Also, I just shit myself. Honestly. I was in my mine, and I could hear scratching. I knew there were creepers about. But all went quiet, and I started to get to work on my mine, just excavating it and making it nice and neat (getting rid of jagged rock and the like). I see a place I'd walled up earlier, and I figured I was ready to explore it. I start carving into it, and as soon as I open the last block, a fucking arrow flies out and I die (I had 2 1/2 hearts. Reason being I made a furnace out of black wool [which I thought wasn't flammable] and it set fire really badly. There were flames going all over the place [I think wool is slightly combustable. It was causing flames to go a few tiles out on the floor] and because I was in my inventory, I thought "what the fuck is going on?". I figured I was being attacked. I set alight and I started running around, thinking of whether to make a break for it outside and swim about in the ocean, or just die. Luckily, the flames guttered out when I had 2 1/2 hp). The sound the arrow made and my total lack of awareness made me jump out of my seat. Needless to say, I closed that window in 3 seconds flat and I won't be going back to minecraft till I muster up the courage to slay all those fucking demonspawn.
God damn, I've said it once, I'll say it again: Give them fucking warning sounds. Growls, moans, groans, anything. Not just the generic padding of feet which is hard to make out.

Minecraft Fever:
Minecraft Fever is similar to gold fever. They shares some similarities, such as not being a real ailment, and the symptoms are anxiety, paranoia, fear, and anger.
It usually occurs when a player is close to completing a very large and complicated structure. The player will [b]fear[/b] that someone will destroy it, develop a large amount of [b]paranoia[/b], have severe [b]anxiety[/b], and small bouts of rage.
The most common cure for this is simply building another structure. Eventually, all the concern over the old one will fade away. Who knows, maybe you could make a minecraft machinima, and have some corny moment where you put your hand against the glass and look at the old abandoned building, with sadness in your eyes.
Another way is to have a mock banning of sorts. A random player will be banned, and it will be said that they were about to destory your ctructure.
I have no idea why I am posting this.

In /indev/ just stand still for a while and you'll heal.
In Survival you have to eat mushrooms, which you can find in caves and whatnot.

Whenever Survival starts, I run my ass off to a huge mountain. I make a little fortress at the top.
It's funny because the skeletons are raging because they can't hit me with their arrows.

Speaking of which, my indev routine:
1. Exit spawnhouse and locate trees.
2. Kill some sheep/pigs on the way to said trees.
3. Farm wood for an entire day.
4. As the sun sets, use massive piles of wood to create epic home on top of the spawnhousse.
5. End day 1 satisfied and happy, watch the magical glowing sheep frolic around the evil and menacing spiders
6. Begin day 2 by destroying half the house after accidentally hitting a creeper while destroying spiders
7. Run back inside and remember sword that I didn't craft that would have been useful five minutes ago
8. Forget to build house back and get raped by aggro spiders, shit pants optional
9. Here I either die or kill the spiders, switch to peaceful and heal, go back, rebuild asploded spawnhouse and repeat from 1.
10. Eventually remember the game is called MINEcraft and start making a basement except forget to make torches and get raped by zombies upon entry to a hidden cave
11. Here I either die or kill the zombies, switch to peaceful and heal, go back, clean trousers, and repeat from 1.
My routine;
1. cut down three trees
2. build workbench, make stone pick and sword
3. find cave, mine many resources, make torches
4. night comes, enemies flood into cave
5. die from skeleton
I like playing around with water/lava and make it go around my spawnhouse

Ok, I don't really get this.
The only gamemodes are Creative and Survival. I'm not even sure you can craft anything, and even if you TRIED to cut down trees, you would be raped by zawmbees.
