If it's going to use motion controls again, they have to surpass Kinect which isn't easy, but maybe they can do it.
If it's going to use motion controls again, they have to surpass Kinect which isn't easy, but maybe they can do it.
The Kinect is a steaming turd so that won't be hard.
I simply don't like Nintendo's third party support :colbert:
First party makes up for it. But there are actually a bunch of good third party games for the Wii if you look hard enough.
I doubt that. [editline]pnes[/editline] Where did you even get that information
I do believe I said don't quote me on that which meant that I wasn't sure.
:psyduck:
Wow, it's like a computer from 2006. Amazing. [editline]15th April 2011[/editline]
The Kinect is a steaming turd so that won't be hard.
Amazing technology, horrible games.
WII?
The N64 was was less powerful then the PSX, the only real thing it had over the PSX was better load times because it still used cartridges.
Actually, the N64 had a faster processor than the Playstation, had more ram, but the N64's ram had a very high latency, making the system slower overall. Plus, the Playstation was easier to code for, as the dev tools were way better. Plus the PS1 was cheaper (both in games and in consoles themselves.) Swings and roundabouts. (And we can all agree, they both blew the Sega Saturn out of the water.)
E3 history : - 1995 : PS1 - 1996 : N64 - 2000 : PS2 - 2001 : Xbox,Gamecube - 2005 : PS3 - 2006 : 360, Wii Not to mention DS and PSP, there's a new generation of consoles every 4-5 years, this E3, it'll be 5 years without any new console... We can always hope!
First party makes up for it. But there are actually a bunch of good third party games for the Wii if you look hard enough.
First party doesn't make it up for me, the only game to evolve any was Metroid. The other games were basically repeats.
Wow, it's like a computer from 2006. Amazing. [editline]15th April 2011[/editline] Amazing technology, horrible games.
You know, before i tried kinect i would've agreed with you. But no. The tech is clunky and unreliable and requires way too much configuration and callibration. Also, it's not entirely accurate, which makes it useless for serious gaming.
As long as they shit out another Donkey Kong Country Returns for me, I'm happy
I only use the Wii for Netflix. When I'm in my living room. Which I rarely am.
I hope that's seriously not the title. An extra 2 second stress on the last vowel of a word should not refer to a new product. :colbert:
It looks more like "Wii 2" more than "weeeee so excited".
"Too little, too late" I've been burned WAY too many times with Nintendo hardware. It's been the same since the N64: A few STELLAR games and mounds of shovelware. I don't see this being any different. My kids love the Wii and their DS', as a grown adult, I could care less.
There's a popular French website who not usally says dumb stuff which says got precious information : - The new console is called = Project Café (codename like Revolution, Dolphin or Ultra 64) - They said the controler is really original, something surprising... - Apparently, the controler would be tablet like the iPad, since a rumor said Apple worked with some Nintendo employees... Well, nothing is sure, the only thing I know is that the website is really serious and they are sure that the new controler will be a tablet with a resolution less than 720p, something comparable to the VMU from the Dreamcast. Weird. :tinfoil: [editline]15th April 2011[/editline] Source : http://www.01net.com/editorial/531660/project-cafe-la-wii-2-de-nintendo-aura-une-tablette-pour-manette/
How can you have an HD screen on a controller? Like, isn't HD dictated by the amount of pixels? I guess you could but it'd be a incredibly small image. Like 1080i RDR reduced to a 3 inch monitor.
No, a resolution < 720p, it would be something SD.

And didn't the Dreamcast controllers have displays on them? [editline]15th April 2011[/editline] Oh wait you said that in your post.
Yeah the Apple rumor is really unbelievable, but it's a rumor, for the rest, they said it's sure. I don't think they could lie, they have a big reputation, they can't tell something like that... We will see!
Just fucking call it the GAMECUBE 2 [editline]15th April 2011[/editline] OH and "more powerful than the PS3 or Xbox 360" is incredibly easy to achieve. Just stick a Radeon 5770/Geforce 460 in there
the 3DS will be the controller. You heard it here first.
So, the Wii was really promising to me until I got it in release, brought it home, popped in Call of Duty 3, and couldn't stop spinning in circles to actually play the game.
Call of Duty 3 was pretty shit on the Wii. It got crazy once your batteries got low, it became Call of Motion Sickness 3: I Can't Stop Fucking Spinning
I don't know why, but when it was new, I bought Tony Hawk's Proving Ground for the Wii. It wasn't that bad, but the motion controls ruined it a bit. Still, one of my favorite Wii games is My Sims.
This more powerful that the 360/PS3 thing is getting irritating. If a new console came out and wasn't more powerful than them, especially at this stage, years after their release then something is dangerously wrong.
No, a resolution < 720p, it would be something SD.
Than it wouldn't be HD.
Yeah GameCube wasn't really that powerful.
It made up for it in excellent titles though.
[release] The controller itself is said to include a 6" single touch screen, d-pad, "L and R," two triggers, and "others." The functionality of the Wii's sensor bar has now been integrated into the controller, which would mean that you'd just use your controller as a sensor bar for Wiimote gameplay. It would a sport a front facing camera. Also, because it's Nintendo we're talking about here, the cost of this controller is said to be "modest" and we shouldn't expect iPad levels of power or performance here. They call it an "iPad with buttons" for lack of a better term. 01net's source also elaborated on the hardware specs of the console itself. [/release] Well fuck
Some people may like it, others may not. I personally think it is a nice, but unneeded touch that will be rarely looked at and not worth the cost of putting the screen in.

Maybe Nintendo HD is just an alias. Hopefully this time they won't beat around the bush and just call their console 'piss'
