Anyone been on a lava survival server called TheOne's Lava theonemcft.com? The admins on this server are the worst I every seen from any game or website. I would not recommend going because you will easily get perma banned without a reason given. Even if you go on there website and politely dispute in a logical way that make up some silly nerd power trip crap. When I was playing on it I saw 5 people get banned for no reason and then i got banned for building and i guess admin wanted it for himself. Thought the website has rules listed which they do not follow. I do not agree with crashing servers of websites but this one that deserves it to happen.
Oh wait these fools have a Gary's mod server as well.

We get the goddamn point the server's horrible. I've said this many times.
Also, TheOne's a retard. He payed for Myne. Gdude is scamming people by trying to sell his version, even though I've been able to remake most of the features really quickly with little knowledge of python. I had Mail help me with some of the more difficult ones, but seriously, the fuck man.

Hunger is a horrible idea. I hate it when the game forces me to spend time making food and doesn't give me an option to just do what I want.
Not to say that hunger couldn't be implemented, but it should be done in reverse. Eating gives you a stamina boost which in turn makes you dig etc. faster than usual (the normal speed should still be the same or just be slightly lower as food still would need to remain optional)
Death from hunger in games is a no-no. I personally hate it unless the entire game is built around that concept (which minecraft isn't. It's about building)

Stamina could also be implemented well with hunger. Rather than eliminating the player from his actions, it should only drain when digging and doing other "heavy" activity and should only slow down the speed of them. Eating would give the player unlimited stamina for a while as well as healing.
Forcing the player to play a game in a certain manner is never really a good idea. If I don't want to spend my game killing pigs or making farms I damn well shouldn't need to.
Sorry for asking so much questions, but where in the char.png should be painted to get the helmet overlay texture thing to work?

Similar situation happened to me.
I was digging up from a tunnel to see where I was in relation to my house. As soon as I dig through the top layer, a creeper blew me up and launched me straight up into the air. Lucky I had two heart left, bu then a skeleton hit me with an arrow in MID AIR. After I died, there were also two spiders a a zombie waiting if I had managed to survive.
