic reason, I think.
I simply don't like Nintendo's third party support :colbert:
