Infinite maps = mind blown. I can't believe he has a working prototype of them after, what, a week?
every post you make is atrocious go away Where the fuck did you get that idea from? He never said anything about NPC inhabited settlements and there's no way he'd really add them.
yours are worst posts It looks like something cool. I think i am going to buy this crap
Spiders are fat :v:
i get lost in the huge maps already and now i'm lost on the infinite levels FOREVER!
We need a compass in infdev.
A major flaw in infinite maps as pointed out countless times: 1) While the view going towards a mountain may be great... The amount of chunks calculated should be proportional to your height
When I tried infinite maps there was a never ending wall of obsidian going along the map, whats up with that?
I chose an Inland map and eventually stumbled across this big lake. And a mountain. Geez, the level generator seems to have improved with the infinite maps.
When I tried infinite maps there was a never ending wall of obsidian going along the map, whats up with that?
I think it's some sort of terrain test that Notch put in for himself. So he could see how his code is working.
Protip: Turn on the second largest fog amount. You still see all you see normally, except it curves the edges of the map and makes it look more like a world, and not a square.
Give this man positive ratings. Hearts, agree, informative, funny, etc. It's a really good idea.
When I tried infinite maps there was a never ending wall of obsidian going along the map, whats up with that?
i guess its there for some sort of testing purpose

Oh god what happened here. [editline]05:13PM[/editline] I found a small island and finally got out of the seemingly endless ocean. There are Islands like this all over the place. Found a little cove on the island in the above picture: And behind that a mountain: Notch should add boats or something like that, to make it easier to move around in the water.

Crafting still works, so you can still make a work bench, sticks, and wooden tools. PIRATE FORTRESS
I can imagine it now, going through the ocean searching for rare material, you find it and just then you are ambushed by pirates. That would be fucking awesome, Pirate ships battling, and the losers get eaten by the sharks. :smug: Or you should be able to make railroads. The tracks out of wood and metal and use coal to power the train.
actually that would be pretty awesome, boats and railroads [editline]05:32PM[/editline] pirates and train robbers
I made a minecraft bot that spawns sponges at random positions in the map, 10 times a second. http://myfuckingstartpage.com/downloads/Clique-craft.rar Bot running for 10 seconds 30 seconds
actually that would be pretty awesome, boats and railroads [editline]05:32PM[/editline] pirates and train robbers
Should add horses for the wild west feel.
To infinity... and beyond!
How do i get like rock now to make pick-axes, when ever i mine rock it doesn't give me anything...
Trying out the infdev. Why I have 999 wood and glass, the world will never know. Also say "I" if you want the infinity build to be called the infdev.
The infinite maps are so fun to explore:
So if players spawn in the middle of no where, I guess the best thing to do would be to build some sort of tower and wait for another player to stumble upon it so you can team up. Or you could go searching for other people. I think it would be neat to establish some sort of Inn. Where I can work with someone else and sell food and other materials like armour, weapons, or tools to players who stumble across us. Infdev is awesome. Too bad there's no mobs or trees yet. [editline]10:02AM[/editline] I have entered the depths of hell.

Is there an English link for the paypal purchase?
Seriously, What's wrong with my system. Anyone else with Windows 7 finding this game unplayable? Back when I had Windows XP I was getting over 100 FPS. Now it's below 10.
Infinite maps makes adding transportation devices a necessity rather than a shits-n-giggles thing.

I gave it a max and min Z of 50 and it went into conniptions
I think the boats and train are great ideas. To me anything too complicated will mess with the feel of the game. i think trains would be awesome. Tunnels going through mountains, a track which loops at both ends connecting VERY far apart settlements. would be fun. And if we had boats we could make docks and inland boat canals. :woop:
Adding the ability to create moving contraptions made from blocks would be awesome but pretty far fetched so at least in the beginning the trains/boats would have to be simple "npc"s that you can ride and control. Heck. We could even have horses for land transportation.
