I took out some blocks on the beach and the water isn't filling in, why is that?
I took out some blocks on the beach and the water isn't filling in, why is that?
That's a common bug. I'm pretty sure Notch is looking into fixing it.
So apparently I got 4 boxes for naming the Clan ORGASM. Haha, little kids are so funny.
I took out some blocks on the beach and the water isn't filling in, why is that?
Some sort of glitch with the water. Water is still experimental right now.
I took out some blocks on the beach and the water isn't filling in, why is that?
water won't flow on top of ocean water. Ocean water at any height, so if you remove a block of water over ocean water you need to place blocks under the area to make it fill up again EDIT: Under the ocean water next to the unfilled area actually
water won't flow on top of ocean water. Ocean water at any height, so if you remove a block of water over ocean water you need to place blocks under the area to make it fill up again
that's a bit of a conundrum, now, isn't it...
Made a floating castle on the islands theme but fell down and died. Oh well. And I don't really bother with saving. It's fun to just jump in and out and build random crap.
Your post is kind of confusing, are you saying I need to just place blocks at the bottom of the ocean?
Sorry about that, getting tired Will post some pictures to explain instead Place a block under a block of ocean water next to the unfilled area and it will get filled
wouldn't placing a block within the water simply remove that block of water? :/
my server is up http://www.minecraft.net/play.jsp?server=1afb6d6d8aa216630319f8f727835606
wouldn't placing a block within the water simply remove that block of water? :/
and when you remove said block it should refill if it is connected to the ocean, but if there is a block of ocean water underneath that block it won't fill as ocean water supposendly absorbs any water over it Place a block underneath any ocean water directly next to that unfilled area so that the ocean water is only 1 block deep and it will fill
Sorry about that, getting tired Will post some pictures to explain instead Place a block under a block of ocean water next to the unfilled area and it will get filled
Alright, I got it now. I managed to fill up about half of the empty space now, I'll keep messing around with it and hopefully the rest will fill in.
and when you remove said block it should refill if it is connected to the ocean, but if there is a block of ocean water underneath that block it won't fill as ocean water supposendly absorbs any water over it Place a block underneath any ocean water directly next to that unfilled area so that the ocean water is only 1 block deep and it will fill
THAT makes sense. [edit] damn, I still didn't understand :v:
Actually it would be
W _ W D W W
or
W _ W W W D
for some reason Edit: Now I got a better explenation :S Ocean water only spreads to the side if it is 1 block deep
Water is being a bitch to me, little pools at least. I am there setting a little place to farm in the pool and i fuck up a single block of water and the whole damn thing dries up.. It's sad since water is rare on floating
Survival will be awesome with multi-player.
I feel stupid now. Here is the perfect short explenation to ocean water spreading: Ocean water only spreads to the side if it is 1 block deep, otherwise it only spreads downwards Ocean water being water that was connected to the ocean when the map was created, any water generated after behaves correctly seems like that from testing atleast, sometimes newly generated water acts like regular ocean water and other times not when connected to the ocean
my server is up http://www.minecraft.net/play.jsp?server=1afb6d6d8aa216630319f8f727835606
Better than nothing, but I really don't have anything on your server and would rather see Saccn's or Venn's back.
I think water definitely needs to be at least only half a block like the stone "steps." It would make it so that you can't swim in a block of solid water in the middle of a dry grass field from draining a pond or something.
I built a tower that reaches up to the max map height. I didn't die once the whole save too. View from the floor second to the roof. The roof. A picture of the staircase which goes through the entire center of the tower and down into the mine.
Kinda silly how you built it somewhat far from your spawn. Most people abandon spawn. I say use it. Just encase it with stone blocks on the outside and you automatically have a decent sized spawn room without the crappy, ugly looking wood. But yeah, add an underground tunnel connecting to that tower and it'll rock.
The spawn isn't exactly a great vantage point or easily fortified. Also, I build my fortresses over my mine shafts, so there are tunnels that go everywhere around the map right under my tower.
It doesn't happen to me much, but I do it anyways. Fucking dark spots scare me. I hate being jumped on. Also, add pillboxes. Simply put, they're 3 steps on top of each other. Gives you a narrow slit to see out of which you can shoot out of and not really be hit back. Awesome defense.
They're fantastic for areas that are mostly flat. But for aiming up and down, especially at creatures right at your walls, not so much.

Well, I'm pretty sure I'm as done as I'll ever be in modifying Myne, so for anybody willing to deal with its problems, here you go. Download the zip that uses your OS's name, obviously. To use it, unzip anywhere, change 'username = true' in server.meta to be your username, so it would be something along the lines of 'andrewph = true'. Then, if you have the twisted library and simplejson installed correctly, double click run.py or run the command 'python run.py' from the directory you unzipped it in. If you need help with commands feel free to ask me.
instead of 3 steps, couldn't you do one regular block and one step? would save a whole block of material.

Also, with the pillboxes, yeah, I meant have them on the lower levels. They suck for height defenses, seeing as you can't actually aim down on enemies (which is what you said :p). [editline]01:18AM[/editline]
instead of 3 steps, couldn't you do one regular block and one step? would save a whole block of material.
3 steps looks more uniform. Adding that cracked stone makes it look weird. But to each his own.
Jeez, Indev looks way too awesome...
Agh, are there any other clients with flying besides the World of Minecraft client? It doesn't even connect to servers anymore for me... Kinda weird hosting a server but being the only person who can't fly around. :saddowns:
Pff flying is overrated, takes the fun away :\ .
Try updating your .jar file. Download it from minecraft.net.
