Well, there's no reason NOT to buy it right now. If you're buying during the beta, the cost will be up to 20 bucks and that's double the price it is now. So yes, buy it.
Unless if you don't like the game or what it's going to be like. In that case, don't.

It is worth it for the current dev snapshots, plus the price doubles when it's out of alpha.
Ok I don't know if this is a bug or what but my mouse is like crazy sensitive and I can't get it to stop moving unless I screw around with it. How do I fix this?

Hey guys, I registered for World of Minecraft and was never sent a confirmation? Does anyone know if it's supposed to take a while, because it says the username I used was being used.

If I remember correctly you're never actually sent a confirmation by notch. You should just suddenly be able to play indev.

so do people have custom auto-builders, or is this just the holy grail of time-wasting
In my server ops and above have an action command that lets you draw stuff like lines, planes and cuboids by setting 2 blocks and using the draw command, that really helps getting the general shape of the building, then the time wasting comes with detailing :v:
in your custom skin, how do you get the color red? just shows up as a bright brown when you color it in.

post up your skin and I'll take a look, I guess. What program are you using, what format is it being saved as, and if it's photoshop, is the color mode (image menu > mode) set to CMYK for some reason?
I had a skin to match my avatar (turned out WAY too 'furry' for me, though), and it was the right red.
