Streaming is pretty fun. I should do it more often when indev gets more exciting updates.
Well that was interesting.

Didn't like how often you'd freeze for a few seconds. Was quite annoying :(
Also, do you need any programs to stream?
Somehow my apache went and ate all the ram on my vps, which caused my server to die :downs:
I've been on Nick's server. I got my own world, started with a pre-built town, then started customizing it.

Hey, look, it's the city that Sniper and a bunch of people made
How do you make your screen so big? Or are they just resized?

World of Minecraft
Thanks.
What have you done to my McDonalds! It's crap now. D:
Update in notches blog, infinite levels. Holy fuck.
Wow, that's insane and awesome at the same time.
Hmmm, it would be worth it if he could pull it off. I would definitely say yes. However, I still wonder if teleporters linking one level to another level/server would be better. I don't like how farms and stuff just stop though, I hope that they can constantly change as a number and then be generated at that phase when you return.
However, farms not updating doesn't matter a lot, it isn't major. If Notch is confident he could pull this off, I will go for it all the way.
Only, he should add multiplayer /indev/ first. That will hold everyone over for two months.
So is Notch saying that by going to hell or the Moon, we can dig down an extreme depth and break into hell? Or build a huge tower that goes to floating mountains or the moon?
To pull this off, all you would need is one massive server for a lot of people. Then you would have a Minecraft MMO.
To solve the difficulty of the places getting too big, I think it should eventually stop at an ocean. Going out too far into the ocean would have a giant sea monster or a swarm of sharks eat you.
Holy shit that would be awesome
Yeh infinite maps sounds pretty awesome.
Altough I think truly infinite maps would cause some troubles. Maybe just really big ones? like 10 times a huge map or something.
I wish he would do multiplayer indev first, then work on infinite stuff.
Everyone should tell Notch on the little comment box something like this:
I think you should bring out a multiplayer survival first, then work on this.
Holy shit Notch's idea is awesome. I'd love to see that, but multiplayer must be implemented first. I'm not going 2 months without multiplayer or any other updates, I need something to keep me interested.
If he actually implements a moon, how are we going to get to it as fast as possible? It would take a large tower definitely.

Mashing space bar and right click while looking down.
I'm clueless about the World of Minecraft Client.
To start up the game, simply download our client wrapper package below, extract it, put the official minecraft.jar (which you downloaded from the official site as per the above notice) into the lib folder and then execute run.bat
What lib folder?
[editline]12:53PM[/editline]
Java's lib folder?
[editline]01:13AM[/editline]
Nevermind, worked it out.
Mashing space bar and right click while looking down.
Now what about getting off the moon as fast as possible?
...without dying.
Now what about getting off the moon as fast as possible?

As long as they have a steady supply of blocks, that would probably get them there without them dying. If you mean a way to get there and back safely, probably a giant stairway to heaven.
Would be awesome, but I think he should forget infinite for now. Multiplayer first, then HUGE maps, IE like someone else said 10x the size of Huge map already, THEN get to work on infinite. Would definitely make it better.
And that whole "Sharks eat you" and "Big sea monster eats you" when you're too far out would work.
Would love for there to be continents and we can build some sort of a boat :D

Hmm...Somebody noticed.
Please Consult Nick about this.

It's crap irl.

Yeah, continents was what I had in mind. They would be fucking huge.
We would also have to name them.
Is there a way to spawn normally unspawnable blocks in SP like lava and water?

We made a spawn maze :v:
Oh god, with massive maps in indev, and the giant creatures he was working on a while ago, giant sea monsters? Automatically hunt you if you go out too far, variety would be nice too. But I'm talking massive beasts that lurk.
