This game seriously needs anti-aliasing. Looking at textures from far away really looks horrible.
What do you mean? Anti-aliasing would smooth out rendered edges in the game, not the textures. If you mean Notch should anti-alias the textures themselves, then he'd have to increase their size. Anti-aliasing on a 16x16 texture looks like shit. In any case, the game is supposed to look block-y, not smooth and organic.
Dude, you're talking about infinite maps and still thinking of a single mountain, a lake, a city, a village and a mine?
Because you would totally need more then that in a server that wouldnt handle more then 20 players right. :downs:
I was thinking, will maps be infinite in height too? I mean, it would be easy for someone to fuck up the server, digging down nonstop, generating more and more... I wonder what will be the answer for this, maybe infinite maps only for survival so lava takes care of these assholes.
I don't get what's so great about making sprites All you're doing is counting the number of pixels and putting the same amount of cubes on a wall you're not even drawing, just copying
That's also why I just use a bot.
Good thing it's just a battleship.
A revelation would take days. :psyduck: Haven't even fished that sprite yet.
I bet a 40k Hive city would be both possible and badass in this game. With the huge stone blocks and columns dug deep into the map. Infinite maps would help.
No. [editline]08:23PM[/editline] I give a shit, Not everything has been made. Like my Abaddon. Considering I made the sprite.
Uhh, unless you worked on Skulltag that isn't possible
Uhh, unless you worked on Skulltag that isn't possible
Explain. I made that sprite by hand, I had a reference model, but only for colors and shape.
If anything, anti-aliasing would help to sharpen the 'block' feeling of everything by defining hard edges better when looking at blocks
Can't you just force AA through ATI or Nvida graphics panel?
So im in indev right. got a nice castle goin with wheat and tree farms. Got me some armor. and now. there are no monsters :geno: you guys ever have this problem?
Can't you just force AA through ATI or Nvida graphics panel?
Yeah but it fucks up some of the rendering.
Besides, Mona Lisa wasn't drawn in huge pixels..
Converting images to 8-bit artwork isn't hard. All of the current artwork wasn't created for minecraft anyway, it was created by using this method on already existing artwork.
What I think he should do is make the lava/water texture, a lot bigger, and spread it out over numerous blocks (16x16?)
Oh so its pixelart if your sprite is not identical to the reference image? (for example the view is from another angle) How is that going to work because even if you used a reference image people will still complain that you just plain copied it unless you made something that has no reference image. What I'm saying is that almost everything uses a reference image, the only difference between normal art and pixelart would be the level of detail. And because pixelart is simplified it has no room for creative value unless you make something completely original? So where do you draw the line? If I would make a pixelated version of an extremely detailed pokemon picture would that be considered pixelart and not copying?
http://www.pixeljoint.com/ You're an idiot. Making pixel art from scratch is art. Copying stupid pokemon sprites that were not made by you in Minecraft is not art. Making a custom pokemon sprite can be art. But sprites in Minecraft are generally fucking stupid and nobody cares about them.
That build isn't floating, I actually got below the map.
That build isn't floating, I actually got below the map.
:raise:
:raise:
I flew up 10,000 units of whatever measurement the WoM client uses high (the map had no height boundaries for some reason) and fetched a guy, and he said he was under the map. I teleported to him and took a pic.

Also i just bought the game today and am still learning all the mechanics of the indev version. How do i save? i don't want to get so far and have to start all over again every time, it's hard to get going, for me anyways. I heard somewhere you have to do a hard file save, but i can't figure out how to do that. Ideas on both problems above? Thanks.
How do I craft logs into wood? because I can't do anything right now because I can make planks. [editline]10:59PM[/editline] I meant can't

To save, go on Save level > Save file. [editline]12:01AM[/editline]
How do I craft logs into wood? because I can't do anything right now because I can make planks. Not sure though. And i tried doing that to save it, and when i do, it doesn't show up in the load file later...I'll try it again sometime, maybe I'm doing something wrong.

Personally, normal is the best. Hell got mobs up the ass and no water, woods is too gray and paradise has no nights.
Notch should have released a mountain theme. Also, I wonder how island's and floating maps will work on infinite. If you fall from a floating map, will you be falling forever? And will an island map be an island, then water, then another island? Would be pretty cool. In fact I think Notch should have just opted to generate multiple maps at once and made a teleport block or something.
If you fall, you die. Obviously there won't just be one landmass.
Check if you got the right folder. Personally, normal is the best. Hell got mobs up the ass and no water, woods is too gray and paradise has no nights.
Nah i figured it out, i was choosing a slot instead of just straight up hitting save file. Thanks
FUUUUUUDGE BISCUIT. While searching this huge cavern for lava, I fell in and died. I have a policy of no loading. So if I die, I generate a new level. Oh well. I had about 9 diamonds in my inventory too.
Uhh, unless you worked on Skulltag that isn't possible
Uhh, it is possible for two known objects to have the same name But hey, nice to see another FP Skulltagger.
